Beck weighs in on current GOP field and Newt

***Video Fixed***

I’m mixed about this clip. First of all I’m so tired of people criticizing the field of candidates saying that it’s weak. There may be some weaker players at this point but the truth is that they haven’t even started campaigning yet and the field is still gelling as some haven’t even announced anything yet. Considering all of the above, this ‘woe is the Republican Party’ vibe that some on our side of the aisle are putting out there is just not helping. It’s way to early for that. And if this ends up being the final field of candidates, which is very unlikely, getting to the finish line (as the Republican Party) while kicking all the candidates that are running isn’t going to help us either. We want a strong finish.

I want a conservative as much as the rest of you. And there are some very conservative candidates running with some good ideas. They have their hurdles but they need our support, not our disdain. After all it’s Obama and the Democrats that are the real target here and we need to keep our eyes on the prize lest we end up with another McCain.

Also, regarding Beck’s comments about the GOP, I don’t disagree with him that the GOP can make it difficult for candidates they don’t back. But let me remind Beck of something. Remember Charlie Crist? Need I say more? Stu is right that it’s the people voting and we can and will determine who we vote for. If we like Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, or Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, and we do, then we will help them get elected. The American people have more money than the Republican Party does and we will use it to offset the disadvantages of not being a party candidate. Plus we have Jim DeMint on our side and he proved last time what he can do.

All in all I’m very excited about the opportunity to get Obama out of office and I can’t wait to see these candidates on the campaign trail.

The second half of the clip is Beck weighing in on Newt’s recent comments.
