This is great news! I believe Tim is a bonafide conservative, and his voting record proves it (click on the link below to check out his rating by the Madison Project). His score is actually higher than Allen West's. Words mean nothing; the way they vote means everything.

Yes, Colin Powell was one of those bait and switch kind of guys. It's hard to take people by their word these days. It used to be that a person's word was his/her bond. This is why we have to focus on what they do and how they vote. We can't be lazy. We must check their voting record, if they have one. If they don't, we have to look at how they live their lives.
I don't think the Republican Party can be saved or deserves to be saved, though. We need a competitive Conservative Party to challenge the fraudulent, corrupted and infiltrated Republican Party.
If you see the long term needs of the Republican party, this move appointment was a great strategic maneuver. Its not too early to start showing minorities that blacks are part of the future for the Republican party. Excellent move all around, kudos to DeMint, Haley, Scott and all who had an influence in getting the 2016 ball rolling in the right direction as far as attemting to garner the votes of informed and impressionable blacks.
Wow. I'm shocked. I was hearing a lot of chatter about Haley appointing a place holder then in 2014 there would be enough time to find a place holder. Bravo.
Amazing decision. On another note, I can't tell you how much I admire the distinguished gentleman from Spartanburg, Trey Gowdy. I envy you, O' Carolina!

Congratulations Mr. Scott. My prayers are for you to "KEEP THE FAITH BABY." I am not a resident of your state, nor am I a Republican. I want you there to over come the negatives of my two Senators who are (one a Dem. one a RINO of the worst case) left of center.

Hope you're right Wolfie -- however, I remember a man who I thought would make a great, terrific, wonderful president and wanted him to run -- his name was Colin Powell.
No worries, he is a conservative's conservative. If Trey Gowdy vouches for him, he's great in my book!
We shall see what happens. Mrs. Haley wasn't exactly helpful towards conservatism during the republican primary. It's a good pic, but we should still be alert for any foolishness. Just be careful I say.
GREAT News. Did not think Haley had the courage to pick Scott. Thought she would go the RINO route. How is the lame stream media going to spin this about those racist conservatives picking a truely ,qualified, black, successful conservative for the Senate. Good choice Nicki, see you can do it if you try ??
They will attack her as stripping a black man from the House (which they've already one) and ignore he was moved to the Senate. If she appts a white man to the House, will call her a racist again. But we are not surprised are we.

If they pull that old race card, play it back by saying something like: Yes, it's true, and you'd know because you have so many black senators in your party don't you? And then sit and listen for the crickets.
They are going to run into a big conservative wall, this guy is articulate, smart, and best of all, an unapologetic conservative.
Which will make him unpopular with the Bush-Boehner Republicans who are not conservative.
