Liz Cheney and her group “Keep America Safe” has come under attack by 19 republican-appointed attorneys, which include independent Counsel Kenneth Starr of the Bill Clinton – Monica Lewinsky case, and former Deputy Attorney General for the Bush administration, Larry Thompson.
These 19 lawyers claim that Liz Cheney’s ad, which questions Namely, if these lawyers are to be trusted with upholding values and loyalties, when during the Bush administration they have represented terrorists.
In part of the statement released by these 19 republican appointed lawyers, they claim that Cheney and her group should not indict nor pass judgement on lawyers who defend the enemy. On the contrary, they claim, she should respect that lawyers often have to defend the worst of the worst. They even cited John Adams defending the unpopular British during the Boston Massacre:
The statement cited John Adams’s defense of British soldiers charged in the Boston Massacre to argue that “zealous representation of unpopular clients” is an important American tradition.
The attacks on the lawyers “undermine the Justice system more broadly,” they wrote, by “delegitimizing” any system in which accused terrorists have lawyers, whether civilian courts of military tribunals.
Here lies the problem: These lawyers are misconstruing what John Adams did and who he defended during the Boston Massacre trial.
Here is Mark Levin, who a couple of weeks ago on February 26, educated a caller, on why his comparison of what Adams did to what these Justice Department lawyers did in defending terrorists, is asinine. I recommend you all to listen:
Here is the website Mark Levin mentioned that explains all the details of the Boston Massacre case.
Geert Wilders is on course to become the next Dutch Prime Minister.
Yesterday the conservative PVV party also known as the Freedom Party, picked up nine seats. The party won with the leadership and advocacy of Wilders who espouses pro-capitalism ideals, free speech, and anti-illegal immigration policies, as well as waking up his citizens to the loss of autonomy of the nations in Europe because of the massive influx of Muslim immigrants, as well as the danger of Islam radicalizing Europe.
On June 9, the Netherlands is on course to electing the Freedom Party as the majority party if they win 27 out of 150 seats. Which will surely result in Wilders becoming Prime Minister. It is about time. We have no leadership in Europe, especially against Islam and the corrupt European Union.
Geert Wilders said:
“Today Almere and The Hague, tomorrow the whole of the Netherlands. This is our springboard for success in parliamentary elections… We are going to take the Netherlands back from the leftist elite that comforts criminals and supports Islamisation.”
As Pamela Geller always notes on her blog Atlas Shrugs, and I whole-heartedly agree with her, Geert Wilders is the Winston Churchill of our time. We are seeing, as Wilders said in the video, the rising of the silent majority. Cheers to Mr. Wilders and his party.
Interestingly, Geert Wilders will head tomorrow to England and show his, what the liberal media labels, “controversial” film ‘Fitna’ in the House of Lords. Already, the radical Muslims are protesting the showing of this film. But this did not hinder the English Defence League, who wants to protect free speech and opposes the radicalism of Islam, from inviting Wilders tomorrow.
UPDATE: RadarOnline.com says their story is not true:
RadarOnline.com has obtained new information that Justice Roberts will NOT resign. The justice will be staying on the bench.
To quote Ed Morrissey: “Have fun getting your credibility back …”
—————————————————————————-
Boy this would really suck. Really. (via RadarOnline.com)
John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, is seriously considering stepping down from the nation’s highest court for personal reasons, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Roberts, known for his conservative judicial philosophy, has served on the Supreme Court since 2005, having been nominated by President George W. Bush after the death of former Chief William Rehnquist.
RadarOnline.com has been told that Roberts, 55, could announce his decision at any time.
The decision paves the way for President Barack Obama to make his second appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court following his first, Sonia Sotomayor.
The first thing we should note is that RadarOnline.com is a gossip site and could have this completely wrong. Let’s cross our fingers. But considering it’s true for a second, the last thing a power hungry socialist president needs is another appointment to the Supreme Court. This could be devastating, as it would certainly unbalance the court. Ed Morrissey is saying this would be an apocolypse for conservatives. Yikes!
I hope that this story is completely erroneous and that Roberts will set the case straight soon.
UPDATE: According to Hotair.com: Drudge has a quote from a court source that says, “This is not happening … It’s news to me.”
I am using a system called Disqus to manage my comments here at therightscoop.com. It has some very nice features like allowing someone to reply to a specific comment as many of you do, sorting of comments, etc. So far it’s been great! I’ve also been allowing anyone to comment thus far and it has in fact worked out nicely. I have only had to ban a couple of people from commenting, so we really don’t have any lingering problem with “trolls”….yet.
However, because this site is growing and more people are coming by to check out our awesome content, at some point we are sure to become a target for haters out there on a routine basis. It’s no secret that the Left hates….I mean really hates Glenn Beck.
So I’ve decided to stop allowing anonymous comments. What this means to you is that when you comment, you’ll need to do one of the following:
This is the beautiful thing about Disqus, that you can use any one of the accounts listed above and you don’t have to sign up for anything new unless you decide on using a Disqus account. The nice thing about using Disqus is that you have more control over managing your comments and you can also choose whether or not to use an avatar, etc. The only thing that will be displayed is the identity/avatar from any account you sign in with.
Also, one of the other nice features about Disqus is that we are not the only blog that uses it. TVNewser, an excellent blog, uses it as their comment system. You could go comment over there with the same account you use over here. And if you use a Disqus account, it will agregate all of your comments from any site for you to manage in the Disqus system.
This is really not anything major at all. I will just need the ability to hold the lefty trolls more accountable when they come over here to simply pick fights or disparage people.
If you have any trouble please let me know by sending an email to tips@therightscoop.com and I’ll be glad to assist in anyway I can.
Oh, and one other note. If you choose to use specific curse words in your comment, it may not post immediately. I have to manually moderate those, so please don’t worry if your comment doesn’t show up immediately.
Thanks,

Everyone gets tired of hearing that same old question: what if it were Bush that did this? We know the MSM has a double standard in how they treat Republicans vs Democrats, but we find ourselves asking that question anyway especially when debating the Left. It’s like most on the Left are blind to the messianic treatment Obama is getting vs. how Bush was treated like an ignorant fool with a 5th grade education. It’s mind blowing sometimes.
Stu over at glennbeck.com wrote an excellent blog entry today exposing this very thing as well as pointing out a new record that Obama has set:
According to a new Rasmussen reports poll—only 22% of Americans strongly approve of the job President Obama is doing as president. That’s the lowest in his presidency. 41% strongly disapprove—a 19 point gap. Overall his approval is floundering at only 45 percent while 54 percent disapprove.
And all of this with a level of support from the press that a Republican could only dream of. Remember the complaints about George W Bush? He was barely paying attention to what was going on. He was always on vacation playing golf. It was so prominent that Michael Moore made Bush playing golf the trailer of Fahrenheit 9-11.
Yet—in the first 9 months of his first term—Obama had already played as much golf as Bush had in almost 3 years. The media? Largely silent. Maybe they were being quiet so that they wouldn’t disturb the President’s drive on the 5th hole.Shhhhhhhhh.
But President Obama doesn’t only set records on the links (and of course, in spending.) Let’s go back to the Bush administration again. Throughout his presidency we were told by the media that his administration was far too closed. There was no access to the president. He just wouldn’t face reporters.
Fast forward to Obama. He has now broken George W Bush’s record —and has gone 216 days without a formal press conference. The last one he had? Remember the disaster of the “police acted stupidly” press conference? Now, I guess if that were my last press conference, I might go 216 days without another too. But, where is the press on this? I know they don’t care about being fair to conservatives, but shouldn’t they at least be concerned about being treated fairly themselves?
Remember the so called “frog-gate” where the lefty blogs accused him of killing a frog, but cut off the video exactly where the next line was Beck saying that the frog was fake? That’s exactly what this reminds of:
Update: In case you missed it, here is the clip of Maddow that Beck is referring to in the above clip:
I was unimpressed with Bill’s interviewing skills tonight. I thought he did a great job with Sarah Palin’s interview, but this was almost a flop. If I had one word to describe this interview, it would be contrived. I felt that Bill was condescending at times, but not intentionally; trying to hard at other times to either ‘get’ Jon Stewart or attempt his hand at humor, which fell flat. It’s like Bill sees Stewart as his equal of sorts, and it almost made Bill look a bit small.
I don’t have high hopes the 2nd half of the interview tomorrow night.
Beck was on Fox and Friends yesterday morning, but I didn’t get a chance to post it. He points out that China is no longer at the top of our spy list. There has been alot of talk lately about how we are basically slaves to China because of the debt that we owe them and that we are having to treat them differently because of it. This is a very dangerous situation, that we are so indebted to a communist nation. How long before they start making demands?
As a side note, don’t miss the caption on the screen that says President ‘Owe’-Bama. I like that.
Rush loves to make liberals go nuts. They can’t stand the fact that he wants Obama’s policies to fail, because it’s better for this country. They always try and misconstrue it to suggest Obama want’s the country to fail, but for anyone who actually listens to him, you know very well that’s not the case.
In this interview Rush covers several different things, but he doesn’t pass up the opportunity to say that he thanks God everyday that Obama’s policies are failing. Excellent.
Enjoy:
I normally just give you Charles Krauthammer’s spiel, but this time I noticed a trend among the three on the panel. Normally, there is quite a bit of dissent because the panel includes both conservatives and liberals. But when they agree, and they agree on a such a premise that Obama is being at best disingenuous and at worst destructive, then I am getting very worried.
Krauthammer is the one who in the end said that a reasonable projection is that our National Debt will be 100% of GDP by the end of the decade, which will destroy the economy.
Sorry, but my freakout mode just engaged a bit. Glenn Beck has been saying Cloward and Piven for the last year and this looks like exactly that.
