Chris Wallace goes after Rick Santorum’s personal views on birth control

The one thing that got my ire up in this interview is when Chris Wallace tries to join Santorum’s personal views on birth control to the larger so-called debate about contraception. After discussing Limbaugh’s comments and then playing the clip of Santorum espousing his personal views on birth control, Wallace notes that the CDC has said that 99% of women in this country between the ages of 15-44 that are sexually active have used artificial birth control and then has the gall to ask Santorum “are you saying all those women have done something wrong?”

Santorum has made clear time and time and time again that he is not for banning birth control nor judging someone else’s use of it, and yet Wallace asks him if they did something wrong? What kind of question is that?!

Santorum responds:

I’m reflecting the views of the church that I believe in and we used to be tolerant of those beliefs. I guess now when you have beliefs that are consistent with the church and somehow or another you are out of the mainstream, that to me is a pretty sad situation where you can’t have personally held beliefs…

He goes on to say more:
