Last night Jon Stewart dedicated the entire show to interviewing Obama. But instead of comedy, this interview went for a more serious tone. Now some have critiqued it as nothing more than a campaign commercial, thought it never hit me that way while watching it. My honest feeling was that Stewart, while being very ginger in how he came across to the President, did ask some reasonable questions. Now, we all know that Obama is going to answer how he always does, which is to basically lie out of his arse. But I think out of an obligated sense of respect, Stewart wasn’t going to push him too much. Now if you think that’s what makes it a campaign commercial, then so be it. But I’m not convinced of that.
