There really hasn't been much of a protest by democrats on this leaving me to wonder why? I can only assume that it's true for that reason, which also leads me to believe that they haven't made a stink about it because they want this to be forgotten as quickly as possible lest the public start to do some research on their representatives and senators and find out exactly how true this really is.

If he wants to say the members of the progressive caucus are communists, that's fine, but that's not the same thing as saying that they're "members of the communist party" which is what he originally said.
Dems know if they were honest about their beliefs and true agenda, they would never win an election. Their only hope is to obfuscate, confuse and distort. Their redefining of actual words is a big part of the con. Taxes are now called "revenue", spending is now "investment". Against the healthcare mandate? - "sexist". Would like a secure border? - "racist".
So now if you are for wealth redistribution, nationalization of industry, single payer healthcare, unlimited welfare (unemployment, food stamps, sec 8 housing), expanding labor unions, and every other state-run cradle to grave, individual liberty smashing policy the "progressives" openly support, why should you be offended when someone just so happens to accurately define what it is that you are.... Allen West will not be VP.
I love Allen West. All he is saying is true. Furthermore, he is consistent. However, his hopes of becoming VP have ended with these remarks. These remarks, to the establishment GOP, are those of a loose cannon. To Mitt Romney, this is "setting one's hair on fire," to paraphrase him. I hope Allen West knows this. (He probably doesn't care, though. Hint: he has a soul and doesn't seem capable of losing it.)
West is respected for saying what needs to be said. After decades of insults from the left and them taking advantage of our kinder natures and manners, people have had enough.
