Only slightly off topic, but am I the only one who thinks Angelina Jolie just isn't hot? I don't get it?
This is a real shocker since Pitt and Jolie support Obama and his regime. Good for Brad's Mom for speaking out. We need more Hollywood celebrity's families speaking out just like this brave lady.
If she is a Christian lady, why does she allow herself to associate with the wicked? She adores the attention more than she adores her supposed Lord, Jesus Christ. A Christian is instructed NOT to associate with wicked people. Another professing Christian.
Actually, we are instructed to be "Salt and Light" and to "love our enemies". To be "in this world, but not of this world." Mrs. Pitt is doing exactly what God calls each of us to do; shed light on the darkness. May God continue to bless, encourage and protect her as she speaks out to defend the truth.
Good for her. She's not one of those mom's who believes every thing their child does or believes is A ok.
"Parents know best".. That's gotta piss brad off! I love it. Self-absorbed --- -----!
Goooo Jane & Jon!!
Why can't these kids listen to their wise elders?! Good for Mrs. Pitt!! Good for her to speak out, much the way Angelina's dad Jon Voit does. This would be a nice trend :-)
Oh the newspaper that the Complete letter is located in, What a Great Discussion with Liberals that are Truly pathetic I have had for two full days.
I had one liberal by the name of Karen Whittle Give me the name of Thomas Day, who was an abolitionist, who slammed our Declaration of Independence. I said to her your going to use Thomas Day, do you know who Thomas Day is, do you know what he did?
She did not know that Thomas Day was an Abolitionist who lived in England and Was a Pedophile by today's terms. In other words, his whole mission in life was to "TRAIN" women to be his wife. When he couldn't find a woman to be his wife, he adopted an 11 year old girl and a 12 year old girl that he kept in Isolation to train them.
When a Liberal brings up a Man like Thomas Day to state that our Constitution was a slave document, and that we are not a Christian Nation, you know they are really pathetic insignificant little ants that are just bent on Destroying our nation.
By the Way she kept asking what are the rights guaranteed to you by God. She did not understand nor did she read what an Unalienable right was, and or that it was in the Declaration of Independence. The Most astonishing thing I find is how people don't even know the Constitution and the Declaration are Joined Together. In Article VII The Constitution attaches itself to the Declaration by dating itself as being signed in the twelfth year of the independence of the United States of America!
It doesn't matter if his mother is a Christian! It is true that Obama sucks, but why should it be relevant that Mrs Pitt is a Christian? In fact, Brad Pitt is probably a Christian, too. The vast majority of Americans are Christians, and very few are atheists.
I am reminded of that old country song "Momma Tried" by Merle Haggard.
A lot of times children just want to go a different direction. Most citizens of this country are rather conservative. Therefore, liberalism is a way to be set apart as younger, smarter, more important/elite, etc. Not surprising when one considers gov education. If teachers and professors were employed by private companies, I'll bet there would be a change in rhetoric. ....anyway, "Momma Tried"
Boy, I sure am glad Jane Pitt wrote this and it is making the rounds. I am absolutely convinced Obama doesn't have a chance now.
Mrs. Pitt sounds like what this country is based on. Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight, is an outspoken critic of Obama and his administration too.
She seems like a nice lady. I'm glad that she was brave enough to say her point of view.
O/T - Update on the Boogie Southern Compound
Hey folks, just jumping in to let you know we got tha powah once more! Electricity transmission pros from many states have been here working exhaustively to get everyone back online, and ours was restored within hours of being exactly one week since the rare, straight-line storm flashed through here on its way to the east coast. I know that's "just what they do," but I'm grateful for those guys and all their hard work in hundred-degree heat and zero breeze.
I still don't know how many trees we lost, because of the concerns of removing the one from our garage and also the one blocking the driveway and the one on the road making a travel hazard. I'll take stock of it all later. I did discover we have one down on a phone line, and one blocking the barn road, too. Those will have to be removed this coming week. Country living means work. But the up-side is we don't care about dandelions and weeds in the yard, and we don't feed and water the lawn.
Curiously, the worst tree damage was confined to a swath about a hundred feet wide, and all the downed trees are pointing the same direction. Many of them simply snapped from over-bending, with the snapping point being about ten to fourteen feet up the trunk. Several were mature trees, from 60 to about 150 years of age. It's just God's way of reminding us who's boss, and also that you shouldn't put off the preparatory tasks that help you survive these situations. Some of those tasks would have made this past week FAR more comfortable.
I had no idea I was capable of sweating so much. Good to know all the pores work, I guess. It was, and remains quite hot. But now we have water and fans, so I can begin the long job of cutting and stacking wood, and burning the waste.
For those of you who have fireplaces and woodstoves: I'd expect this year to be an excellent one to lay in a few extra cords of hardwood, since people like me will be giving it away, just to get the yard space back.
I won't have much time for the Internets this weekend, but I should be back more regular-like next week.
Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers!
(I'll move this to an open thread if Scoop puts one up later)
Good to hear you and your family are alright. Good to have you back.
On a lighter note:
'But the up-side is we don't care about dandelions and weeds in the yard, and we don't feed and water the lawn.' - K-Bob
I'm jealous. :)
Heh. When it comes to the lawn, out here it's "survival of the fittest." As my good buddy from my band says, "If it wants to grow, it'll grow."
And Thanks!
BONUS: I ended-ed up with a new chainsaw, and some new steel-toed boots.

Hey at least the potential votes cancel each other out.Brad & Angelia will vote Obama and Mama Pitt an Voight will vote conservative. It's the motley crew of kids you have to worry about.I'm sure with no voter ID laws they will all be casting votes on way or another.
Having come from conservative parents who accepted my liberal leanings in my teen years, actually loved me thru it. Hope Ma Pitt and Brad agree to disagree(if he is still a left leaner, or wife follower) with love intact.
Lol, that insinuates that she didn't have one until she finally grew one. She's probably been conservative for a good number of years. I know what you mean, though.
Oh, I like her. Good upbringing doesn't necessarily yield good adult offspring.M ore often than not, if good parents aren't enough, a come-to-Jesus moment is necessary.
Environment has a lot to do with how children turn out too. Hanging out with junk yields junk. Hang out with people with an operating moral compass, and peer pressure will kick in in a positive way. But I still think that the formative years between 3 to maybe 6 years is the key to making or breaking a child. That's still no guarantee of success. But it beats letting the schools and peers raise your children.
It doesn't take a village to raise a child. Just two good parents. One mother and one father.
what's also amusing as well as heartening, is that Angelina's dad, Jon Voight is a tea party supporter. So, the two of these Hollywood libs are getting from both sides! this cracks me up and is encouraging to hear
For sure. It makes me wonder sometimes if people like Jolie/Pitt aren't putting on a show to keep their Hollyweird jobs. I've heard that happens with some hollywood conservatives.
Maybe, but there are other outspoken Conservative actors, Patricia Heaton comes to mind. Oh, and now if this isn't a psychologist's dream, I don't know what is- Stephen Baldwin, who is an outspoken Christian conservative vs. his lunitic leftist brother Alec.
LOL! I was just thinking of those two people! I didn't know Stephen was a Christian, though. How cool! Must make for fun family get-togethers at the Baldwin's! ~_^
It's difficult to figure out how Brad Pitt turns out to be liberal - I am not going to say so liberal, I'll leave that to Matt Damon who has a union mother - but I believe they are under a lot of pressure to play the liberal card. It is unfathomable that stars that are heroes on the silver screen could cow down to the liberal left under some fraternity code.
They have to be part of the Actors Guild Union to get jobs...
Personally I don't think anyone should have to join or pay a Union in order to work.
National Right to Work
some people don't take the road less traveled. It's much more rewarding but also more difficult.
Couldn't agree more. All I can think of is that they think they might get some share of the power. Or, maybe, they really haven't thought about it at all but just go with what sounds nice, as in the case of some of my family.
Brad Pitt is an opportunistic Hollywood-type, as is Ms. Jolie-Pitt, or whatever she calls herself these days. She has distanced herself from her father over his political views, somehow, I can't see her as a conservative of any kind.
I'm with you on that L. Why should we spend our hard earned money on these liberals so they can send obama huge donations?
A taxpayer voting Obama is like a chicken voting Colonel Sanders
Yes, I saw it also and thought Dana did a great job. And her points were well-taken.
What I like to do is take the money I would spend buying a movie or going to a movie that has a liberal star or co-star in it and using the funds to support Conservative causes.
If more people would speak with their dollars and not support these liberal Hollywood-types, they would soon be whining and complaining. I will not support any entertainment-type who frall into that category.
I agree. I just saw a nice segment from Dana Loesch (sp?) filling in on gbtv, and she spoke about supporting the conservatives in hollywood and in music who are good (Voight, Vaughn, Heaton, et al). Your comment reminded me of that. She has other good points in that segment too. Anyhow, I feel the same way about their acting. They're not very good actors. It always bugs me, though, when you come across someone whose acting you like, but you just absolutely hate everything they stand for. :-/
I'm not a fan of either one of them, both for their acting and their personal lives. They have 8 or so kids and not married? Adopting out of country? What's wrong with kids from the US?
She is a humanitarian, for who? The UN? Another corrupt organization.
As for their movies and acting abilities-again, a personal thing - I won't watch their movies and support them because a), IMHO, neither can act and b), I won't support Hollywood type lifestyles that are so phoney.
Maybe so. I'm not saying that of them necessarily. Just that I've heard of it happening.
Jane seems to have raised her kids right and Jon tried to make amends for the hurtful words he said regarding Angelina's addiction. I believe they have made peace but Angie still keeps her distance. But overall, they are awesome because they value conservatism and love their country.
Really, I thought he was the offspring of three or four fathers. I wonder which is most ashamed of which in the Pitt family.
Sometime ago the tabloids mentioned that she was pretty close to Brad's former wife. It was a sure sign that she was not happy with their marriage falling apart. But I never thought she was conservative. I applaud her for coming out despite the liberal backlash.
I was aware of Jon and Angelina's falling out and that they are unable to make amends but I never knew Brad Pitt had a mother until now.
