Bill O’Reilly interviews Jon Stewart on the Factor

I was unimpressed with Bill’s interviewing skills tonight. I thought he did a great job with Sarah Palin’s interview, but this was almost a flop. If I had one word to describe this interview, it would be contrived. I felt that Bill was condescending at times, but not intentionally; trying to hard at other times to either ‘get’ Jon Stewart or attempt his hand at humor, which fell flat. It’s like Bill sees Stewart as his equal of sorts, and it almost made Bill look a bit small.

I don’t have high hopes the 2nd half of the interview tomorrow night.

The left keeps thinking this simple thing: “If you don't agree with Obama's policies, you must be a Republican.”

Which is FALSE, and Glenn's real fans know this. We know Beck slams both parties almost equally.

The Left watches 3 Beck shows and think they've seen all there is to know.

How can any smart person not turn to the right, at least for a better look, after watching 3 Beck shows? It took me less than a week to turn from thinking I was a liberal. It turned out I was just not well informed. I guess the hard part is admitting that you're wrong. Especially when you're fed your opinion. Or should it be harder if you created your own opinion?

  • Jeff

    hi Logan,

IMO… people are divided in how they make decisions:

    1. Left: Liberals use heart & emotion
    2. Right: Conservatives use mind and logic

Now, either can “lean too hard” in one direction. I admit that I'm hard right. It would be an intense, cold & clinical world if everyone was like me.

As a liberatian friend told me, we need some compassion at least so that moderately successful conservatives don't need to walk the streets in fear or carry weapons and live in gated communities to keep the underclass at bay.

We have to realize that not everyone will be able to care of themselves due to whatever mental problems they have.

Our problem is that too many people look to the government for a “free life”. not enough pull their weight. Able bodied people need to work, not sit at home watching TV all day. that might mean unloading trucks, pushing a broom, flipping burgers. whatever it takes to support oneself.

Back to your point about being informed. There's a stigma about being independent and successful. That one should feel guilty.

In a dating forum, an oriental gal asked me about my thoughts:

“The crime – never having any dreams of living beyond basic survival.”

she said: I dont get this. What does it mean.

I think that prosperity appears out of reach to many, and because of the choices people make with the money that they DO earn, they will never become free. They will have to work until they are basically dead.

Now, I work all the time too, but I don't have to at all. The difference is having a respect for money and power. It is like fire. If one controls their emotions with money, like fire, it is useful. Bad choices and emotions, fire destroys all.

    1. “what you can do?..change your behaviour?..”

Yes! We're responsible for our own lives, and this is natural and right.

    2. “who is faster or stronger can eat from the plate.”

This is OK! There are better actors, musicians, doctors, athletes, teachers, etc… because there is a reason to be better. More money and prestige in a field. People are NOT equal! But everyone can improve from existing status, if they decide to be better than before.

    3. “or change your view and see it as a huge plate..”

There is so much opportunity in North America, a blind man should see it even! Also, when one person wins, it doesn't mean someone else loses or starves. There is no single pie we fight over. We can make our own pie. The size of the pie is equal to the effort and intelligence of the pie maker.

    4. “does X factor exist that what you call it as luck?”

I don't think so. Luck… superstition.. Santa Claus.. tooth fairy… disney movie. All pretend.

    5. “some people get something so easy, some through struggle..”

Great point, but this is true for all species of life on our planet. Birds fly south for winter because it is more comfortable for them. but, your point I think: we all need to “get something” whether easy or struggle. Otherwise, there is nothing! And that is a shame to live like a dog, in a part of the world where the top 1% of wealth, freedom, and hope is.

6.”we tend to always have excuses..everything has excuses..and it conceals the fact…”

Excuses are easy, they take a few words only and person is off the hook. BUT excuses hurt the person in the long run. We must look in mirror and say to self “my quality of life is up to me, and i decide what I want from this experience.”

    7. “i didnt feel any burden, and i could enjoy running up the stairs…”

Did you know? 50% of the energy for a journey is in the very first step? Since we hesitate and worry so much… once moving, it's not too bad.

    8. “what is the more determining factor? hard work? being strategic? perseverance? talent? way of thinking? extrovert personality? confidence? having vision? being practical? acceptance? being unique?”

    I'd say: “way of thinking.”

The first thing to shed: guilty feelings from making a profit.

You can have everything else you list in place, but if a person feels “dirty” for making money then it is a burden on their mind.

Some people carry this burden, even though the customer got exactly what they expected in exchange for money. What happens?

    1. you advertise thing for sale at 100.00
    2. custom buys at that price
    3. customer leaves, and is happy with item for the price they paid
    4. seller feels bad that he bought item in first place for only 25.00. he made good profit, but there is demon in his mind that he was “unfair”. That this can't be right to make so much money that easily.

But it IS right. No one forced customer to buy it. They chose out of free will.

Customer does not know or care if in order to get the low 25.00 cost price, seller had to buy 50,000 units up front.

I would like to find out who you are. Why? When you die I'd like to throw a couple bucks in your casket. Just in case you don't have enough.

  • Jeff

    hi Verg,

sounds crazy, but I don't want any more money. :-D

All I want is a peaceful and free existence. To that end, I keep a low profile, wearing Wal-Mart clothes and driving an old vehicle.

The people who “really have money” don't want anyone else to know. It just invites problems from self-proclaimed Robin Hoods out to “even the score” by teaching people like me a “lesson”. That includes the Fed government who keeps tabs on people creating and following conservative blogs like this.

I'm somewhat selfish. But there's a social byproduct. The more selfish a person is, the less they need help from others (or the state). They store their own food for the winter, and plant their own seeds in the spring.

Poverty is now an industry in USA. It's become fashionable to be a failure. Most countries in the world don't have a welfare program at all. Like all other species, humans become very motivated when they need to be.

I almost wasn't going to go back here to look at the comments, but I'm GLAD I did. EXCELLENT POINTS…ALL OF THEM EXCELLENT.

  • Tyler

I'll even go further into saying that I believe that Obama's just a puppet for those TRULY in control as has every other president since Woodrow Wilson and even that the SHADOW GOVERNMENT wants to take over the entire world including us to bring together a GLOBAL government with a plan to depopulate our planet to a more “managable number.” Now, “conspiracy theory?” Maybe. I HOPE I'm WRONG. I DON'T WANT to be right about that. But…when you separate yourself from worldly matters and start to realize that you and you alone are in control of your own destiny…they have already lost because they cannot control your spirit.

  • Jeff

    hi T,

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” – Jefferson

    :-D

So, watch for weapon confiscation. Also be comforted that there are way more of “us” than “them”.

Also think about “the confiscators”. The people the gov sends to strip us of our rights will also be people with families and who initially are “just doing their job”. I think they'd refuse orders from their boss after a certain point. Because those officers etc would be more aligned with other Americans.

I agree that Obama is a figurehead only. Really, his day is filled with meeting people and doing interviews, not working on policies, as there's no time for that. So the policies are coming from people we know much less about.

  • Jeff

    Thanks T,

Freedom, prosperity, & security is far more orgasmic than anything else I know about.

Perhaps money is a False God, but I can hold it in my hand and exchange it for real things very easily. It turns a life from a gravel road to a paved road. :-D

more from my emails with Oriental gal:

She says: “Tell me about your concept of life and concept of work.”

I live life on my terms, really have not needed to compromise. I only what I want to do, 24 hours per day.

Life is tree with apples. many people look up the tree and hold out their hands waiting for apples to fall. I go get a ladder and pick apples off the tree directly.

A career is fine, but I noticed at very young age that the wealthiest, most powerful people were not educated professionals. they were business owners and inventors.

Also, at end of day? Bank and food store don't care if you are a doctor or a janitor. they want “their” money for their products/services, and don't care at all how you got “yours”.

Sorry Jeff , it's not right to make such a harsh comment to someone I don't know. Good Luck !
