BillO trashes the Tea Party again!

BillO is upset that there are 38 Tea Party House Republicans who say they won’t vote to raise the debt ceiling unless there is a balanced budget amendment attached to it. BillO, like everyone in the MSM, wants compromise and he wants it bad. He doesn’t believe in standing your ground on principle and trying to force the other side to do what’s best for the country. He’d rather fold like a lawn chair under the umbrella of hyperbole and scare tactics spewed by the radical leftists. He’s given in to conventional wisdom that there is no way that a balanced budget amendment will pass because the radical leftists won’t pass it. So what does BillO do? He compares the Tea Party to 1960s radicals that were shunned because America viewed them as extreme and says America will do the same to the Tea Party if they block the compromise and the economy goes south.

No, it’s not the fault of the radical leftists who will have spent by the end of this year close to 5 trillion in just deficits in just three years. That’s over double what Bush spent in 8 years of deficit spending that included two wars. No, it’s not the fault of the radical leftists who passed ObamaCare against the will of the American people that will push our economy into a debt explosion and bankrupt us for years to come. No, it’s not their fault. It’s the Tea Party that must compromise or they will be blamed if the economy goes south!

That same schtick seems to have rubbed off on Hannity. Both of those guys want to appear likeable to the remaining Dems who aren’t yet bat***t crazy. Makes them very difficult to watch.
Rush is one of the few “regular Conservative” commenters that has a knack for keeping a liberal audience without compromising one whit in his commentary or his style. The rest always seem to be reaching across the mythical “aisle” to find acceptance or something. Rush proves every day that’s not necessary in the least. Too few pundits trust the “Rush technique” to try it. Beck almost pulls it off. (Of course just when Beck’s on a roll, he ruins it with ill-timed criticisms of things done by particular Conservatives. Usually criticisms over things that don’t really matter, but provide comfort to the left for his having raised them. That’s one reason why I don’t like to watch or listen to him much).
Pundits drive me crazy. We just have to bear in mind it’s a business, and each one of them is an independent owner-operator, with wildly varying practices.

Disqus is having trouble keeping up. This will happen from time to time. I’ve noticed a lot of weirdness in the display side, which probably has to do with the scripts that “get” info from their server (the scripts ask for stuff, but the server is busy). The good news is that they seem to keep up with the “post” side of things very well, so if you hit the “Post” button, you’re likely to have your comment saved in their system just fine.

That is amazing, but of course the infrastructure ~~to build it~~ to get materials in, and keep them supplied was already in place, as well as cleared, easy to traverse land.
Blasting has gotten cheaper and more accurate since the original canal was built, and the science of concrete has changed a lot, too (some say for the worse, others say much better). The materials handling capabilities are vastly improved, with some of the huge cranes and specialty trucks available.
Taking all of that into account, the “new, improved” canal costs everything on the current balance sheet, plus everything spent since the original one was surveyed.
Unless the cost analyst went to school at Harvard, in which case it costs nothing, since taxpayers somewhere pay for it, and have no choice, so why bother adding it up anyway.

I saw a radical shift I BillO’s attitude right after the first time he visited the White House.
He came back from that visit with his ego so puffed up that his coat buttons were straining to keep him contained.
I watched him for a while just to see if there was a change in him. It was obvious that he had consumed too much koolaid while he was hanging out with the president. I quit watching him soon after my suspicions about him falling in love with Obama were confirmed.

The Tea Party was fine and good, I guess, until it actually lived up to it’s promise to bite the hands that hurt it, in their uncompromising quest for real freedom to return to this country. O’Reilly is no Conservative, and I wish people would stop trotting him out as one. He’s never been any more than a worthless ‘centrist’, and I have no respect for ‘moderates/centrists’. Comparing “Tea Party” to 60′s radicals is way off base because their foundation was violence and communism (or another ism).
Congressional Tea Party reps are there to hold the line on spending, and acquiescing to sellout commonly known as “compromise” would hurt them and all other Republicans in the next few elections due to the massive defection from the Reps and shift to a 3rd party movement.
Supporting an undefined compromise is as idiotic as supporting a 2400 page bill before reading it. Cut, Cap, and balance is a compromise as well, except it’s on the basis that “we” define the terms.
As far as his comments about the Tea Party negatively influencing the average voter— I agree, but the Tea Party has toned down the activism (because they’re not activists), however, that should not be confused with diminished resolve. Tea Party will be as okay as it could be with the media and the political powers that be relentlessly attacking them. It would happen regardless, however, with the low profile they are keeping, there isn’t a whole lot of evidence to back the continued attacks and I think they’ll survive this political game.

Just remembered a post from June 2nd about how Fox started treating Gov. Palin. It was about the time I stopped watching O’Reilly since he obviously had his shnozz near Roger Ailes’ posterior. I have not seen anywhere that the Tea Party has been unreasonable. The only one who is unreasonable is Mr. O’Reilly and as some has commented if it doesn’t pertain to him then it is unreasonable.

His charge on Tea Party as fanatical like yippie movement and a radical party was way far-beyond bogus, as CNN polls indicated that 66% (2/3) of American support Cut Cap and Balanced (CCB) and 74% support on Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA).
