Recently Jim Wallis smeared Beck again, saying that he has called him a Nazi and a Communist. He went on to say that Glenn Beck is really afraid of Christians and the good that social justice can do.

Well, Beck played the clip near the end of his show today and, well, he and the guys had some fun with it.

Enjoy!

Jim Wallis will get his comeuppance.

Well here is two clips I found on a quick search of youtube Glenn calling Wallis a Marxist.Does this mean he violated his 40 day pledge by lying?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPqFBg_aTlE&feature=related

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QSjsoIca4w

But a question. So domionionist hypernationalist/mormon theodemocratic churches are ok,but a pastor asking christians to help out his follow man and leave the world a better place is not?

    • http://www.therightscoop.com/ therightscoop

Calling Wallis a Marxist was never in question. It was calling him a Nazi/Communist that he hasn’t done.

    • Extremely Right

If you watch the video Beck never denied calling him Marxist. He said Wallis himself admitted he was a Marxist. Glenn didn’t lie.

    • poptoy1949

Mickey I have been watching your replies for sometime now and I am convinced you are her to stir things up from a Liberal stand point. Keep it up. We enjoy watching you make an idiot out of yourself. You will turn no ones point of view on this site. Bye, Bye.

      • Cheryl~

So we can only voice our opinions, thoughts or views if they agree with everyone else? How boring that would be! Do you only talk to people that agree with you? How do you ever learn anything then?

        • Anonymous

poptoy1949 was just voicing his opinion of Mickey. Do you see anything wrong with people voicing their opinion? It would be pretty boring if everyone had the same opinion.

          • Cheryl~

He was name calling Williamm and suggesting that noone was interested in his views because he was thinking differently than most on here!!! Nice try though!

            • Anonymous

t was more than a nice try. I accomplished exactly what I intended. I pointed out that you defended Mickey’s opinions, but you feel that poptoy1949 has no right to voice his opinion.Your comment ” So we can only voice our opinions, thoughts or views if they agree with everyone else? ” . poptoy1949 was only voicing his opinion and he has every right, even if you disagree with him. Have a good night.

              • Cheryl~

I guess we WERE BOTH commenting but poptoy1949 was being unkind which is unecessary but if it makes you feel like a better man than you are correct! Have a great Sunday!

                • Anonymous

I don’t need for you to say I am correct for me to feel like a better man.You have a right to say or call me anything you like, and I’ll defend that right. As to Mickey, I personally believe he is here to disrupt the forum and discredit Glenn Beck. He has a right to do that if he wishes, but people have a right to call him on it if they desire, and you have a right to defend Mickey as you have done on at least 2 occasions.

Mickey has said unkind things in the past. Here are several.

“It’s sad that Glenn’s parents never taught him to love this country or not to use service members in a pathetic lie.”

“Which leads into the next lie Glenn utters.A private in the Army or any E2 in the military makes $1,622 with 6 years sevice.”

“Good news everyone.Michelle is going to have everyone’s favorite liar, I mean historian, David Barton give a class to the incoming freshmen Republican Congressmen.”

My personal belief is Beck believes what he is saying, so that doesn’t qualify him to be lying. Beck does make mistakes but Mickey calling him a liar isn’t necessary.

                • Cheryl~

Williamm, Beck is near the top of the pyramid in terms of successful opinion marketers… like Rush, Hannity, O’Reilly. As with any good capitalist you are going to market your services for the most personal gain that the market will bear. Beck does this very well I might add!!

With that being said I couldn’t tell you whether he is sincere or not-though he uses words that are sincere I don’t know the man, I just know that when I started doing my own research about his comments, and views I saw that they were definitely skewed due to his faith, and to his life experiences. If you will take the time to investigate just a little about the Mormon faith you may understand why he says what he says and does what he does…unless of course you are Mormon and then you understand why!

People tend to be more believable when they have nothing to gain-Beck on the other hand has to strike while the iron is hot something he has more or less said on his radio show from time to time!

I appreciate Beck for screaming the house is on fire (America) though I knew it before he said it on radio, but I do treat whatever he says with caution and I do my own research-what I can-sometimes he is right on the money but other times, many other times he is misleading…intentionally-hopefully not but that doesn’t change anything…my main concern is how much Christians buy into whatever he says as gospel! Both politically and spiritually!

                  Thanks for the dialogue though!

By the way, I do agree that name calling isn’t a good way to chat but sometimes I guess people say it for emphasis, it just isn’t nice and can turn a person off to what he or she is trying to say…I sure have been guilty of it!

Some people call it the echo chamber, and yes, a lot of people DO only talk to people they agree with or believe the same things.

Indeed. I live in a relatively insular community, I’ve come to relish the glares from people for violating their false tranquillity of never actually thinking about the worldview/beliefs they simply inherited from their parents.

    • seeks the truth

There is nothing wrong with helping your fellow man. There is something wrong when Govt. uses force and takes your money to redistribute it. Helping should be on your accord not because you are forced to. God does not force you to anything. I for one believe Jim Wallis is a wolf in sheeps clothing. By the way when has anything the Govt. does ever help? They only make things worse.

You have no idea as to what you are talking about…….. I love all your big words you use (and made up) to try and look intellegent.

A Pastor requesting people to be charitable is the antithesis of confiscitory redistribution from the barrel of a gun, and the confiscation of wealth is what Wallace and the like promote. Which is EVIL!

      Sorry MIKEY

  • Mikemorrison281

You can’t be a Christian and believe that Jesus is not God. You can’t be a Christian and believe that Jesus is really an angel and is the brother of Lucifer. You can’t be a Christian and deny the Trinity.

There’s a whole lot more, but that’s enough.

    • Last Sane Man, CA

Dunno about the last one, but the first two are pretty true.

      • nsb83

        Im pretty sure it is

      • Anonymous

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that the Trinity is actually considered an absolutely central part of Christian doctrine.

Which is also why hardcore evangelicals do actually reject Glenn Beck’s claim that he’s a Christian.

Let me put it like this. I understand why people may reject Beck, but I have to wonder if the thief on the cross new of Jesus’ virgin birth or any other ‘doctrine’ that we would feel is relevant, or if he really knew anything more than Jesus was his salvation. It’s obvious Jesus accepted the thief.

          Just a thought

          • grizzlybarrmomma

TRS-I can only speak for myself, but I also don’t believe alot of Christians “reject” Beck because he’s a Mormon, currently.

I don’t think we reject him at all. His faith is his own. But his message I receive and I’m looking forward to hope, faith, and charity (love) being played out in 2011 in a unique way. THE BECK WAY.

He has a great mind, even without a college education. He thinks out of the box. He truly is waking alot of people up. And I think he knows how to pick a great staff.

We’re praying for all of them.

            • Anonymous

I said a lot of the more hardcore evangelicals reject him- I meant the extreme purist/legalist crowd.

I mean, liberty u gave him an honorary degree, obviously a lot of christians accept him.

            • Anonymous

The most dangerous untruths are truths moderately distorted. ~Georg Christoph Lichtenberg

The thief on the Cross-he obviously recognized “truth” as he recognized Jesus as God and asked Christ to remember him when He/Jesus came into His kingdom; the other thief did not recognize truth-and the truth is: Jesus is the Way, truth and life and that Jesus IS GOD.

Mormons believe that God is a man-HE IS NOT-He is a Spirit-thus IF Beck really accepts the Mormon teachings than his foundation and the lens through which he sees things is seriously skewed and is in serious opposition to Christian teaching. Yet MANY Christians have accepted him and much of what he says turning a blind eye to his faith (because they agree with him politically).
Because of this I personally question all that he says! That is not to say that he is all wrong-but then I refer you back to my first sentence which says it all.

I DO give him credit for speaking out that America is in trouble and she is that!

          • Mrudd083

            Man, you got it right!
The word “doctrine” causes more grief to believers than can be explained in a few short sentences!
The LORD judges from what HE knows of our hearts.
If HE held me to all the mistakes I’ve made – well,
            I’d be dead.
            Where there’s life there’s hope.
And the promise is “Seek and ye’ shall find.”
I hate to say it, but we’re all wrong in one point or another.

        • Mrudd083

If the man claims he’s a Christian, why is it so difficult to take him at his word?

          • Vidg2003

            Because he’s a Mormon.

            • Mrudd083

Who is confessing the name of Jesus Christ. Which is what Christians do isn’t it?

    • Paulchri

The cults do it all the time. Oh yeah, he is in one.

    • Paulchri

      You are correct! Well put.

    • Kelser09
  • Mrudd083

Everyone needs a good laugh from time to time, but there’s nothing funny here.
If we’re Christians then we shouldn’t joke about what we believe. And we shouldn’t say that we’re not Christians in jest.

There really is a such thing as casting out evil in the name of Jesus Christ.
And I think we better start taking G*D seriously if we want Him to hear and answer our prayers.

    I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me.
OR MAYBE WE’RE ALL IN REAL TROUBLE THESE DAYS!!!
    Seriously,

    Jesus is THE KING.
Whoever believes that, should give His name the honor He deserves.

I guess if you don’t like this comment you can ban me from this website.

And the sooner we all take that attitude, the sooner people like Wallis will cease to matter. Who cares what he thinks or says?! It would be nice if the president’s “spiritual adviser” would spend his time defending the Christian football player who just got in trouble for lifting his hand in prayer. Instead of trotting around the world gnawing on Glenn Beck.

But I guess that’s life huh?

    • Davidkiser21

      Care to elaborate Daniel?

      • Paulchri

I think he is making reference to the idiots who stamp people on the forehead and they fall down, “completely healed”. This might be for the purpose of exposing what he considers to be ignorance in the realm of Christianity. I agree with him so far as some of the things that Christians do is concerned. As a Christian myself, I am ashamed of my brothers who would support preemtive war, Bush (who claimed to be a Christian), the killing of foreign nationals in their own sovereign countries, the war on drugs, and many more. Main stream Christianity has some serious issues. I will say that the road that is narrow has a few people on it, but certainly not the majority of supposed Christians.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=770715455 Daniel Tumser

Actually it was an Exorcist reference, but it works just as good for Evangelical “slaying with the spirit” that you describe. I went to my Pentecostal friend’s church a couple times and the mysticism made me chuckle. It’s not just Christian mysticism I mock, though, all hocus pocus is worthy of jokes.

          • Mrudd083

            Thanks for answering.
I figured that was what you meant.

        • Mrudd083

I understand your point, and agree that Christianity is suffering some serious issues these days, mostly because we don’t know the scriptures for ourselves.
And that is the danger I see in Jim Wallis and others like him, who are purposely trying to pervert the Gospel, or are ignorant of its truths.
How serious a person is about their religion is their business.
But is anyone is interested ….
The church in Corinth was experiencing some problems with zeal in Paul’s day and I’m pretty sure he must have been concerned about people like you and Daniel when he wrote these things to them.

(1 Cor. 14:23 KJV) “If therefore the whole church come together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned or unbelievers, will they not say that you are mad?”
          (33) “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace…”
          (40) “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

          Yeah, yeah,
This aint a Christian chatroom!!! I know. I know. But I figured if anyone is truly interested – it’s a start.

Interestingly enough, 1 Cor. 14:23 is where people get the scriptural inspiration for this…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O_KuEOLuyI

The left is big on a high wall between religion and government until it suits their perspective.

I object to anyone forcing me to practice a religion that is not my own. Currently, that means voting against the far left as they seek to establish a Christian social justice theocracy.
