My iMac has been giving me trouble this weekend, so I had to take it to the Apple Store. They’ve been running diagnostics on it, and as of the time of this posting, I still don’t have it back. I expect to have it back on Monday, but I may have to reload it with software before I can post Glenn Beck to the site. But rest assured, I will most certainly post it as soon as my computer is ready.

So I expect to there to be some delay, and my goal would be to have it posted before Tuesday.

I’ve decided to try out a new look on The Right Scoop and I’d love to know what you think.  It’s quite different from the other theme, but it shares a very clean layout and that’s important to me. Besides, I’ve always wanted to give this one a try and I’ve finally gotten around to it.

So leave a comment and let me know if you like it or not. If there are enough of you that really don’t like it, I may go back to the other theme.

In a short few minutes I am going to head over to my mom’s and we’re going out to eat for Thanksgiving. But I wanted to post a quick message to all those who have been coming to my site.  Today I’ve gotten some mail from those who are thankful for the Glenn Beck Shows I’ve been posting. I am glad to do it and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope you have a wonderful holiday. And I’d like to wish a special thanks to Bobby in Germany for his message.

The Right Scoop

This is probably one of the more impassioned speeches Beck will give, and it’s my favorite part of today’s show. With Obama playing the middle by sending 34,000 more troops to Afghanistan but dripping them out over 2 years, it seems that by playing politics he’s putting the lives of our troops more at risk than they already are.  His plea is to quit playing politics and either win the war or bring the troops home.  Personally I don’t see how we can leave Afghanistan, so I think we have to win, which means putting the entire force of our military behind our troops.

UPDATE: Yes, Beck really did tell his nephew not to reenlist, just in case you thought I had misinterpreted the clip:

There was much ado about Glenn Beck’s big announcement at The Villages this weekend, and he did in fact give a sneak peak into what he is planning for next year. Here’s the full speech and it’s approximately 45 minutes. And it’s awesome:

My Fox Orlando did a quick interview with Beck at his book signing in Orlando and managed to get a quick response to a few topics like Sarah Palin, Socialism, etc. His most emotional moment was at the end when he was asked about sending more troops to Afghanistan.

Well Glenn Beck showed up at The Villages in Fla. to unveil a glimpse to his plan that begins next year.  There isn’t much unveiled about the plan yet, but it looks like it will be a large community organizing effort to take back our republic. Apparently Beck will be traveling to cities all over the US, educating us and our children on “topics ranging from self-reliance, community organizing, the economy and how to be a political force in your own neighborhood and country.”  When you think about it, that’s kinda huge. But if our children are to understand what this republic is truly about, it will take an effort like this to give our children the kind of education that they aren’t getting in the public schools.

As for the speech today, when/if I get the video from it I’ll post it here. For now, here are a few quotes from the speech (via @saintpetersblog):

What an amazing few days on the road this has been. Your spirits have been high, your faith strong and your spine unbendable. I ended my multiday book tour at The Villages with what had been billed as a rally but could be better described as a candid citizen-to-citizen chat.

Today, I have stopped looking for a leader to show us the way out because I have come to realize that the only one who can truly save our country…is us. To change America’s course we need to change ourselves, our expectations and our willingness to accept the unacceptable. When we refuse to allow our children to receive a trophy for participation, we are on the road to restoring the meaning of merit in our Republic. When we insist that no one is too big to fail, we will be able to learn from our mistakes, and when we demand that we are self-reliant, we will ensure that others can rely on us, not the government.

There is much to do, much to learn and time is of the essence. While I will be explaining the entire Plan over the coming weeks and months, I did want to give you a preview of some of the highlights:

- Education is key, and not just for our children. To that end, we will be conducting a series of conventions. These will be full-day experiences where you will be immersed in learning about topics ranging from self-reliance, community organizing, the economy and how to be a political force in your own neighborhood and country. The first one will be in Orlando at UCF Arena on March 27th. You will also be able to vote to have a convention in your region by clicking here.

- I have begun meeting with some of the best minds in the country that believe in limited government, maximum freedom and the values of our Founders. I am developing a 100 year plan. I know that the bipartisan corruption in Washington that has brought us to this brink and it will not be defeated easily. It will require unconventional thinking and a radical plan to restore our nation to the maximum freedoms we were supposed to have been protecting, using only the battlefield of ideas.

- All of the above will culminate in The Plan, a book that will provide specific policies, principles and, most importantly, action steps that each of us can take to play a role in this Refounding.

- On August 28, 2010, I ask you, your family and neighbors to join me at the feet of Abraham Lincoln on the National Mall for the unveiling of The Plan and the birthday of a new national movement to restore our great country.
