2012 National Polling: Santorum in virtual tie with Romney

Based on the national polls below we know that the Santorum surge is for real as he is basically in a virtual tie with Romney right now. If he were to pull off a win in Michigan, that’d probably push him over the top. Either way, we have a real race on our hands right now.

Pew Research has released a national poll (Feb. 8 – 12) with Santorum just two points ahead of Romney:

Gallup has a national poll out today (Feb. 8 – 12) with Santorum just behind two points:

Romney: 32%
Santorum: 30%
Gingrich: 16%
Paul: 8%

PPP has a national poll PDF (Feb. 9 – 10) that has Santorum +15 ahead of Romney:

Santorum: 38%
Romney: 23%
Gingrich: 17%
Paul: 13%

And of course we saw from CPAC’s national poll the other day Romney at +2 over Santorum:

Mitt Romney: 27%
Rick Santorum: 25%
Newt Gingrich: 20%
Ron Paul: 8%
