In an interview with Human Events editor Jason Mattera, DeMint says that even with a balanced budget amendment, which he spoke favorably of, he still will not vote to raise the debt limit since he hasn’t created this debt problem. And he encourages the young freshmen to not allow the other Republicans to talk them into it because they didn’t create this problem either. He wants the people who created this problem to take the blame for raising the debt limit:

I think he realizes the need to raise the debt ceiling but doesn’t want the political burden of raising it to fall solely on Republicans since they aren’t responsible for the need to raise the debt ceiling, especially the new freshmen.

Here's the deal, lets do this balanced budget deal battle in the war against big government spending for another day. lets negotiate this deal to raise the debt ceiling temporarily if he signs on to the repeal of Obamacare. Since we all know he will veto it an sustain a veto.

No lhe should lay the blame on the previous administration who borrowed from the chinese to wage two wars ( which are going so well by the way) and give tax breaks to the billionaires and corporations outsourcing American jobs- I rem. although a lot of you probably do not how delighted old tom delay was to tour those sweatshops in malaysia and envision that for American's middle class.

Yup. Just like the banks were too big to fail, along with the auto companies, and yeah, that stimulus or unemployment with go above 8% - EIGHT PERCENT!!! Sorry Chicken Little - the sky has been falling far too often lately. Is this another crisis that shouldn't be put to waste as good ole Rahm said?

A canary in the coalmine was used to warn the workers of toxic danger. Jim DeMint is one of the few canaries in the U.S. government toxic coalmine.
