They came here 16 years ago from Chile and overstayed their visas, and now they want legal status so they don’t have to live in fear of being deported. The father in the family said waiting 13 years for citizenship is too long and needs to be shorter, which is ironic to me because he’s been here 16 years. I guess this report is supposed to pull on your heart strings and want to give them amnesty or something.

So if I were to go to another country and overstay my visa, why would I expect them to not deport me? I’ve just overstayed my visa so why on earth would I expect them to just grant me amnesty?
But we’re the mean Republicans for wanting our laws obeyed in the first place.
