And you Texans’ straight talkin’ for sure.
Newt’s argument is the same as Pete Olson’s (R) 22nd Dist Texas, straight talk on the pipeline
The money quote: “President Obama has exchanged 20,000 jobs for one job… his”.
- Dan
Newt hit it out of the park over the freeway and in to the next state with that answer…right on right on right on……

This is what I like about Newt. He can articulate the problems and eloquently explain the solutions. He can take it to O’ as no one else can. He can make a vote for Obama precisely what it is. A fool on a fool’s errand, voting for a fool with foolish plans.
Once again, through the magic of Scooptravision I take you to the debate with Newt and O’, already in progress..it’s going on in my head.
Newt: “Mr. Obama, here’s your ass.”
O’: “Thanks.” - Anonymous

Scoop, I was unable to download your livestream last night; just wanted to let you know. I was able to watch it somewhere else.
I really don’t like Gingrich. He was rude and disrespectful to Bachman the entire night; I’m glad she told him off. Also, he is starting to remind me of Richard Nixon. I fear he will do something totally corrupt and criminal in office and get impeached or forced out…his ego is really too large.

Will the real Newt please stand up.
Opposes cap-and-trade regulation. In 2008 TV ad, said US “must take action to address climate change.” Now says ad was “probably the dumbest thing I’ve done in recent years.” Once cosponsored legislation that blamed “human activities” for warming, but later said he did not know if humans were to blame.
Perry/Rubio 2012 because Rick Perry knows the best president of the last 100 years was Ronald Reagan.
- Anonymous
He said it was dumb appearing with Nancy, but he didn’t back down from his intention which was to participate in the debate and give it a conservative voice. It also shouldn’t be shocking that he backed down from his previous conviction that global warming was man made. The science is young. We applaud and use as evidence to support our claims when scientists who previously supported the idea renounce their former stance and join our side. Why should we hold Newt to a different standard? It’s not an issue of constitutional interpretation or political principle. He got the science wrong.
- http://www.planettron.com NickDeringer
So based on that what is Newt’s final position on AGW?? Do you know? Does anybody know? Will Newt suddenly get enlightened again and decide we need regulate carbon?? Will he make another back-room deal with some company and sell us down the river??
- Anonymous
Your point is valid. We can’t know whether he’ll later come out in favor of cap and trade, and we have some evidence that he might.
It’s also possible any of the other candidates will reverse their position or compromise on some conservative standard. We’ve already seen it with Mitt in general, Bachmann speaking out against pork while taking it, Ron Paul saying he didn’t write damning newletters with embarrassing racial overtones after admitting it in the 90s. Rick Perry changed parties way back when, and Santorum has a few flip flops in his collection including his position on raising the retirement age for social security.
All the candidates have demonstrated they have the capacity to change positions. Whether we accept it in one candidate or another I think is a product of what we already think about them, not the basis for it.

It’s hold your nose and vote.

I’m a day late and a dollar short but here goes anyway.
Doesn’t anyone ever look at video’s, speeches, websites or essay’s written by Gingrich. I’m not talking about 20 year ago I mean recently. I’m all for opinion I join in with mine all the time but I’m tired of people asking what Newt’s opinion is on something when all they have to do is look, listen and read. I’m not talking about looking, listening or reading other opinion pieces I’m talking about looking at his most recent statements on all the questions people seem to have about his current views. If you can’t even do that your decision to support or not support or to even critique Gingrich is hollow rhetoric.
- http://www.planettron.com NickDeringer
So given all that can you give Newt’s oppinion on Man Made Global Warming in one sentence?
If you can’t then you’ve prooven my point. You can’t let me win now….

Some times I get confused- Are we for this guy or against him or do we have to wait for the media to dump a new load of garbage on his campaign 3 days after each debate?
Just asking.

You will like who the GOP tells you to like.
Gingrich is to be referred to as an inside the beltway Republican, who strangely, none of the inside the beltway Republicans want to get near.
Romney is the ONLY man who can beat Obama, and BTW, all the inside the beltway Republicans can’t get enough of him. But don’t point that out.
Those are the GOP talking points, and remember, no negative comments about Obama in the election.
You have your orders, now go.

Try it with a bit deeper tone and add some raspy electronic breathing sounds….

LOL “(gasp) “Yes Luke, (gasp) Newt is your candidate” Luke: “NOOOOOOOOOO!”
Seriously though Newt is still better than the golfer-in-chief. - cabensg
So far the ones dumping on him are disgruntled former house members, Republican elite talking heads, Romney surrogates and the liberal press. Oh dear…who to believe.

The energy issue should be at the top of every candidate’s talking points. If you want something that has slowed our economy it is the cost of energy! Since BHO has taken office gas is up anywhere from $1.50 per gallon to $2.00 per gallon. This is costing the average American household anywhere between $40 to $100 more per WEEK just to get on with their lives. At the same time our divine dictator, BHO has spent billions in green energy scams that have not benefited the US Citizen at all!
Keep your friggin tax cuts of $10 per pay check if you can tell me that you’re gonna get the price of gas and electricity down. Unlike BHO who says that “energy cost will necessarily skyrocket” the GOP needs to take a stance and “Drill here and drill now!”

But no GREEN ENERGY!! GREEN JOBS!!!
Save the Snail Darter!

I do agree with Newt when he says the government should gauge the American people’s support of a policy before passing legislation. I also believe that Newt is a mixture of philosophies just like I am. But with that said, he is not the most conservative person on the stage. But I am not sure that we want the most conservative just like in the past most democraps did not want the most liberal candidate.Of course that seems to have changed. I am not a R. I am an I. I think for myself and I have a mixture of philosphies depending on the subject. But we need to engaged on the local level to take back the senate and keep the house and gain seats. Because if we want things done in a hurry in Jan 2013 we need to have all three. The WH, Senate and House. But we must have the Senate and the House just in case the democraps commit enough fraud to keep the WH. No third party support that will definitely mean another four years with this liar-in-chief. Remember anybody but Obama. Which will give us some more time effect change in the system. A balanced budget would get smaller government. Newt knows how to get a controlled balanced budget and we would get the balance budget amendment with him as president. That is the change we need. I am still a Perry supporter but I am not going to have tunnel vision since it is the people of Iowa that are speaking face to face with the candidates. Perry has the record of leadership.

And it’s never easy being “I.”
Thank you, Al.

This issue alone will show the hypocrisy of the man. I wouldn’t want to be a Democrat and try to justify his stand on this. The EPA is totally out of control and anybody that has our country’s best interests at heart knows this. It’s gotten to the point that it’s not how many jobs has he created or saved, it is openly now how many jobs has he killed or aborted for partisan and socialistic ideology reasons.
This idiotic stand also has to have some adverse effect on our relations with Canada which, up to now, has been one of our most loyal allies.
I would also bring up the fact that the oil supply would be in our hands not China’s.
Just another step he is taking in bringing down our country.

I’m 99.9% sure the “he” in this post is O’. Therefor, I officially, “like” it.

I’ll vote for Gingrich just because he will mop the floor with Obama in the debates.

I have graciously provided, at no cost to you, (kinda’) a precap of those debates above Doors Xp. If you could run up there and “like” it, I’d appreciate it. Daddy’s saving up for a new pair of chains to clank, and coincidentally, they take RightScoop likes at the chain store! (I know, right?) I need one for me and another for NYGino:
Mi, mi, mi…re, re, re…

I “like” your precap. That’s more or less as I imagined it. Not quite Lincoln-Douglas, perhaps a bit Buster-Douglas.

Ah yes, I remember that well…Buster Keaton and Michael Douglas.
Thanks

Don’t know weather to laugh or tear up. It’s kinda like a……..Christmas present.
I’ll hit the ‘like’ button three,no,four times. Thanks my friend. - Anonymous
Gotta hand it to Newt. Aside from his defense of his involvement with Freddie (acting like it was a regular business when it was a GSE), he kicked some major butt in the debate. Obama will defend against the attacks on his energy policy by saying we want to kill children with dirty air and water, and endager everyone with the pipeline trying to make it sound like we want to just dig a ditch (like a river) and send it through our waterways. I don’t think that will work outside of environmentalists.

Newts relevant past is 1994 through 1999 . Actions speak louder than words . 1rst republican congress in 40 years , contract with America , welfare reform , balanced the budget for 4 years etc. Watch this please ! - http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1285862229 Bob Smith
If Obama wanted to give the middle class a tax cut, he could do it by dropping the price of gas back to when he took office, about $1.40/gal less than it is right now. The middle class gets a tax cut and no one has to “pay” for it. You say the president doesn’t control the price of gas? Not directly, but his policies do. His fiscal policy of “Quantitative Easing” is probably the biggest, but in addition, putting the Keystone pipeline “on hold” and drilling moratoriums for political purposes are prolonging this miserable ecomony.

Newt Gingrich is the best qualified to run this country. You go Newt! I don’t care about his baggage. All politicians have baggage, show me one politician that has no baggage and I will introduce you to the real Santa.
