The fact they they are entertaining something so absurd should convince anyone, despite whether or not the end up using it, of how radical these Democrats are running the House and Senate. True colors (emphasis mine):
House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter is prepping to help usher the healthcare overhaul through the House and potentially avoid a direct vote on the Senate overhaul bill, the chairwoman said Tuesday.
Slaughter is weighing preparing a rule that would consider the Senate bill passed once the House approves a corrections bill that would make changes to the Senate version.
Slaughter has not taken the plan to Speaker Pelosi as Democrats await CBO scores on the corrections bill. “Once the CBO gives us the score we’ll spring right on it,” she said. . . .
House members are concerned the Senate could fail to approve the corrections bill, making them nervous about passing the Senate bill with its much-maligned sweetheart deals for certain states.
“We’re well beyond that,” Pelosi said Tuesday, though she did not clarify.
Honestly, it’s this kind of stuff that scares the crap out of me. They will stop at nothing to force their radical agenda on the American people before they lose in November.
You would think that, by the reporting, Sen. Jim Bunning is the most evil person that has ever existed. He probably eats little kids like candy or something. But one thing you won’t hear in the reporting is that Bunning is trying to force the Senate to abide by it’s rule to ‘pay as you go’, or rather make sure they have the money to pay for what they plan to spend. It’s not the end of the world either, as the Senate will override his objection tomorrow.
Think of it as a snow day in DC, because we’re pretty much getting snowed under with the spending by this administration anyway. Here’s Rush’s take:
UPDATE: This is just an example of how this is being played in the media. Somebody went to alot of trouble to put this together, and it certainly fits in with what Rush was saying about how they are trying to get Bunning kicked out of the hall of fame.
A recent poll suggests that Harry Reid could win big time if there is a Tea Party candidate running as a third party in November:
But the polling done for the Las Vegas Review-Journal also shows this year’s U.S. Senate race could undergo a major shake-up if a Tea Party candidate gets involved.
It would be a new ballgame, and Reid would be the big beneficiary.
A disaffected conservative running under the Tea Party banner would drain support from a Republican candidate, according to polling of a three-way contest.
In that case, Reid would draw 36 percent of voters, while the Republican nominee would get 32 percent and the Tea Party candidate 18 percent if the election were held today.
There is one piece of advice coming from almost all corners of the conservative movement, whether it be Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin: Let’s take over and change the Republican party and get all the big spenders out. A third party would mean disaster for our country at a point when we are literally hanging by a thread off the edge of a cliff. We need to find conservative candidates and push them to win in the GOP Primaries in every region of every state. While a John McCain type republican is not the long term answer, in the short term we cannot be swayed even if a big spender republican gets the nomination. What we are up against is bigger than big spending – what we are up against is radical left wing socialists who want to fundamentally change our nation into something even we won’t recognize.
And Harry Reid is one of those radicals that must be removed from office in 9 months. Let’s not be swayed by the idea of a third party. Take it from the master himself:
UPDATE: I was made aware that fake Tea Parties are cropping up and running third party candidates to split the vote in both Florida and Nevada. Voter beware!
Rush Limbaugh played a clip of Steve Wynn blasting the Obama administration in a fourth quarter conference call:
“I have more pessimism than I’ve had before, and it’s based on the political environment in which we are living today. And it definitely is impacting Las Vegas. The President of the United States hasn’t missed one single opportunity to squelch Las Vegas! We get phone calls…from chairmen who say we don’t want to appear to be profligate because Barack Obama said this or that about Las Vegas.”
“It is preposterous that businesses are under attack in the United States of America. Anybody who makes over $250,000 in the form of a personal income tax return is now, by Washington definition, a rich person, when everybody whose got a college degree knows that the personal income tax rate in the United States of America is the business tax of America! I am disgusted and angry at the apparent ignorance of the administration and the congress to recognize the fact that the individual tax rate in the United States of America is in fact the business tax of America! And if you keep banging on that, you will destroy the incentive for job formation in the United States of America! And that’s simple truth!”
“Why I’m pessimistic about Las Vegas? Because those are our customers! Those people out there hustling their businesses, and God forbid showing that they made a million dollars as a partnership or as an individual. Yeah they’re the enemy now, they’re the rich folks! Well, until we get over this America’s in for hard times. The people that are going to suffer from what is going on are the working class of America. My 15-20 thousand employees, they’re the ones that are in trouble! And until my employees get the drift of what is being done to them, America is in trouble.
A caller is upset that Rush criticized Glenn Beck on Monday and then accuses Rush not doing his job to keep the Republicans in line over the years.
So he stands up and spanks himself. Awesome!
Today it pains me to write an article criticizing Rush Limbaugh. But I’ve taken more than I can chew.
On the first hour of the Rush Limbaugh show, caller Ed from Chicago commented to Rush about Glenn Beck’s equating the republican party with the democrat party.
Rush replied that one of his tenets in radio policy is to never engage in criticism of another radio host nor his or her objectives.
Really?
Yesterday Rush engaged in a slight against a certain speaker at CPAC:
I would not have said that the only people who can stop Obama should be excoriated for being just as bad. It would never occur to me to say that.
Frankly, Beck told the truth. It’s not enough to call out the democrat party as taxers and spenders, when the GOP themselves engaged in spending.
With all due respect, to Rush if you have a problem with Glenn Beck, I would advise him to call in to Beck’s radio or television program and engage in a meaningful discourse about third parties, the republican party, and the democrat party.
I admire men like Dan Riehl of Riehl World View and William Bennett. Agree or disagree with them, each have written articles critical of Glenn Beck, called him by name, and backed up their claims. More so, Bennett even called Glenn Beck to discuss his critiques of the CPAC speech.
Why can’t Rush follow that example?
I am frankly getting sick of the backhandedness, slights, and talking in the second person. It’s petty.
Rush is better than that. He’s the king of conservative talk radio. Rush should do what he’s superb at: talk! Call Beck up, Rush.
Rush has stepped into the foray of conservative voices attacking Beck’s speech. He is criticizing Beck for “beating down” Republicans, and of course he doesn’t call him out by name, but we know. I really think Beck is misunderstood by Rush, Levin, Bennett, and the like. He’s not criticizing the Marco Rubios of the party. Instead he’s criticizing the establishment and the leadership. I’ve already countered this idea here this morning and don’t need to do it again.
Take a listen:
It’s a fraud! It’s a fraud!
Charles Krauthammer does a pretty good job explaining how it’s a fraud, but I also really liked Rush’s take on it. They are both basically saying the same thing, but Rush gives an analogy that is also quite revealing.
One thing is for sure. They keep repeating and repeating and repeating that the stimulus worked when the economy is worse than it was when they started. Everyone knew that it was nothing more than what Rush calls a democrat slush fund full of pet projects. And apparently there is quite a sum in the order of hundreds of billions that is still unspent.
The MSM continues to repeat their lies about the stimulus, refusing to hold Obama accountable and that’s how he propagates the lie. If the MSM weren’t in his back pocket, um like the last president, he’d never get away with this lie. So when Rush compares it to Hitler’s “The Big Lie”, it doesn’t seem that far off.
Note to any would-be haters out there, Rush is not comparing Obama to Hitler in the mass murder sense. He’s comparing Obama’s continuous lies over the stimulus to Hitler’s strategy on deception.
He’s basically saying he’s not bothered by her campaigning for what we would call a RINO, or at least a big government republican. I’ve felt this way for a while, that she’s really doing it because the media would go wild if she didn’t endorse McCain after running with him on a presidential ticket. They are out to get her at all costs and because of that she’s very guarded.
So despite Beck’s hesitancy over Palin’s decision, I understand and agree with why Rush says he gives her the benefit of the doubt. After all, I do think she is the real deal.
