Secondary Headline: Obama supports the Muslim Brotherhood.
These go hand in hand. First, it’s being reported that Mubarak will say that he is going to step down:
President Hosni Mubarak is expected to say in a speech Tuesday night that he plans on stepping down at the next election scheduled in September, according to Reuters.
He does plan to stay in office until then to meet the demands of the protesters.
Al-Jazeera reports that the Egyptian Embassy in Tel Aviv is making preparations to welcome him into exile.
Secondly and perhaps more importantly, Obama is now supporting the Muslim Brotherhood’s role in a reformed Egyptian government:
The Obama administration said for the first time that it supports a role for groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, a banned Islamist organization, in a reformed Egyptian government.
The organization must reject violence and recognize democratic goals if the U.S. is to be comfortable with it taking part in the government, the White House said. But by even setting conditions for the involvement of such nonsecular groups, the administration took a surprise step in the midst of the crisis that has enveloped Egypt for the last week.
This is really, really bad. Yeah, I know what you are thinking, and he’s making it awfully hard not to think that. Awfully hard. In fact, as I’ve said before, how in the world could be a Christian and advocate for such a group to participate in the governing of Egypt. It’s like Walid Shoebat said in his interview yesterday regarding the false notion that Muslim Brotherhood is a peaceful group that seeks to help the poor:
Does a leopard change it’s spots? It’s very clear that the logo of the Muslim Brotherhood is [Arabic]… That’s on the logo, which means Islam is the solution – Islam to return to Sharia law, instituting Sharia law. Is the Muslim Brotherhood willing to denounce Sharia law? Hardly. They never did. They never will.
So basically, Obama is supporting Sharia law in Egypt if he supports the Muslim Brotherhood. Well, it wouldn’t be the first time. And if you want to argue with me that he said they must reject violence if the US is to be comfortable with them, then you must accept that he is very naive and stupid regarding this group. But I don’t believe someone at his level could be that stupid. He knows what they are and he knows what they are about.
So tell me again that Obama isn’t a Muslim?
