Awesome:

FOX NEWS – Jon Hammar, the U.S. Marine imprisoned in Mexico on a gun charge, will be released today, his mother told Fox News Radio.

Olivia Hammar said the judge hearing Hammar’s case issued a ruling in his favor and that her son is to be released at a time on Friday yet to be announced. No more details were available. Hammar, 27, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been stuck in a notorious, drug cartel-controlled prison just 15 miles south of the U.S. border since Aug. 13, after he crossed into Mexico and declared an antique shotgun to Mexican customs officials.

News of his pending release came just a day after a letter surfaced from Mexico’s ambassador to the U.S. that insisted Hammar’s case would go to trial.

“This circumstance requires that he remain under detention during the duration of his trial,” Arturo Sarukhan said in the letter.

Great tweeted a little over a half hour ago that Jon Hammar has been released from the Mexican jail. I'll try and monitor for updates and post back on this thread.

That was quick. She just tweeted that Jon Hammar's attorney just called her and he is in the UNITED STATES

Now go, " Hang 10", and may God watch over you.

Love that curmudgeon, Billy O'Reilly ...a fine BROTH of a Fox Cable lad..and let's not forget his enablers, Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes.

stepping in for the Two AWOL, "Kraven Kreeps," hiding - in - the- hinterlands"eg:

Hillary: the 2016 candidate for any of the following: President; Ambassador to Benghazi; Queen; or, restoration to the Staff of the Nixon Watergate cmte. from which she was fired for various nefarious contretemps; and

Barry, "Br'er Rabbit" Obama: that matinee Idol of the 99%; architect of many mansions of revolutionary endeavor and obviously too preoccupied with his current commission to unchain an ex GI (only a marine corporal) for fear Mexico might shut off the Niagara of northbound illegals needed to collapse the tents of the stateside bourgeoisie.... and eventuate a final transition to a, "Banana Republic", electorate.

Third term? Bet he retains Hugo Chavez as consultant-in-chief.

I'll feel better once he's back safely on US soil. I don't trust the Mexicans as far as I can spit, and that ain't far.

For Caucasian Americans jailed in Mexico's jails and prisons -- it is truly the stuff of nightmares.

Don't get your hopes up too much.

Mexico's notorious for announcing the 'releasing' of jailed Americans only to renege on their 'assurance' and they'll delay releases for weeks -- or even months -- then they blame it on their judges and courts. The fact of the matter is though -- a 'ransom' must be paid in every and all scenarios involving imprisoned Americans be it a legitimate arrest or not. 'Not' way way more often being the case.

Although in this case -- as in very few other cases in recent memory -- it may be high profile enough that they'll keep their word.

I know. I live in San Diego and it happened to me personally once after years and years of going to Mexico with zero problems or issues down there. I've never set foot in Mexico since -- and I never will again.

Oh you can bet that there's some 'Mordida' rapped up in this release somewhere.

'Mordida' (the bite, in English) is a Spanish slang word for bribery.

Flatfoot, you are correct with what you have shared. In Mexico everything has a price on-it. Mexico is all about extortion, and gaming off American's is nothing knew. You right about this case being high profiled. Never enter a country and think because we are American's, that fact automatically makes us safe.....? nothing can be further from the truth. The mere fact a person/ or person's from America makes us their number one target. It's all about money.

I thought for awhile I was gonna have to get some vets together and go down to the local Mexican consulate and burn their damn flag or something. I think it is no thanks to Obama either, if he is released. It is because of threats to their piss poor economy.

This is wonderful news. It's my understanding that there were private citizens in Mexico who were behind this movement to return US Marine Jon Hammar. That in it's-self helps restores some of my faith in humanity. For even in a third world country such as "Mexico" there is also hope. As for our esteemed POTUS: and I use that term loosely' this captivity should have never come to this and for any of our citizen's who are being held captive foreign or domestic.

Shame-on this administration and God help us America.

I'm happy for Mr. Hammar and his family. No doubt a very Merry Christmas gift to them and to all their prayer's that have been answered.

--

as a side note, and once again, we need to ready our-self's for the fake and pompous PR in regards to Mr. Hammar's return. ~Let there be no-doubt~ that President Narcissist will be front and center and that he deserve's all credit and any accolades in regards to Mr. Hammar's safe return.

"At that point.......... I will have to excuse myself from speaking any further on those thought's"

I hear that Duncan Hunter has been all over this issue trying to get this Marine released. If so, kudos to him.

FlatFoot

Affirmative.

Duncan Hunter Jr. is my Congressman. I live in his district in San Diego. We also happen to be friends with his family. In fact, we've been friends with his family since Duncan Jr was in middle school.

Duncan Hunter (both Jr and Sr) has been all over this epically asinine situation from the beginning -- literally day & night -- putting just about everything else he has cookin' on the back burners until this is resolved.

'Notorious drug controlled cartel prison' and we leave our borders open to a corrupt country and government that is out of control why?

Sober_Thinking

Thank God!

Mexico IS corrupt. While I'm glad there was some internal pressure exerted by Mexican businessmen... this was a corrupt travesty from the beginning.

There will be fanfare when he comes home, watch the announcements from Washington.

The release will be used to cover another oppressive policy being proposed

This is fantastic news! But I will not be comfortable until he is on US soil! No Thanks to Obama or Hilary Clinton!

How long do you think it will take for Obama or her Thighness Clinton to get in front of this and take credit? I say twenty minutes.

You mean hitlary will get off her deathbed to bring Jon home? What a patriot! GAG.

Yeah... I got a bad concussion a few weeks ago and I was fine after a couple of days. I slipped on the driveway, hit my head, knocked out, bad bruise, new scar, headaches, feeling queezy... For a few days I thought I had trouble finding the right words or getting them in the right order... But then better I got that after! ;-)

PS. Personally, I'm glad Pres 0 didnt have a hand in his release.

Well, I probably would have to 'trot through dung' to meet him, when you consider he's usually surrounded by liberal protesters.

wouldn't it be funny if he "politely" declined?

tinlizzieowner

As military or ex-military, If he were to just 'respectfully decline' to meet his Commander in Chief, those 2 words would say all that needs to be said.

Yes, we'd shake his hand, thank him for his service.

Its so funny, I'm friends with a gal that works at our local market and when I run into her, she always gives me the low down on "who" was in.

Shes always; oh my gosh, oh my gosh: guess who was here? Nicholas Cage!!!! Michael Moore!!! Curt Shilling….Brad Paisley….She'll say, I had to run to the break room to get my phone, so I could take a photo.

I'll be thinking why?

When she said Michael Moore, I said- you took your photo with Michael Moore?

(Shes more conservative than I am) She said, yes, I used it as one of the photos on my family Christmas cards.

I might have said hi to Brad Paisely but I probably wouldn't have even recoginized him.

tinlizzieowner

I'm the same way. Precious few politicians impress me. I'd trot through dung to meet Col. Allen West but that's more a military thing than it is a political thing.

Very true and I think his mom will give Barky Boy a verbal dressing down that the MSM could never cover (not like they would) because it would be a series of beep, beep...beep, beep, beep....

If it were us- WE WOULDN'T.

But then- My family is different like that. We don't fawn over "celebrities".

There are a some stand out people in bands, and a handful of politicans we like, but the rest…meh…if we bumped into them in Safeway…we'd probably keep walking.

Wolfie

I'd love to see NObama extend an invite to create a photo-op and the family turning him down flatly - "You didn't help and you could have" or some such... That would be a just fantastic!

tinlizzieowner

After what his parents have been talking about on Fox about the reluctance of the government to do anything, I'd be surprised if he accepted the offer.

Wolfie
Wolfie

It is fantastic news!

By the time the media are done spinning this, NObama will have personally charged down the gates of the prison, took on all the guards, beat them all, grabbed Jon and threw him over his shoulder and charged back to the border on foot!

Just wait...

A small correction, if I may::::

Everything you said---But Michelle will carry him out, in a tank top- showing off those fabulously toned ARMS.
