An Intolerable Mistake on Hallowed Ground

Common decency is obviously a concept of which Bloomberg knows nothing. This is beyond the question of tolerance. Why build there?

Islam is more than just a religion it is a complete system of governance which is why it should be treated as an exception in this case,likewise this “project” is more than a mosque,it is a “community center”(that is what they refer to it as) so we should then approach it as such in our stand against it. If you listen to them,I mean really listen to them when they speak of “Islamic or Muslim culture”,the key word is culture. From listening to, and reading their various works I can only conclude that when they use the term what they mean is this, The totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought. This is the only definition that really fits their use of the word. This goes way beyond a simple religion and if they were nothing more than just a religion or faith I would have no problem with the free exercise thereof.

By the same token, British people shouldn't be allowed to visit Revolutionary War battlefields, and Japanese people shouldn't be allowed to visit Pearl Harbor. And don't even think about letting Americans visit Civil War battlefields. What if it was a church instead of a mosque? Is that okay? Either you allow places of worship or you don't. Finally, what's so special about ground zero? Should every street corner where somebody dies be “hallowed”? It was a tragic incident, but it was almost 9 years ago. People need to move on. “This is a place which is 600 feet from where almost 3,000 people were torn to pieces by Islamic extremists.” Okay, so a lot of people died. 9 yeas ago. Why are we still mourning? It happened, it was tragic and unbelievable, but it's time to move on. These points, for me at least, are the ones that render your argument invalid.

However no one has said that Muslims cannot visit the site.It is the motive behind the building of this “cultural center” that is being questioned. Consider the name of the proposed project,The Cordoba Center, now research it so you will actually understand. Context is very important in this.
