It's not supposed to be fair? If government spent tax money on teaching the Historical aspects of Christianity in school- again, would you be OK with that? You claim the separation thing, but much of America's history- like and agree with it or not, is based on the Judeo/Christian Bible, and early text books were heavily influenced by the Bible.

The same thing happened to my ex husband Con. But he was only 9 when it happened to him, and he has had many emotional problems all of his adult life because of it. I'm sorry it happened to you- and glad you've got the Lord and your wife.

Pride parades, for many people, are the only place they feel they can be themselves and in public at the same time. All that display is just excitement, not a representation of how gay people are day to day. Sure, it gets out of hand sometimes, but you don't have to go to the parade.

This whole topic is about a new Law that has been passed to teach Gay history.

What precisely is wrong with teaching American History, is there some implied context in the word American? Aside from the obvious, that it implies a nationality? Throughout my schooling American History was just that, we learned how people of many different ethnic groups all contributed to the formation and advancement of America as a nation. This "Diversity" movement is nothing more than a divisive movement designed to fan hatred and ethnic tensions and subvert the ideal of America as a "melting pot", a place that when a immigrant arrives that they become a part of, they leave behind where they came from and become an American and contribute to that mix. The melting pot analogy is that by coming here and joining in through that joining the best qualities fuse together creating a stronger society and a stronger nation, the bad qualities are "burned off" to fall away like slag. There is nothing wrong with honoring ethnic traditions and heritage. I descend from mainly a European heritage with North American Tribal and African heritage thrown in for good measure, but when asked, I proudly state that I am an American. I don't hyphenate it with another ethnicity or a sexual orientation or a religious denomination, ever.

California's spending problems are directly related to catering to every special interest group that pops up. I did not mention any one topic or reason for it, you just assumed, never a good thing. As for someone's sexual orientation, I could care less, as long as they are not practicing it on children. If you want my opinion on what you refer to as "gay history", if you want a history class that specific teach it at the college level, as for relating a historical figure's sexual orientation, I see it as irrelevant to the subject of History at the K-12 level, I had no history teacher ever broach the subject of any historical figure's sexual orientation, straight, gay, lesbian or whatever, ever. Oh before I forget to mention it, Alexander and Augustus were actually Bi-sexual, however at that point in history attitudes toward sexuality were considerably different. It still does not have relevance in regards to their accomplishments. Teaching materials cost money, money that the taxpayers have to pay for, so yes it is relevant to their spending issues.
I have had 5 children...4 are now adults and the fifth is 10 years old/5th grade and none of my children EVER asked about such things in first grade...sounds like a plan to indoctrinate the little ones early on. My kids started out in public schools but they were all pulled out after a few short years. This was over 20 years ago and things were bad I can only imagine what they are like now.
