Let's not lose sight of the fact that Walker's beef with the Unions a political one. Unions support Democrats in elections and Republicans believe that they have an easier time winning elections without Unions opposing them. I've worked in a UAW plant and in a .gov agency - and I left both positions because I could no longer stomach what I saw every day. The waste, fraud and abuse I witnessed still makes me sick years later.
Unions protect the incompetent, malicious and crooked at the expense of everyone else. They are no better than any other organized-crime extortion-racket. Sorry Dad.... You couldn't be more wrong. First I don't know who you mean when you lump me in with "you people" but I am a self employed person who is not a member of any union. Never the less, I support unions because workers need protection from employers who worship only the almighty dollar and would put the workers safety and livelihood in jeopardy without collective bargaining safeguards.
We the people do not fund unions. Unions are funded through the dues of their members hard earned wages. In the case of public unions, these wages are paid to the people who police our communities, collect our trash, teach our children, repair our streets, treat our water, fight our fires and countless other necessary jobs that we the people rely on having done so that we can go about our business. Tese people pay taxes on those wages and are indeed part of we the people and deserve to have input into the safety of their working conditions and the salaries that they receive.
It would certainly be refreshing if you could post a comment that included more fact and less vitriole.

I'm not sure exactly what was passed in this bill but original proposals would have required unions collect their own dues and membership in the unions would be voluntary.
