DeMint: They’re pounding the hell out of me

DeMint started out by discussing the Senate’s reluctance to penalize Murkowski by removing her from her position on the Energy and National Resources Committee – all of this because of her write-in campaign that can possibly hurt Joe Miller chances of winning. DeMint goes on to say:

“I’m the only one who spoke out against it (leaving Murkowski in her position). Mark, friendships are real important to me, and I appreciate all those who are standing by their friendships with Lisa, but this is not the time to put friendships in front of our country.”

A little later Levin asks:

“Alright Jim, you’re telling me, or I’m sensing this – you’re really getting pounded the hell out of in that cloak room aren’t you?”

DeMint responds:

“Yes, there’s no question about it. I don’t want anybody feeling sorry for me. I feel like if I can send people to fight and die in uniform for freedom, I can certainly do that here in a suit in a cloak room.”

DeMint is a real warrior for the cause of conservatism. He’s taking a beating because he is supporting these tea party candidates all over the country and he just keeps fighting. Man, he’s got my utmost respect. This interview was very eye opening for me.
