I am from Nebraska and hagel is not a conservative he is an obama clone
who cares if he works for the idiot obama.......he is a RINO and an arrogant jerk
This whole Hagel situation is just a symptom of the ineptocarcy governing the USA now.
Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by
the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
... Also 'splains the upcoming fiscal cliff
I can't think of anything Hagel is the "right" man for, other than maybe Jean Francois Kerry's personal assistant.
Well, whaddaya expect? 0 wants a toady in there, not a man like Col. West. I hope Hagel and Hormel kissed and... made up.
This is one of our new congressmen...super guy to represent Arkansas in Washington.
Some people say he hates Jews and others say he kisses up to Jews. Which statement is true? At present, I don't know enough about him to have an educated opinion. Please post links to reliable information proving your claim about him.
Schmuck Hagel is a direct reflection of Obama's military and political philosophies. His long known, long denied, hatred of Jews is given an exclaimation mark with the mere suggestion of this scumbag for SecDef. He obviously has no more experience running the military, than Panetta, yet Panetta the political hack, is, surprisingly, far more benign a tumor on the armed forces and DOD, than this disgrace. Hagel, unable to understand such a rudimentary strategy as sending in a lot of people, advocated cut-and-run, which shows he is definitely not a man that should be trusted with leading a Girl Scout Brownie troop.
Its also very telling that he's groveling for the forgiveness of gays, and yet has nothing to say about his virulent, frothing anti-Semitism. Right on the heels of his laughable, fraudulent campaign claiming to be the biggest benefactor Israel has ever had, even over God, Himself, Obama turns right around and shows his true colors by suggesting the DOD be taken over by an inexperienced, cowardly Jew-hater, one of the lowest forms of life on Earth (besides Obama).
If there was any question, this consideration for SecDef should answer it. Obama has, once again, made history, by surrounding himself with a body of Cabinet officials and advisors that are some of the least impressive mediocrities in history. He, and all his personality cultists, are a collection of unintelligent, lying, un-American, untrustworthy, dishonorable, buffoonish braggadocios that desperately cling to relevance by lying about their accomplishments and intentions. Now, we're looking at yet another craptacular bureaucrat collecting a 6-figure paycheck at the taxpayers' expense. Hagel is too stupid to know that he's just another RINO "Republican" that's being used to legitimize Obama's illegitimate presidency, just like the last one (Robert Gates), and his drooling, senile "favorite" (i.e.: pet) "R[INO]epublican", Dick Lugar.
And now, an NSFW word from my sponsor.
Thank you for the link, V.
I don't know much about Hagel and want to gather as much information about him as possible so that I can have an educated opinion of him.
Hagel was right about Iraq. It was a costly adventure and still is. Apparently, spending is bad to the so-called conservatives in the GOP unless that spending is on the military and foreign adventures. Well that attitude has to end. It's sad to see another pro-war idiot in congress.
Hagel is also a Vietnam vet and has seen war. He has served his country honorably.
Big money, Corporations and the National Socialist Republican's Party don't care who's in the white house. Not really, not to any great degree, that is.
We were all sitting around back in September and October praying some fantastically wealthy man, either the Jew in Vegas or the playboy in Manhattan, would back Newt, or out-spend the bed-wetter in Pennsylvania, but in the long run, big money doesn't care. Not about this, this "idea." And the National Socialist Republican's party are the hand maidens of that money, the lap dogs of luxury.
You want this country back? Then you better be prepared to lift your hands and arch your back because there ain't no sugar daddy, no miracle waiting around the next turn of events to hand it back to you.
I can't stand Hagel because he's a huge RINO, media and Obama harlot.
We weren't right in Iraq, and what we need to do is shame the hypocrites who voted for it then denounced it to get points. It was a progressive war by a progressive President for multicultural reasons that made Iran and Islamists stronger and I don't think Obama gave a damn about getting out of it. He had the same timetable Bush did, and tried to stop getting out before trying to take credit for doing so. It's old news and has nothing to do with anything the Tea Party supports, but the "compassionate conservatives" of last decade.
Old Chuck has always followed the path of most money and he always will. That is why he is a true dem politic at small. Hence a zombicrat!
obama continues to put far leftist in key positions in Washington, so I would be surprised if Hagel was a good choice, however, I don't know much about him. Please post reliable information ( links) proving your view.
Pick the WORST person for any position in the government (think John Kerry for SoS for instance... Geitner for Treasury Sec...) and you can be sure Obama will pick that person. Why? Because if America picked the absolutely WORST person to be our President, Obama would be THAT scumbag... and this has gone to Obama's head. It's like picking people using the George Costanza rule (opposite of what should be done).
I agree Scoop- this is the only reason why dear leader picked someone like Hagel. Besides, Hanoi jane was probably unavailable.
Hanoi Jane wasn't available, but Hanoi John is so the RINOs can all line up to support a war "hero" like Kerry. The Swift Boat Vets told the truth about this lying punk's record and the mainstream media attacked them like they do anything that represents America in a positive light. The reason Kerry put himself in for 3 Purple Hearts, that was how many you needed to get out of Nam. He was out of Nam before the ink dried on his third one. This scumbag has lied his way through life since birth. Maybe Obama and Theresa can bogart a few joints together lioke the Choom Gang did in the "good ole days."
God forbid the president might pick someone like Hagel who has served in Vietnam and seen a senseless war first hand. Hagel is an honorable man.
Hanoi John Kerry served in Viet Nam too and so did I. How about you, where did you serve?
You won't get an answer, never mind a quick one. The man is delusional, he thinks Kerry is an "honorable" man and gives Wikipedia as a source to prove his point.
John is a troll and suffers from the disease known as liberalism.
I would like to know more about Hagel, please post links to reliable information proving your assertion that he is an honorable man.
"Wikipedia" is an unreliable source, it can be changed at will by anyone. You were asked to provide "reliable" links. Fail #1
Fail #2, that you would know anything about Kerry and say he is an honorable man explains Fail #1.
Go and read his biography. Vietnam veteran with commendations, headed VA affairs under Reagan, businessman and United States Senator.
That is so awesome. I am looking forward to it. So is the boy. Please don't sell yourself short either. I realize that the men who are still thankfully with us from the World Wars are incredible, and I pray we can meet more of them while we have the chance, but you guys did what you were called to do too, and I am grateful.
Me too. When you bring the kids to visit the museum, there's a good possibility they will meet and talk to 'history' first hand (and I'm not talking me).
I was talking with a 91 year old P-51 Mustang fighter pilot last Sunday that was escorting bombers over Germany in WW2. It's not that unusual to meet people like that at the museum.
Oh, that's awesome about your daughter tinlizzie- my brother in law is 7 months free, so yes, I know we have many things to thank the Lord for. xoxox my friend. I look forward to meeting you hopefully soon after the New Year.
I'm an old man with 'prostate problems'. Having to drink lots of water to 'go to the bathroom' isn't an issue, if you catch my drift.
;-) ;-)
You have a blessed Christmas too. My oldest daughter is 1 year breast cancer free this month, we have a lot to thank God for, this year and we will in the prayer before CHRISTmas dinner tomorrow.
Yes, I do believe so. When you go, just order extra large water ;-) be sure to drink plenty before you go too. Merry Blessed Christmas to you and your family tinlizzieowner. I hope you have a beautiful one.
"Oh cripes, she's NOT! Really?"
Yes really. I've still got a few "Hanoi Jane Urinal stickers" left. I could have to end up going to the bathroom in the theatres that show it, in my vicinity.
;-) ;-)
Oh cripes, she's NOT! Really? Sorry tinlizzieowner, I hardly know what movies are what since I don't watch tv at all or go to many movies. Getting her to play Nancy, that's as pitiful as... well ketchup boy being Sec. of State. :-(
Laurel,
I don't know much about Hagel, please post reliable links proving your assertion that he is a moron.
I have ended this discourse with you. I don't begrudge you or anyone else your opinion.
Of course you offer no apology because you incapable of admitting you made a mistake. I offered no position but only an opinion as you put it correctly the first time. Are you now changing what you said? There is quite a difference between taking a position aka stance and offering an opinion.
You need to learn that words matter.
And no I'm not making a mountain out of a molehill. You repeatedly keep digging your own hole here.
I simply asked you to provide links to support your position, you are making a mountain out of a molehill.
I offer YOU no apology.
You still don't get it...and I don't think you get what constitutes an opinion. You certainly don't understand when it is warranted to ask for a link or not. I know you don't get that your use of language is what caused the problem in the first place hence the other comments.
"If you want to post your opinions, you certainly can do that, but if you want your opinions to have more weight, so that they possibly can be used to change the minds of others, including reliable sources, with your opinions, is paramount."
That above quote is directly from you and is an opinion. Where is the link to back that opinion?
And if you want me to be gracious, which I assure I can be, start by admitting that you might have quite possibly made a mistake especially in the words or form you chose to communicate. Perhaps a better rephrasing of your question such as " Laurel what is it exactly that you dislike about Chuck Hagel?" or "Can you give me some particulars on Chuck Hagel since I don't understand why everyone is so opposed to him?"
In the immortal words of a dear friend of mine..." You are forgiven and you are welcome in advance".
Oh and just so you know...some links are better than others. Clint Eastwood did not originate that quote. My grandfather was saying that when Clint was in diapers. He may have popularized it but he didn't originate it. That is why the over abundant use of links is not necessarily a good thing.
I have met some wonderful, helpful and insightful people on this site that have offered a myriad of information about their opinions. And I welcome their knowledge, wisdom and kindness.
But, I thank you for helping me realize that not everyone is going to be that gracious.
PS
Your statement about me not posting a link about opinions is incorrect, as I did include a link to a famous amusing movie quote by Clint Eastwood. And that sums it up.
No I don't believe every opinion posted Grace but I also don't challenge the opinion in the manner that you did then feign ignorance. I accept your post wasn't as intended but you must accept that perhaps you could of worded that post better. Opinions are not necessarily required to post research and quite frankly people get tired of death by 10 million links. I don't include links on every opinion I post nor does anyone else because some of those opinions are formulated through years of experience that predates the internet or is incommunicable. My opinion of Chuck Hagel applies to that. Apparently you are younger than I or you wouldn't ask for a link about this. My suggestion is you do some research on Chuck. I am sure you are quite capable of using a simple search engine.
"Ironically, I probably agree with your opinion of Hagal, I just appreciate verification via supporting links so that if I post a view or intelligently discuss Hagal with leftist, the facts are lined up."
When reading the opinion of someone else you should verify the veracity of that opinion based upon the homework you have done or are about to do yourself. It is not up to me to do any homework for you. You keep posting some ridiculous non-existent rule or threshold that no one follows. I think it is cute that you think you are going to have an intelligent conversation about Hagel with a leftist. I would have to say you are an eternal optimist.
"If you want to post your opinions, you certainly can do that, but if you want your opinions to have more weight, so that they possibly can be used to change the minds of others, including reliable sources, with your opinions, is paramount."
You are right. I can post opinions and I don't need any permission from you to do so. When I am concerned about changing the minds of others I will certainly think about that but I really don't need any unsolicited advice or 'opinions' about that topic from you. And take note you didn't post a link or sources to how you formulated that opinion in your response. You also presume I want to change anyone's opinion about Chuck Hagel. I don't define myself or personal well being by the internet and whether people agree or disagree with me. After years of experience I have found many are not open to changing their minds on a damn thing...including you who refuses to see that you have a serious communication problem.
I have no grudge against you so your comment is perplexing.
I simply asked for links so that I could discern the value of the opinion posted. Do you believe every opinion people post? Of course not. But, on the other hand, the opinions are not discounted either. They are in limbo in terms of usefulness with out verification.
If your opinions are well informed than why not include links to prove that your opinions are well researched? Share it with others.
Ironically, I probably agree with your opinion of Hagal, I just appreciate verification via supporting links so that if I post a view or intelligently discuss Hagal with leftist, the facts are lined up.
If you want to post your opinions, you certainly can do that, but if you want your opinions to have more weight, so that they possibly can be used to change the minds of others, including reliable sources, with your opinions, is paramount.
My dear I wasn't being hostile but perhaps you should take the plank of your own eye before examining mine. Your question in the manner proposed was hostile to say the least hence the reason you have received the responses that you have. You seem to be operating on some sort of non-existent rule book for the internet. Yes sometimes one requires a source however it is self evident that when one is calling someone else a moron that it is opinion.
My opinion is well informed after years of tolerating Chuck Hagel in government. Look at his record. He is part of the big government Republicans that undermined conservatism and even undermined the Republican party platform to gain self aggrandizement and notoriety. He was ran out of office in Nebraska.
As I said my opinion is well informed.
L, why are you behaving is such a hostile manner toward me? Don't you have enough leftist to fight? We are probably on the same side, politically, I only requested, reliable sources to verify your opinion. if you don't choose to give it, that's fine. If not, then I cannot quote your opinion as fact when debating these issues on posts or in face to face debates with people.
No offense but obviously you have the internet. Why look for yourself? If everyone posted a link to everything they say then we would be on other sites the entire time. No one needs to do all the work for you. Its not hard.
Perhaps you should re-read your posts with an objective eye. Then go through and read the comments here and realize as you want 'facts' to back up the formulation of opinion based upon perception that there are many many here that actually have a worse perception of Hagel than I do. AND WITH GOOD REASON. Then ask yourself why that is.
My dear I finished school decades ago. Et tu? The manner in which you have posted is perceived as an attack. Perception here is becoming reality.
My opinion is well based on many years of fact hence the reason Chuck Hagel will be opposed even by some Dems for Sec Def since he is an avowed anti-Semite for starters.
Opinion rooted in the perception of reality makes that opinion valid. Now if I said I despise Chuck Hagel because he plays footsie with aliens that might require some back up with some facts and hard core evidence.
If you are going to play with the big dogs you had better toughen up and learn how it is done.
I think you are about to find out how to blog the hard way...but you keep sticking to some exorbitant non-existent standard and the only thing we will be learning from you is how not to blog and that would be a shame.
Hard to believe YOU are in law school or you would understand that I was not attacking you, I simply requested more information from you so that I could discern if your opinion was YOUR opinion of fact.
I don't have to look up anything, if I see any of your posts in the future, I will know that it is JUST YOUR opinion and has no educational value.
Oh and P.S. please learn the correct context and use of the term hearsay. My law school profs are having conniptions.
It's nice to get information and many provide just that in their comments, however the comment section is all about opinions and being able to have one and share it. I've never seen anything in the comment policy of any site that said you have to back up your opinion with anything and yes we all have one.
No offense taken, however if someone posts an opinion about an individual or an issue their view has no more credence than hearsay if they do not substantiate it. And since they are posting their opinion, it is helpful to know why they have that perspective. Where specifically did they get their view? Also, if their view is substantiated and well researched, I can pass this on to other sites. This is how we help each other become educated people.
In most cases, when I state an opinion, I include reliable sources to support my position. I want others to know that my views are more than "just my opinion" as this takes issues to a more advanced level.
A funny quote by Clint Eastwood makes my case (and perhaps, my day) smile.
Clint Eastwood once said "Opinions are like as%holes, everybody has one."
