ACLU suing for removal of Ten Commandments in New Mexico

I had no idea that a monument of the Ten Commandments on state property was really a “law respecting an establishment of religion”. I mean, I know it’s God’s law, but really I just thought it was a monument. But the ACLU must think our Congress is a bunch of angels who crafted the law or something because they want it removed:

CBN – The American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico is suing on behalf of two local residents over a Ten Commandments monument displayed at the Bloomfield City Hall.

The monument was erected last year on the City Hall’s lawn.

The ACLU calls it an unconstitutional endorsement of religion, saying the display violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as well as the New Mexico State Constitution.

Last November, the ACLU won a similar lawsuit against a Ten Commandments monument that had been placed on a courthouse lawn in Florida.
