Allen West: I won’t sacrifice my principles for bipartisanship

What a great interview! Connell McShane, subbing in for Cavuto, does a great job of forcing Allen West out of the gate to defend his statement of holding Boehner’s feet to the fire should he become speaker. This is very interesting because Boehner traveled to Florida earlier in the day to campaign and support West in his election bid. But West held his ground, stating that it’s not about having an issue with Boehner, but that we must make sure the Party doesn’t have a repeat of the massive spending that led to the major Republican losses that occurred 2006/2008.

Then Connell switched it up and asked West that if people like him get their way, would he be a hindrance to bipartisanship. This was my favorite part of the interview because West quickly counters that its not about him getting his way, but about standing up for the sound principles that we all know work well in this country. He is not willing to sacrifice those principles for bipartisanship. Awesome! Music to my ears!

I’m not sure what you will think of this interview, but personally I loved it because it was in my opinion a fairly hard hitting interview that forced West to stand his ground and defend his statements and positions on what could seem like ‘touchy’ issues. And West did just that and came out looking all the better in the end. This is why I love West, because compromise is not in his vocabulary.

Enjoy!
