***UPDATE***

John Bolton said that now is the time to increase pressure on the Taliban and not withdraw troops as Obama and Jon Huntsman want to do. For Obama especially, Bolton believes this is nothing more than a political decision. He adds this:

I know as you said a moment ago that people question the cost. What’s the cost of not defending ourselves? This is not a choice between fighting in Afghanistan and rebuilding America. It’s a choice between a safe America and an unsafe America. What do you put the cost to that?

SideNote: Allen West will be on Hannity tonight giving the rebuttal to Obama’s Afghanistan withdrawal speech.

UPDATE: New York Times is reporting that our Community-Organizer-in-Chief will withdraw 10,000 troops this year and 20,000 by next summer, faster than Pentagon advised.

The problem is Obama has done next to nothing to show the american people why he is even in Afghanistan. I do not know if I agree with Bolton or not since we do not even hear what is happeniing over there. I do think that if the war is being run by Obama it is best just to come home becaue he will not rally around the troops and give a good reason for why we are there.

The BinLaden timing was not a coincidence – nothing is with this regime.

I would not be surprised if Obama basically says “When I campaigned I told you this was the good war, not the bad war Bush was pursing. We killed BinLaden and a bunch of the other 911 badguys so now it is time to pull out the troops. Without AlQueda around, the Tah-Lee-Bahn are not so bad on their own so we’ll get a little peace treaty going and things will be great”

Yeah, the Tah-Lee-Bahn………………doesn’t it just kill ya’ the way he pronounces things.

Lest we forget our “Corps Men”.

        Oh, God help us.

Instead of increasing pressure on the Taliban, Robert Gates confirmed that the U.S. is negotiating with them. http://poorrichardsnews.com/post/6708052762/us-begins-negotiating-with-the-taliban-update-robert Up is down. Left is right. What in the world is going on?

Whether he’s right or wrong, that’s a losing message for anyone’s campaign. Bolton HAS to know that the country is tired of Afghanistan. Even if he’s right, they won’t want to hear it. Can’t possibly imagine him having any real shot if he chooses to run.

        Roger That!
Kick out ALL the media from the country.
Give Gen. Petraeus 6 months to solve the problem
Remove the current “rules of engagement” statute.
Turn our boys loose to do their job they have been trained for.
        Problem solved.

Things would have been very different if not for the changes in the ROE.

I can’t get past Huntsman putting in his two cent.

John Huntsman is not a Conservative, is not even close to Ronald Reagan. Don’t trust him. He’s a fraud who wants Cap and Trade. Mark Levin talked about it tonight. I hope John Bolton runs for President.

If the US is engaged in hostilities in other countries, and is sacrificing itself for the sake of other countries, by either gaining less, or nothing in return for its efforts, then it is not only an immoral war, but also an unjust war.

However, if the US stands to (net) gain from engaging in hostilities in other countries, then it is a moral war, and a just war.

US Self-interest requires that the US have a (net) gain from those hostilities, and not be sacrificing itself for the sake of any other country.

Apply this principle to recent US wars:

    1. The Vietnam War sacrificed the US for the sake of South Vietnam.
    = Net loss.

    2. The Gulf War sacrificed the US for the sake of the state of Kuwait.
    = Net loss.

    3. The War on Terrorism was a war of self-interest, sacrificing the US to nobody. It was a retaliation against the actual threat (of Al’Qaeda) to the US.
    = Net gain.

    4. The War in Afghanistan sacrificed the US for the sake of the Afghan people.
    = Net loss.

    5. The War in Iraq sacrificed the US for the sake of the Iraqi people.
    = Net loss.

…As you can see, the majority of the recent wars have been immoral and unjust ALTRUISTIC WARS, wherein the US sacrificed itself for the sake of other countries. The only moral and just war, out of all these wars, was the direct retaliation against Al’Qaeda, in the War on Terrorism.

Nobody challenges the basic moral premise behind the four altruistic wars I mentioned above, because the dominant morality in the US today, is altruism. Until the US learns that altruism is not only immoral, but also unjust, then there will be other wars of altruism in the future, in which the US is sacrificed for the sake of other countries. To fight against such wars, one must fight against the morality which lies at their root.

President John Bolton would be so nice. I would probably sleep nights again. I know he’s a mere man, but I know he loves America. I know he would do everything in his power for America and would never betray her or her citizens.
