This is a good interview with Scott Brown, although I take issue with a couple of things he said. I didn’t like his answer on whether or not Tim Geithner should be replaced. He contends that Obama should work with who he is most comfortable with, but what is this, a non-profit agency? He’s the head of the IRS and his continuation should be based on not simply his qualifications but more importantly the job he has done. Secondly, while I can appreciate his answer on whether Obama has made us less safe, the truth is that Obama has great influence on those who fashion policies that Brown speaks of, and Obama has used that influence to strip our nation of the tools that are so badly needed to keep the American public safe.
Outside of that, I thought it was a great interview:
I have to give Roger Ailes credit for giving me the most entertaining Sunday morning I’ve had in a while. In the two clips below from ABC’s This Week, Ailes doesn’t mince words in getting the better of his opponents.
This first clip of Ailes is classic. Arianna Huffington puts Roger Ailes on the spot, asking why he allows Glenn Beck to ‘incite the American people’ with his paranoia. Ailes not only defends Beck, but then turns the tables on Arianna:
The second clip is even more classic. Ailes defends his choice of adding Sarah Palin to the Fox News payrolls while taking the opportunity to state on ABC that Fox News is the most trusted name in news.
Bolton seems pretty confident when attributing the selling of arms to the Persian Gulf Arab states as a continuation of the Bush administration policies to help protect the Arab states if Iran were to retaliate from an Israeli strike. But he also worries this could be be a sign that the Obama administration is willing to accept Iran as a nuclear power and are beefing up defenses in the Gulf Arab states to create a ‘defense umbrella’ for the region, as Hillary Clinton mentioned last year.
Sounds like it to me:
This has to be the most interesting part of the video for me, as I’ve heard him interviewed several times. As Marc tells the story, the first terrorist of the three that the CIA had to waterboard was so grateful afterward that he recommended that the CIA waterboard his colleagues. Why? Well, I’m gonna make you watch the video to find out, and it’s quite interesting. It in fact was information they were able to use when waterboarding the other two terrorists.

Enjoy:
Carl Rove rips into the President on his bipartisan hypocrisy. He notes that even Bush sat down with both Republicans and Democrats and compromised to get legislation passed. I’ve even heard Jon Stewart bashing the President for having supermajorities and not being able to pass legislation. But that really says something about Bush in that he did get bipartisan support on many bills which is what he said he would do. Obama isn’t being honest.
Enjoy:
I am posting this for your entertainment. In fact, it’s awesome. Contessa Brewer assumes that if you’re going to cut the $1.3 trillion dollar budget and be fiscally responsible, that you’ll need to cut funding for major programs like……Education. Her exact question, in question, was this one:
“If you don’t believe that we should have a $1.3 trillion dollar budget, which programs are you willing to cut? Are you willing to willing to tell schools ‘no money for you!’”…
If that’s not a loaded question I don’t know what is. She’s trying to lead him and he doesn’t take the bait. It’s clear that she is intellectually outmatched here and I think his response to hold them accountable is quite appropriate; unlike Crooks and Liars, who believes Gregg owes them an apology.
This is a clip from Stossel where Nick Gillespie gets into it with MeMe Roth, primarily because she interjects herself into his segment (she was in previous segments). My favorite part:
Meme – “As long as other people are paying the price, you force all of us to give an opinion on how you live your life.”
Nick – “Then the solution to this crisis then is getting rid of socialized medicine.”
But you really have to see it to get it’s awesomeness. Plus, Nick really goes ‘alpha’ on Meme. I’m impressed!
Rush penned a message to Obama and read it over the air today. It was his heart to heart with Obama after hearing his State of the Union Address last night.
It’s awesome.
