Spot on. Let me quote Ann Coulter (yeah, I know, but she's an excellent researcher...):
Let's take a romp down memory lane and review the typical Obama campaign strategy. Obama became a U.S. senator only by virtue of David Axelrod's former employer, the Chicago Tribune, ripping open the sealed divorce records of Obama's two principal opponents.
One month before the 2004 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate, Obama was down in the polls, about to lose to Blair Hull, a multimillionaire securities trader. But then the Chicago Tribune leaked the claim that Hull's second ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their 1998 divorce proceedings.
Those records were under seal, but as The New York Times noted: "The Tribune reporter who wrote the original piece later acknowledged in print that the Obama camp had 'worked aggressively behind the scenes' to push the story." Many people said Axelrod had "an even more significant role -- that he leaked the initial story."
Both Hull and his ex-wife opposed releasing their sealed divorce records, but they finally relented in response to the media's hysteria -- 18 days before the primary. Hull was forced to spend four minutes of a debate detailing the abuse allegation in his divorce papers, explaining that his ex-wife "kicked me in the leg and I hit her shin to try to get her to not continue to kick me."
After having held a substantial lead just a month before the primary, Hull's campaign collapsed with the chatter about his divorce. Obama sailed to the front of the pack and won the primary. Hull finished third with 10 percent of the vote.
As luck would have it, Obama's opponent in the general election had also been divorced! Jack Ryan was tall, handsome, Catholic -- and shared a name with one of Harrison Ford's most popular onscreen characters! He went to Dartmouth, Harvard Law and Harvard Business School, made hundreds of millions of dollars as a partner at Goldman Sachs, and then, in his early 40s, left investment banking to teach at an inner city school on the South Side of Chicago.
Ryan would have walloped Obama in the Senate race. But at the request of -- again -- the Chicago Tribune, California Judge Robert Schnider unsealed the custody papers in Ryan's divorce five years earlier from Hollywood starlet Jeri Lynn Ryan, the bombshell Borg on "Star Trek: Voyager."
Jack Ryan had released his tax records. He had released his divorce records. But both he and his ex-wife sought to keep the custody records under seal to protect their son.
Amid the 400 pages of filings from the custody case, Jack Ryan claimed that his wife had had an affair, and she counterclaimed with the allegation that he had taken her to "sex clubs" in Paris, New York and New Orleans, which drove her to fall in love with another man.
(Republicans: If you plan a career in public office, please avoid marrying a wacko.)
Ryan had vehemently denied her allegations at the time, but it didn't matter. The sex club allegations aired on "Entertainment Tonight," "NBC Nightly News," ABC's "Good Morning America," "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," and NBC's "Today" show. CNN covered the story like it was the first moon landing.
(Interestingly, international papers also were ablaze with the story -- the same newspapers that were supposed to be so bored with American sexual mores during Bill Clinton's sex scandal.)
Four days after Judge Schnider unsealed the custody records, Ryan dropped out of the race for the horror of (allegedly) propositioning his own wife and then taking "no" for an answer.
Alan Keyes stepped in as a last-minute Republican candidate.
And that's how Obama became a U.S. senator. He destroyed both his Democratic primary opponent and his Republican general election opponent with salacious allegations about their personal lives taken from "sealed" court records.
Obama's team delved into Sarah Palin's marriage and spread rumors of John McCain's alleged affair in 2008 and they smeared Herman Cain in 2011 with hazy sexual harassment allegations all emanating from David Axelrod's pals in Chicago.
It's easy when you have good material. Ann Coulter is never someone I want to hear from again on who should be the nominee, but she knows her stuff when it comes to identifying the left.

Well now that the General isn't working for Barry anymore, the libs can revert to calling him 'Gen. Betray-Us' like they did when he worked for Bush.

so obvious!!! This keeps getting worse and worse. We have some bad people in the White House that are going out of their way to cover things up. Now the CIA Director does'nt have to testify. How Convenient for Obama! All i can say is to the people who voted Obama in You will get what you asked for and you deserve. Dont be fooled it wont be the Rich that suffers. They always find a way to cut back to make money. It will be the people who voted him in...
The big question is, will the Senate eventually force him to testify about Benghazi? Just because he is no longer in government does not mean Congress can't force him to testify. But will they? I think they will, especially if they think Obama engineered a coverup. This is worse than Watergate. We have four dead Americans here, one of them a US ambassador, and very few answers. I think he'll testify.
The Senate is controlled by Dems so no. We need to count on Issa's Committee to issue a subpoena. Betrayus will lawyer up and claim the 5th.
Most of that is at the top. Remember Ty Woods and the men out in Benghazi. They were heroic, saved 32 lives, died with honor, fought with honor. And all our men and women are volunteers to defend in military or Intel service. We need to pick great leaders. People who have love of our nation, not love of an ideology.
All I can think of is Romney's behavior, singing patriot songs, professing his conviction in our heritage and institutions. We failed him. He and his family stood tall under fanatic attacks. We all need to get real and get tougher.
We did not fail him. We on Scoop and 57 m others supported him even if he wasn't our first choice. Romney failed to rally by constantly praising Barky Boy and wasn't sufficiently prepared to nail him during the last 2 debates. He left the mittens on. Never did I hear about Barky Boy's relationship with Bill Ayers, GDTUS Wright, etc. Same mistake as 2008 with the same result.
First, I didn't want a perfect candidate. I wanted a businessman and that was Herman Cain. I supported Romney when he became the candidate and even wen to the Paul Ryan rally.
Second, I didn't want Romney to attack other than in the debates, I wanted the Super Pacs to and Romney told them to stand down.
None of that stuck in 2008. Romney would never attack like that. He attacked on the substance issues. And he did real damage.
No one is perfect. The press ran interference. They interrupted continually, teamed up with Obama, like it was a Primary debate not one on one.
You and others who wanted a perfect candidate with a perfect campaign need to tell me who today anywhere on the planet earth could fill the bill.

Well, I guess it doesn't surprise me that anyone has an affair, but I didn't exactly predict it either.
The Reason Petraeus was appointed CIA directed was he was already blackmailable. The FBI knew months earlier he was in an affair while on duty as General in charge of our war in Afghanistan.
They are still not identifying the journalist woman. Was she American? Was she a swallow from some other nation?
It all gave Obama a puppet to use in the Agency. Why did the FBI let him take control of the Agency? Who is being blackmailed over there?
And the FBI has been in charge of the clusterf**k investigation of Benghazi. The FBi clearly is compromised somewhere near the top.
This will make a great book or two. If the nation survives the subversion of our Defenses.

It is clear the FBI told the WH or he would never have been cleared for CIA. It's been going on for years. He was compromised by Obama.

This is what I hope.
Obama was holding this over his head.
He said screw that, told his wife and resigned.
He said he will not testify knowing that he will be subpoenaed.
Then he can screw the prez.
Knew there was SOMETHING going against Petraeus. Didn't know what. So this is expected except the unexpected details.
