This is the first part in a series by Niall Ferguson that seeks to understand why it was that Western civilization came to dominance when China seemed to have it all. It’s a very illuminating documentary, not only of the history it reveals, but also the reason it gives as to why the West was won the battle of growth and prosperity.
It runs nearly 50 minutes but I found it quite captivating. Enjoy!
