The Democrats have just been told by the speaker pro tempore there will be no more debate before the vote, even though there were more than a dozen Democrats in the queue to speak. They shout “Shame! Shame! Shame!”
My first thought when I saw this was that this reminded me of the riots in Greece, when the people in the streets were shouting the very same ‘shame’ chant as the government began to implement austerity measures, like raising college tuition. But honestly, this scene above is disgusting to me. The Governor is trying to save the state from a fiscal crisis while trying to keep from laying off people and yet all these Democrats have for him is hateful vitriol. If the unions hadn’t abused their collective bargaining rights all these years by giving the state and localities the “it’s my way or the high way” ultimatum when negotiating, then maybe they wouldn’t be asked to give them up. But they are bleeding the state dry and it’s time to take the car keys away.
Michelle Malkin couldn’t have been more right, that these Democrats are crying in their Huggies-Pullups.
