Unprovoked, a “man” yells out vitriolic hate speech about Sarah Palin to her daughter, and later refers to the elder Palin as “evil.” Ironically, by doing so the accuser is behaving in a manner that itself can be characterized as “evil.” Of course, he can’t cite an example to back up his statement, making his comment unfounded. And he is 47 years old? Really? That’s well past the age when one should hear the phrase “grow up.” But I guess it needs to be said: “grow up.”

Bristol Palin is a strong woman it seems.

Where were the men? Do men not protect women anymore? I saw some with her and she might want to de-friend them. Here in Texas that guy wouldn’t have made it. Am ambulance would be involved. What a coward which is typical Palin hating whack jobs. Why don’t you say that to her older brother when he’s home from Iraq.

Bristol Palin, you are great. This was an absolutely pitch-perfect response. If you stay silent in front of a heckler, this only encourages him to heckle more to see when he can break you. If you beat up a heckler, it makes you the bad guy and makes him the sympathetic hero. The key is to out-hassle someone who is hassling you by asking him questions that he can’t answer because he too dumb to come up with a good series of lies and won’t admit the truth because its too lame.

It works in all kinds of situations. I know because as a first year teacher I had a heckling student for nearly a year before I came up with this solution. Can you imagine what would have happened if I’d taken some of the advice offered here. I would have found myself without a heckler…. and a job.
