It’s the only way I know to make Romney get fierce like he was in the primaries:

I get it. We plant a bobble-Newt-head in the front row. Brilliant.

Obama seemingly hovers above the fray with a dismissive sneer of over confidence.

Romney needs to strategically strike arrow piercing blows into Obama’s narcissistic elitist demeanor bubble

Once rattled obama will lose his composure and focus and begin his stuttering brain freeze as in the past.

See? This is exactly what conservatives were warning about Romney back in the primaries.

Please please do! That's why McCain sucked, he wouldn't vet him. We need and the people need to hear just what Obamster is all about! Lies, corruption, bullying, threatening Chicago Thugery at its best. Its all the community organizer knows how to do.

TeaPartyReaganConservative
TeaPartyReaganConservative

The liberal progressive GOP RINO establishment hates Conservatives, especially Tea Party Reagan Conservatives, the very people that fight their political battles on the streets for them, giving the GOP party victories, and even majorities in power, then betrays the very grass roots people who win their political battles for them by colluding with the enemy- ie; Obama and the Democrats against their own base. Tell me, what sense does that make..

It only makes sense if you're an arrogant elitist 2 faced back stabbing GOP establishment RINO. This is why we Tea Party Reagan Conservatives, aka We the People, must and will rid the GOP party of every RINO we can, period. This is why they, the GOP RINOs like Boehner blatantly arrogantly changed the GOP delegate rules during the RNC Convention, to make it harder for us grass roots Tea Party American people, to elect and install Conservatives to fight and remove them from their self-proclaimed elitist entitled permanent political class seat of power. Too bad, we the people are coming after all them.

And Mitt Romney will not govern as a liberal progressive GOP RINO President, as we will force his hand to apply and implement more Conservative policies and agenda. ie; the reversal of ALL of Obama's unconstitutional laws, decrees, policies, etc.. ie; Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, the Dream, as well as reducing the govt agencies budgets, size, and personnel like the IRS, EPA, etc, along with stopping the sequestration of forced mandatory cuts to the US Military that is Obama's dismantlement of our US Defense capabilities, by the liberals in Congress.. thus restoring the US Military to required superpower US strength, needed to fight the enemies of America, and not be the enemy of America from within, as Obama has clearly and incontrovertibly shown he is.

I do admit Romney had a good time against Newt but I wish it was Newt debating Obama anyway. I'm behind Romney in the same fashion as Brietbart was, 'if your not in my foxhole, you're on the other side.' Newt is in our fox hole and he has some good stuff to say. If Mitt can use the same demeanor against 0 as he did against Newt it'd be cool, but by the same token seeking advice or consulting Newt on how to handle some issues can only behoove Mitt. Newt knows a lot of stuff, I think the smartest of them all in the primaries. He knows the ways each issue interweaves with other issues. By the way, sign up for The Blaze at glenn becks site. Its free for a week and his two part special on the Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of our gov't is an eyeopener. If we don't open the eyes in our head very soon our other eye is gonna be pried open with a book, and it ain't the Bible.

I was kinda hoping he'd pick Newt as his 'coach' for the debates. Maybe some of that fortitude would have rubbed off.

Killing the enemy with kindness is clearly the wrong strategy. The Marine Corps has a saying: if you find yourself in a fair fight, there's something wrong with your tactics.

Mitt better start throwing body blows instead of jabs. Ths is a heavyweight title fight, and there aren't that many rounds left.

Makes sense! Romney was awesome at Republican debates and the visual of Gingrich really helped then and can boost his performance at the Presidential Debates too!

Great idea, Scoop! Tell Mitt that Obama has dropped out of the race and that he will be running against Newt Gingrich. He will come out swinging and bury Newt, er, Obama.

InaudibleNoise
InaudibleNoise

I agree with you totally, Right Scoop! The only thing I can figure out, based on the Mother Jones video, is Mitt fully believes he will only win the election by getting the "independent" voters and those who regret voting for BO last time. He has also determined this can only be accomplished by taking a soft tone and merely pointing out BO just wasn't cut out to be POTUS. He even said people don't want to be told they made a mistake last time, or did something wrong by voting for BO. Until Mitt gets that ridiculous thought out of his head and wakes up to the fact that normal Americans are grown up enough to handle the truth, I fear we will continue to see more of the 'he is a nice guy, but' silliness.

Awwww, don't be that hard on Newt. He was only trying to get elected. I think Romney is plenty motivated to go after Obama. Whatever you may think about Romney, he's not about to stand by while a rank socialist tries to destroy this country. Capitalism and the defense of capitalism ("you didn't build that") will make Romney come out swinging during these debates, and you may thank GOD for it.

NJK

That's funny. Obama doesn't deserve to be treated as nice, he's not nice.

K-Bob
K-Bob

Exactly.

As the old saying goes, "It doesn't matter how nice you are to your friends and associates; if you're not nice to the help, you're not nice."

Same with Obama and the Unites States. It doesn't matter how nice he is to his friends and some foolish, phony conservatives like David Brooks. It doesn't matter how hard he says he's focusing on jobs, and "fighting" for the middle class.

He's destroying the middle class and jobs. He's destroying our energy independence by forcing the shutdown of coal, and plans on shutting down gas development in the shale zones. No folks, whatever he is, he is far from "nice." Not even to his own family (his brother still lives in a hut).

You are exactly right; he was RUTHLESS against any Republican who stood in his path to the nomination. Yet now, when we need him to go after the man who really is the enemy, he plays softball. Someone please explain.

i think he used to have a gig on PBS, where he said "hello boys and girl"

147DegreesWest
147DegreesWest

Romney wants to treat the Obama supporters "gingerly." That means he wants to be nice to them. He values the Dems more than us. I have no idea how to make him mad. He never hesitated to attack Republicans, but he seems unwilling to attack Democrats. He values Sharia Chris Christie over conservative Christians. We tried giving Romney cover this summer when Harry Reid was hawking his imaginary friend, and he couldn't be bothered to eat a chicken sandwich or wave to the nice people. Indeed, he took the opportunity to side with the Gay Rights folks in the Boy Scout thing; he actually rejects help.

I've never seen anything like it.

He is being "handled" by consultants. I have no idea who the "consultants" are, but what I do know is that if Romney loses, they should be black listed from ever running a campaign again. They should be sent to live in Northern Alaska among the Athabaskan in a dry cabin for penance and forced to live on a diet of rabbit, dried fish, whale blubber, and caribou hide. These consultants are the same people who lost McCain. They live in urban areas, hate rural areas, and look down their nose at the vast majority of America as being "provincial" and "unwashed." They bashed Palin and Newt; they would bash West if they could figure out how to without losing Florida.

The problem is that Romney is not running as a team. He is running as a lone wolf with no connection to the senate races. He made a major FUBAR in Missouri. If Romney expects me to "get over" HIS gaffes and support him, the HE should be able to get over Akin's gaffes and back him.

Romney's people have used future SCOTUS appointments as a reason to elect him. Well, if SCOTUS is so important, why are these people not getting behind Emken in CA? Beating Feinstein should be a top priority. Why are Romney's peeps and his consultants blowing that off? Where is the NRA? I don't get it; Feinstein is an important senior member of the Senate Judiciary.

Why isn't Romney all over Illinois? Even Allen West has helped there with endorsements! We have a chance to make Chicago a blue dot on a red state, and yet, silence from team Romney. Again, I don't get it, and I don't know what to say. I am totally flabberghasted. When I was there, I had people apologizing for Obama and what he has done to my adopted state; regularly people would say they didn't know and asked how can they help. I would just tell them to win their local races and make Illinois Red Again. I just don't get what Romney's problem is.... and what he is doing, but it is like he is complicit with Obama. His messaging is wrong, his strategy is wrong, and woman voters have no confidence in him because he is as much a wimp and an appeaser as Obama.

Start looking to your state legislatures and your local races. Move to places where succession is viable. I don't know what else to tell you, but the consequences of Romney's strategy will be catastrophic to the United States and the world.

It's funny you mention this as I was thinking about that yesterday. The one person who got Romney's panties in a bunch was Gingrich! And boy, did Romney let him have at it! I believe this debate lost it for Gingrich!

This is getting exciting to watch and look forward to October 3! Thanks RS!

i've been a huge Newt fan for years. his Fla debate was very atypical. either he was sick , or for some other reason was "flaccid". but that's "water over the bridge", isn't it? i had hoped that Newt wpould somehow be involved in the Romney campaign, but after his recent appearance on CNN, i doubt it

THANK YOU for seeing the light, Scoop! It's very obvious. The only way to turn Romney into John Wayne is for Showbama to be a Republican. Right now? Romney's doing his best Eric Roberts.

Netanyahu tells it like it is to Iran during his speech at the UN Assembly. Booyah!! This is why I like this guy :D

I agree that there should be a clear red line, but I don't necessarily agree that it will force Iran to back down...especially with Obama in office. Iran will test the line, and if they do we have to show them we mean business and we were serious.

SilentTexan
SilentTexan

Of course they won't. They are determined to follow the word of Allah and slaughter those who oppose him. It's what they lived for. And you know very well Obama's not going to show them "who's boss" when all he wants to do is become "friends with the bully". I hope and pray Isreal can hold out until after Romney's IN the oval office to get our full support, but I fear Iran's not going to wait that long. The minute they find a way to create nuclear weapons, it's over for both of Isreal and the US!

kong1967
kong1967

Israel would be in immediate jeopardy because they are within striking range and it would only take one to do massive damage. Nukes can't be built overnight, so Iran would be anniahlated before they had a chance to strike the U.S....as long as Obama is gone before then. Even if they strike Israel before Romney is office, I think it takes more capability than they have to hit the U.S., unless they sneak in dirty bombs or something.

Regardless of their ability to hit us, we cannot let them hit Israel no matter what. I like Reagan's message. We will turn Iran into a parking lot, and it's looking more and more like we should.

Netanyahu: 'We will never be uprooted again'

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/09/27/netanyahu-will-never-be-uprooted-again/

"Throughout our history the Jewish people have overcome all the tyrants who sought our destruction," he said. "The Jewish people have come home. We will never be uprooted again."

He is quoting the Bible here...

"I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them," says the LORD your God." Amos 9:15

(I can't believe they would use THAT picture of him doing a Hitler greeting)

This is true and sad all at once. We NEWT supporters tried to tell people that Romney would be a whimp. Would you listen? Nope. Are you regretful now? Not enough. Are you ashamed of yourselves? You should be.

Everyone of you who supported Little Ricky Sanctimonious SweaterVest Santorum in his bid to split the conservative vote to protect Romney, by plagerizing Newt's talking points, can thank yourselves for the Romney nomination.

Everyone of you who supported a non serious candidate in Ron Paul and his non-vetting of Romney and attacks on Newt are also personally responsible for this.

Pat yourselves on the backs now, and don't you DARE push for a third party, Obama must be evicted, even if we have to accept what you produced begrudgingly, this little trip through hell has to be done and over.

I wasn't against Santorum, though. I supported any and every conservative who would stay in the race. A lot of folks did not do that. THAT'S why Romney.

Galatiansch2vs20

This is uncalled for, and not helpful, Oil_Ranger.

Santorum had his own campaign and his own plan for America, worked extremely hard to become the nominee and to defeat Romney, and won eleven contests with less money than Romney. There was a great deal of enthusiasm for Santorum's message out there and he did very well.

But Romney is the candidate now, the election is still coming up, and playing the blame game about how he became the candidate and speaking condescendingly to people who did not support Gingrich's candidacy is not going to help anything.
