This turd and his ilk make me really hate these people that cry racism over and over. How do idiots like Clyburnt, Maxi-Pad Waters and Sheila Jerkson Lee get elected and re-elected when they are obvious racists themselves is what I want to know?
Newt's never said his daughter was a janitor in a school as Clyburn stated. She performed janitorial duties in their church.
Sounds like the Liberal democRATs are really scared because the are forced to play the race card now at the begining instead of waiting to the end to play the ''race'' card. Too bad they don't actually listen to Newt or they would see he is an American talking about all Americans as equals and not some special privledge class that is always claiming victom.
Strange. I worked as a janitor at 14 years old at my school. Then, OMG, I was a janitor again for a year or so at 17 years of age.
Po' po' me just a servant of the rich. Oh, wait, that was a transitional / low skill job. As I learned more things and increase my skills I did other things and, get this, made more money.
I guess that Clyburn is not considering how much teenagers actually like having money and most probably will hate just about any job that they have earlier on in their working careers. I think he is also ignoring that if you are actually good at what you do, regardless of the work, you will shine and either move up through the ranks, or move on to another job with open possibilities.

My HS age son is always chomping at the bit to work. I have to reign him in sometimes and remind him he has to have enough energy & time to complete school. He just wants to earn his way so his dad and I don't have to worry about his clothes and 'I wants'. Makes a mama & papa proud... But both of us were dirt poor growing up and know that working for what you have is important.

Yeah, I've been making mp3 files for my collection for about the past 9 years or so, too. I should probably make some FLAC files as well, but I don't have any software for recording or playback of those kinds of files yet. I'll wait until that format becomes more common before I make that jump.
One of my friends is a Christian clinical psychologist. He worked his way through school as a janitor...and he earned a bachelors degree, three masters degrees and a PhD doing JANITORIAL WORK, which pays very well.
Oh, yes, he's a white guy and the son of a janitor.
The problem with him according to the liberals, he wasn't too proud to do a good honest, if humble job. He should have gotten a government loan.
But he finished all that education a better way, without a big debt.
I worked on a farm, in stores and other places and doing chores at home before I could drive.
Kids who get jobs when they are young are the least likely to end up in poverty and on drugs.
The real problem here is not what the Congressman said, but that Mitchell did absolutely nothing to challenge his easily rebutted statements.
He did his job by besmirching a member of the other party. She failed in hers by letting him do it unmolested.
But then again, as a member of MSNBC, maybe she really did do her job?

The ONLY people this "racist" argument holds water for are...ding ding ding! The RACISTS!!! Race-baiting only works on folks that WANT to believe they are a victim. Ever wonder why Whites have always been the "benchmark" for success in this country? It's because we've never had anyone to blame for our failures!!! As soon as an entire race gets to blame another race for their downfalls, and force that race to "make it right", they will NEVER stop playing that card. Hmm... I distinctly remember Newtie saying he wanted them to own the job, you know, as in being a business owner.
