The totalitarianism at MSNBC knows no bounds. A new promo ad the network is pushing by Melissa Harris Perry says that people have the right to to health care, education, decent housing, and quality food at all times (h/t: The Blaze):
If someone has a right to these things, then who is going to be enslaved to provide it? After all, if you have a right to ‘quality food’, yet know one is providing ‘quality food’ in your area because it is less profitable, then your rights are being violated. How do we solve that problem? Who does the government force to provide this ‘quality food’ that you have a right to? Who does the government force to pay for it?
The truth is you don’t have a right to any of this stuff. The only rights you have are God-given. That is, you have a right to breath, to work hard, and to live your life as you choose as long as it doesn’t infringe on those same rights of someone else. Everything else is a privilege.
God tell us that if we are lacking food, not to worry, because in His love he will ensure that our needs are taken care of if we depend on Him. There is no government that can do that for you. It is a false utopia in the hands of anyone else but God. Just go to North Korea and see how well Melissa Harris Perry’s utopia is working out.
