I’m no fan of Zakaria, and I have mixed feelings about even interviewing someone like this Jihadi, giving him a platform and all. Remember, this is the guy who admitted that Islam is not peaceful and even in this interview talks about how he advocates for Sharia. What bothers me is that on the one hand Zakaria just acts as though the bombings of the past and the threat that more will come is rather common place. Zakaria also never stands up for Israel even though this guy repeatedly talks about how Israel is occupying their land as well as how US supports Israel. Zakaris seems mum. And again, giving this idiot a platform would just seem to put his message out there to a much larger audience, possibly finding him new followers. That really bothers me.
That said, I do think one good thing from this interview is how crazy this Jihadi’s reasoning is for Jihad, relative to history. At the end Zakaria finally tells him he needs to get his history straight and ends the interview. All in all, I would have never put this guy on the air.
