Glenn Beck on the 4th hour

I’m posting this because it makes me a laugh every time I see it. No real substance here, just light stuff that you’ll find entertaining and a few things that you probably don’t know about Glenn. For instance, did you know that Glenn Beck is a Glenn Beck denier?

Also, if you haven’t signed up for Insider Extreme, the only way you can watch the 4th hour, you should do so now. It’s awesome.

Enjoy:

Also, consider this an overnight thread so feel free to discuss anything below.

Glenn Beck goes nuclear on Tom Hanks and our foreign policy

This is a long clip, but it’s a great discussion clip. The clip starts out with Beck vehemently responding to Hanks’ remarks that WWII was about racism and terror. But then it evolves into something even juicier. Around the 3:30 mark, Beck begins to talk about his ideal for our foreign policy, which reminded me alot of Ron Paul, and then it becomes an argument between Beck & Pat vs Stu on what we should or should not be doing with our military around the world.

I would weigh in with my thoughts, but to be honest I am torn between the arguments that Beck & Stu are making. I will say that I’ve never been a proponent of nation building, as George Bush advocated back in the 2000 Presidential debates. Off the cuff the idea of responding with force to someone who attacks us and then letting them put the pieces back together has some merit but I can also see the good that’s been done in Iraq from staying with them through this process and helping them develop a government that will make them more stable.

Also, if you don’t listen to the end there’s a good chance you could misunderstand what Beck’s reasons are for his stance, and his time-line of when it should happen.

I look forward to a good discussion here. Enjoy the video:

Glenn Beck questions the selling of private land to the government

This is a great topic for discussion. Beck has a problem with people buy landing and selling to the government, taking it out of the private sector potentially in perpetuity. Stu makes the argument that a person who buys land you can sell it to whomever you want whether it be the government or a private citizen. I think they both make great arguments, but I think Beck’s problem should be the government’s policy of buying and keeping the land and not selling it off. I agree with Stu’s argument more and I think the burden of responsibility lies with the government. There would need to be policies set in place to maintain that the government cannot simply buy land with the sole purpose of keeping it out of the private sector needlessly. In other words, the government should have a dang good reason for owning any piece of land. Otherwise the land should be put it up for sale back into the private sector.

Be sure and listen to the whole clip to hear the arguments to their fullest:

Glenn Beck to Michelle Malkin: You were right!

I had a feeling this was coming, and I’m glad it did because I think we were all thinking the same thing: Michelle was right!

BTW, is it me or does Michelle Malkin have THE best voice or what?!?! She’d be perfect for an NPR-style radio show, especially with her views. Maybe she should consider her on radio show cause that’d be awesome!

UPDATE: I swapped the video out for the insider extreme edition. This is what you are missing if you aren’t an insider extreme subscriber!

Beck talks more Massa this Mornin

I’m posting this as a follow up to Beck’s TV show interview that was pretty much a disaster. The only saving grace was that Massa pretty much hung himself in terms of being at all credible now.

You won’t be surprised that the focus of much of this is on the tickling comment.

Video: Glenn Beck and Michelle Malkin disagree over Eric Massa

This is a tough interview, but I will say that Beck apologizes profusely in the next segment. I’ll post the audio of his apology shortly.

Does Obama have a drinking problem?

Glenn Beck was reading through the recent medical release from Obama’s physical and found the following:

“Continue smoking cessation efforts, a daily exercise program, healthy diet, moderation in alcohol intake, periodic dental care, and remain up-to-date with recommended immunizations”

I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure there is ever an appropriate time for the President to ever be consuming alcohol in any significant amount while in office. Yes, even if he is on vacation, an emergency can happen at any time and he must be at his best at all times.  What this suggests is that he is drinking too much, unless I am reading it wrong. Let’s hope I am and let’s hope the press will inquire about this.

UPDATE: Allahpundit seems to think this is much ado about nothing

Glenn Beck acts out letters that Obama “reads” every night

Obama opened up the Health Care Summit Kabuki Theater by talking about how he “reads” 10 letters every night that have mostly to do with people who can’t get insurance. That’s when Glenn and Pat find their inner voice:

Glenn Beck Radio: Tony from Harlem – caller of the year!

Tony from Harlem is a black conservative who has more sense than most people I know. He goes after Michelle Obama’s recent tactics on curing the ‘fat problem’ and will have you falling out of your chair in laughter (unless you’re on a treadmill like Cubachi, then you better brace yourself!)
