This guy runs a covert inside-America intelligence gathering operation and is spilling all of the details about what they do and don't do. When asked specifically if they do counter-intelligence operations he says "No Ma'am". With a smile.

I did not see details of importance to conduct covert operations that he spilled. I did hear him "spill" how political leaders interfered with what "they do and don't do." I can understand how Clinton could very well be upset with his book.

What was so profound to me was the absolute focus on Counter Terrorism and not Counter Insurgency (COIN). Little girls going to school and setting up a legal system is not the way to win a war. As inept as Clinton was nothing compares to the post 9/11 effort to prosecute these very same heroes.
That was interesting. I can't imagine what it must be like to work in any agency or military operation, yet have your hands tied by your own government. I could never do what these guys do- I am way to outspoken, would tell the politicians where to go and be thrown in Levenworth.
Your comment points out the reason for writting the book. I have not watched the video here but watched entire interview on 60 minutes. He made it abundantly clear the covert operations did not get the support they required and deserved starting with Clinton.
The interviewer kept trying to lay a trap for him to get him to say that the CIA did operations in country on citizens. He made it clear they did have operations in the throughout the world and in the US but only on foreign targets.
Excellent, fearless, first rate operative. This guy is brilliant. I will definitely purchase his book.
It may be interesting and reads like a "Spy" novel but these spooks know better.
They don't need to be flapping their jaws until operations are terminated.The fellow that waterboarded KSM,Rodriquez,the same holds true for him.
I can certainly understand that MyGreenBeret. Until every one of our guys is home and the operation is finished... they need to keep quiet. Everyone wants to be an author or have their 15 minutes in the spotlight, and I can understand that, but Good grief, wait until our folks are safely finished and out of there.
My take is different from yours. I think he has done this to make us aware of the erosion that is occuring to the service. It seems the only way to get these lefty zealots in government to back off is to focus the attention of the voters.

You are right about keeping quiet and if the ACLU, NYT, and the hate America first crowd would take that advice hearing this side of the story would not be such a welcome relief.
I realize an agency or agency officials can reach across constitutional authority, but I have always been of the persuasion that there are things that goes on "On The Wall" protecting the nation the average citizen just doesn't need to know about.
