AP-GfK poll: Majority of Americans want Obama to be a one-termer

Hardly surprising.

Sure looks like the Democrats are stuck with a dud of a POTUS nominee for next year.

Politico reports:

For the first time, a majority of Americans say President Barack Obama should be voted out of the White House next year, despite a small increase in the number of people who say the country’s economic outlook is improving, a new poll shows.

Fifty-two percent of those surveyed said the president should not get a second term in office — 43 percent said he should be reelected, according to The Associated Press-GfK poll.

In May, 53 percent had said they were rooting for four more years of Obama, while 43 percent said they were opposed to his reelection.

Obama somehow still manages to maintain slight leads in this poll over Romney and Gingrich, the purportedly most electable GOP candidates. This is somewhat baffling to me; however, I suspect that will change once the GOP settles on a nominee – whoever it ends up being (with one notable exception).

NOTE: I hadn’t noticed that Red just did a post on some new poll data out on Obama, which included a reference to this AP-GfK poll. So while this is not quite a double-post, it’s pretty close. I apologize for the redundancy.
