Col. West is definitely what is needed but he can't do it alone, folks. We need to start at the ground up. look into the GOP at state and local level. GET IN THERE so that when we have conservative caucuses WE will be able to control the GOP, not the DC elites.

I agree with the article, but the big problem here is that people had the chance to pick someone else and the people chose Romney. Whatever the reasoning, they have spoken, they have voted, and they picked the plastic politician.
No use bemoaning it now. I hear everyone saying Romney ought to say this or that, and it doesn't matter. Worse, people get a false hope that someone will miraculously save us all at a convention. They won't.
The people voted. They rejected all the others and picked this guy. And as for Candidate X; if they had wanted to run, they would have done so. It sucks, but here we are.

A few months ago I had dreamed of a Gingrich/West ticket. Can you imagine those two fearless warriors together? But if Obama is the progressive's puppet, then we will have our puppet too. It's up to all of us to force Romney to be the person he pretends he is.
Oops, we did it again. And this after swearing up and down we wouldn't. We let the media pick our candidate. It all started with Romney's faux victory in Iowa. It continues with the media's silence on the shenanigans being played at the state conventions to assure renegade delegates get back in line.
If we are indeed stuck with Romney (please delegates, ignore your state bindings for the good of the country!), then a plurality of delegates from five states can shove Col. West as VP down Romney's throat as he has been shoved down ours. Now wouldn't that be a better choice than, say, bean counter Rob Portman? Yes. Can we trust Romney not to make such an idiotic pick? No.
More awesomeness from a man's man. He's like Washington who would regard a President like Obama, who leads from the rear, with utter contempt. Washington isn't the only great American who had/has multiple bullet holes in his coat. Col West is another such great American who also refuses to lead from the rear; whose bullet holes are leftist darts that keep missing the mark.

I love that Allen West doesn't pander and hem and haw and just tells it like it is. Every time someone asks him if he wants to take back his comments he says no. I meant what I said. And then he explains them. I wish more members of congress and the senate were spoke like him.
He's getting a lot of press lately. That's great, because even if liberals don't like what he says it might get some of them thinking. That, and I love listening to him talk.

West could be the next Ronald Reagan. Like West, Reagan didn't care what the liberals or the mainstream media thought about him. In fact, Reagan actually made fun of the mainstream media and ignored them. Shows you what real leaders are made of. Real leaders actually stand for something. They don't wait for focus groups to tell them what to believe in, they have a basic set of core principles that they live by, and you either take them or leave them based on those principles. West is a leader like that. He has a great future ahead of him. I hope to see him as president some day.

Well said again Allen West! I love this country and am appalled by what is happening to it. We need more honest, conservative, Constitutional loving, American patriots joining this race. From the smallest community boards and councils to State government to Congress and Senate!! I pray we have a chance to turn this nation back around.
What we see now did not start when obama took office. It has been the culmination of decades of conservatives sitting on their hands, putting RINO's into office and not expecting accountability from them. We have had many Republican presidents who have overstepped their bounds on authority, abdicated responsibility to the American people on various fronts including illegal immigrants flooding our country, fraud, waste and abuse in entitlement programs and congressional pet projects. Bush Jr. was the last straw.

I may just have to look into running for local office. I have a cousin who is a state senator. He was a state rep before that. Maybe he could give me some pointers.
Do it librtifriend! What's the worse it could do? We need regular folks who believe in American values, small government, the Constitution to run. They need to start somewhere- local office, school board, county commissioner whatever. If I was a citizen, I would have run long ago. No one would vote for me, because I'd be too radical I'm sure, but I would have run. We need regular folks again who know what real life is.
There is a right time for everything, and there are lot more people willing to accept "radical" nowadays.

Romney is nothing but a businessman and a failed governor. Obama? A back bencher, insignificant senator that accomplished nothing. Neither are good for the country.
LTC West, on the other hand, is a studied, well read, experienced, Soldier and Statesman. Things Romney and Obama pretend to be. An administration under West (and maybe North) would be the thing American needed to finally turn back in the right direction: back towards the Constitution and the rule of law.

The Army and Marines produce people that should be running this country. People of Honor and Integrity; concepts alien to the Obamas. Now, you can see why he's so intimidated and uncomfortable in their presence. A guy that's lived his life spitting on them/us (Veterans/Active Duty), and everything they/we stand for, and looking down on them/us, finds out the hard way who truly is the inferior. Being confronted with a guy like LTC West that has openly stated that he "can't stand" Obama must be a true nightmare for him. No wonder he can't get any work done.
