A good place to start would be to get rid of anyone (Allen West) who voted for the recent NDAA bill.
But taking the country back will require Sacrifice form every quarter.

I have been praying for over a year that he is our next president. Can you imagine a West/Rice or West/Rubio ticket? Our country would survive AND thrive. Lt. Col. West was born for this job, and we need him NOW.
The majority of people that will be voting INDEPENDENT will be Democrats who refuse to vote for a Republican, but have finally sobered up from the Obama Kool-aid drunk they were on.
Then you have the TRUE conservatives, which you claim to be, who will refuse to vote for a Romney or a Newt - both proven socialists.
So, if anything- THIS would be the time to vote for a 3rd party- IF a viable 3rd party candidate would surface. This candidate could NOT be someone as polarizing as Palin (the LEFT hates her) and it probably couldnt be Cain (because the establishment hates him). Ron Paul is constantly misquoted by the media where most of the country gets its political education, and he is running as a Republican because he stands for what the REAL Republican Party used to stand for and as recently as Bush II, they ran on those same policies (but showed his true socialist colors after he won). The reason Ron Paul gets such bad press is because BOTH parties FEAR him. He is anti-government.
If Ron Paul doesn't give up this time, I will write in his name after the GOP proves again it is a fraud- if Romney or Gingrich is selected for the general election by the GOP. I MIGHT vote for Bachmann, but she is punch drunk on the whole RULE THE WORLD philosophy like the rest of them.
The flawed logic is that NOT voting, or voting for anything other than the GOP's choice- is a vote for Obama. No, it isn't. It would ONLY be a vote for Obama if it was cast FOR Obama. Because a non-vote or a 3rd party vote does not get credited to Obama, it gets credited to either no-one or the person it was cast for.
If there are 5 pieces of pie- Obama gets 2 and the Republican gets 2 and the 5th piece is given to the dog- the dog gets a little love too. And he should, because the DOG is the better friend to man than either of the other two!
I bet the teacher you hated was your English teacher, right? Too bad, he/she was probably only trying to teach you something. Might have saved you from the criticism you get when you post messages online. Might have helped your message seem more credible too.
lapitup doesnt have a firm grasp on grammar, let alone reality. I would have suggestion that he not use big words if he can't spell them, but he is having difficulty with the little words too. Spelling ability isn't everything, but it does show the deficit in public education since the government took it over.
If he wants to use big words, and in a quick scan it looks like he knows the correct use of the words (emphasis on "quick scan"), maybe he should take up public speaking, and leave the writing to the writers.
Unfortunately, his message doesn't lend much credibility to his intelligence either. Parroting the talking points of pundits shows an inability to think for oneself -maybe he could be a propaganda voice for the duopoly? The DNC and GOP are always looking for people that cannot discern truth, or just dont care about truth. They LOVE people that can deliver their misinformation to the masses and deliver it convincingly, as if they believe it themselves.

Don't get me wrong here, I DO agree that we need to support the Republican this time around. However, this mantra about voting independently being a vote for the enemy is ridiculous. First of all, it is chanted EVERY election- by BOTH parties, which kind of nullifies the truth in it. If all the people that have parroted this BS every election year would have voted independently, I have no doubt an Independent (or 3rd party) would have won by now. This mantra is a tool used by the establishment on both sides to stupify voters and they can always rely on the fact that there will be people who believe it, out convincing others of it.
If we are to believe that we always have to support the bipartisan establishment, it will always be in power. People need to wake up. The duopoly in Washington DC is not as polar as you think. They intentionally do enough on each side to ensure the voters will at least pick one or the other- and nothing in between.
We cannot be "free people" unless we are also free thinkers. Eventually, people will have to figure out that no matter what the pundits say, we HAVE to vote for a solid 3rd party. It is the ONLY way we will get more options. The DNC and RNC always choose for us- one or the other, is not much of a choice.
I agree we need to support the Republican, but ONLY because too many other people in this country keep believing the garbage about 3rd party votes being a waste. Essentially, everyone who says that and repeats it as if they know what they are talking about- is telling everyone else that "your opinion doesnt matter, you must support MY decision." They are fear mongering, they are a puppet for the establishment- either out of fear, misinformation, or because they truly believe in the establishment's agenda to keep "more of the same"- forever.
I am going against my own principles this time, because I believe we have to ensure we have enough votes to get rid of Obama. We need enough votes to beat the morons, the illegal voters, and the electoral cheats that are a guarantee under this administration.
I just hope in the future, the People will discard this mantra, of 3rd party voting being a waste or a vote for the enemy, because it simply isnt true. If everyone voted for the best candidate, its a guarantee that a 3rd party would win- because MOST Americans are centrists, and the extreme left and right would be outnumbered IN REALITY.
To believe much will change with the GOP's choice is a shot in the dark. After all, look at how our Republicans have pulled the wool over our eyes again, to get elected, only to go back to "business as usual." It's a conspiracy against the Republic. Both Parties are in on it.

I know that part of it is the habit of having complicated things be explained, and solved in 60 minutes on TV EVERY night. So, we expect the equivalent to happen even in the largest terms. We want our wars to last a month or two, and the Ron Pauls to fix everything (without a continuing change in Congress) in a year or so. This isn't the same as getting your wives to change their minds and let you play poker with the guys this Saturday. There is a DEEPLY entrenched leadership system in Congress, and throwing a well intended Libertarian into the Oval Office and actually expecting everything to be fixed in 60 minutes, is the height of arrogance...or ignorance. Americans love to think we are so sophisticated, but we have deluded ourselves into believing sound bytes and polls are all we need to make good public policy decisions.

Now there is some flawed logic, since the abolitionist would have never voted for the opposite party. And the Northerns were in support of abolition while the southerners didn't want the slaves to be free because it would have meant the end to free labor for them. They indeed did try and elect their own president as I recall and of course he ended up giving up his short lived title because Sherman burnt Georgia to the Ground. And laid the trail open for victory. Of course if you talked to Elisabeth Cady Stanton she would have told you all their trust we put in Lincoln at the time because they knew he would do it. Listen it is common political knowledge that if you vote for someone other than the Republican party when faced with a democrat you are wasting your vote. Because its like a dead vote. Now more than ever we need a united vote. A vote against Obama we must get him out of office. Frankly I think he should be impeached for all that he has done because he is absolutely seditious. First he tells the whole world we are arrogant, then he tells the Dali Llama that he cannot visit the white house, then he insults Israel's prime minister, then he invites several terrorist into the White house for a party. He bows to foreign leaders like he himself is not a leader. He has more Czars up there on capital who are not being monitored God only knows what kind of regulations they are passing up there. It's a nightmare of immense proportions and I am not just being dramatic. Arizona is sued for trying to protect its sovereignty and guns are given to the enemy. Then Obama calls a domestic terrorist in the Army who murdered 13 people in cold blood while yelling Allah Ackbar a domestic crime. Really, really!!!! The man is so corrupt that I fear that one more year with him in office will destroy us beyond anything we can imagine. The will be no one to rescue us we are hated by everyone. No one will rally to save us we will be alone to face destruction by ourselves and destruction of the American way is what he wants.

I've come to the party late, but I can tell you this, lapitup -- your remarks would be much more credible if you would learn to spell!
I don't mind spelling errors. I only care about the framing of the ideas and arguments. We get a lot of folks in here for whom English is a second (or third, etc.) language. Also a lot of folks commenting via thumbing in stuff on their phones.
And good, old-fashioned typos, of course.
So spelling suffers. But a well-formed idea shines through bad spelling.
Folks do need to watch the accusations, though. It's easy for anyone to read what actually happened, after all.
We took a chance on him, expected him to stand his ground and he became a rubber stamp for the speaker on all things fiscal. I really don't see that he's got the cajones to be speaker and buck the system. I really wish that he'd show some backbone, and vote against this nonsense, but he hasn't in the (almost) year that he's been in office, so I don't see why he would stop "going along to get along", as they say, and all of a sudden become a leader in the House. I just don't see it. Words mean something, but actions mean EVERYTHING.
Allen West has voted for some real crap too, so maybe he should check his own voting record out first. We need new leadership, but we need people who actually vote for smaller government, not people who just talk a big game.

If, as Mr. West stated, the concern within the conservative freshmen is NOT a change in GOP leadership, then absolutely nothing will change. I am tired of this fan dance.

Boehner was the "appointed Godfather" of the Republican Establishment same-old, same-old. He was put there to foil the moves of the conservatives that were elected to office. The Republican establishment, that has seen the likes of Spector and McCain, cannot remain, for it is they, that have been part of the problem. And now, that my Senator, Mr. Vitter, signed off on this "national defense/Americans are criminals" bill, he is going to get voted out of office!
He said he wouldn't vote for a republican. Comprehension isn't your fine point is it. If you don't vote, or you vote for someone other than a republican you are then voting in essence for Obama. That is what he is saying plain and simple. And it is true.
He said he didn't edit the comment. Nowhere in it did he say he wouldn't vote (Republican or otherwise). If He wrote something different AFTER my comment, that's your problem, not mine.
