Cooper to Bachmann: I need 3 cuts you would make right now!

I’m not saying that Anderson Cooper was necessarily unfair to Bachmann, but it seems to me that Democrats who want to increase spending, who DID increase spending, never come under this level of scrutiny even though we have debt levels that may cause us to go bankrupt. Even more to the point, how come Democrats never get challenged on the fact that they create ‘Pay Go’ legislation and still refuse to pay for anything. They can just spend spend spend and its ok because they are ‘helping people’. Puh-lease!

So when I hear an interview like this, it leaves me with dismay that Republicans have to account in the most specific detail the whys and whats of their plans to cut spending and Democrats rarely ever get challenged on why they’ve been bankrupting our country for 4 years! It’s always Booooosh, and the MSM just lets them keep that narrative.

Look, when Republicans say they are going to cut spending, what I believe they are talking about is not about cutting specific programs (which I certainly believe they will), but they they are not going to allow budget deficits of trillions of dollars anymore! I know they will start trying to remove waste from the system and cutting irrelevant programs, but we need to let them get in there and figure out what needs to be cut before we start hounding them on knowing exactly what they are going to cut. To me it sounds like Cooper is going for those ‘gotcha’ moments to simply try and make her look stupid.

Yeah I know he only asked for 3 things, but geez, I don’t care at this point what you are going to cut, but that you are willing to look at everything and start cutting if you can get it passed. We can worry about the specifics once they get in there and sift through the appropriations.

Also, Cooper’s defense of the President’s extremely large entourage going with him to India seems a bit over the top to me. While I appreciate him digging in for more accurate facts, it seems that a healthy dose of skepticism is needed – and I wasn’t feelin’ it.

And one more thing. If Bachmann’s big thing was cutting spending, then why play that clip of her in the beginning suggesting that we should investigate people? I mean, this whole segment just feels wrong.
