Your commentary was on the spot. This coincides w businesses getting tax abatements for creating jobs. If a company plans to expand, they get many of their business taxes deferred for a certain period of time, as long as 10 years. Often times they create very few if any new jobs. I recently wrote a LTE and asked, if this particular company was doing so well they needed to expand, they would need to hire more people anyway. So why should they get a tax abatement for it? It is in essence, a bailout/entitlement spending. This particular company was a law firm. Any company that wants to expand should have a sound, financial plan to do so. If they don't, they should not be expanding.
It's the same thing as obama's tax the rich. Do you really think the wealthy are going to be paying more taxes after they take more deductions, put their wealth in tax shelters and overseas? And they won't be hiring anyone either because that is about the only tax they can't avoid. I don't have a problem w capitalism, just greed. This video is an example of greed and irresponsibility w taxpayer dollars.

Who really knows how much money and "free" government stuff Obama and his minions really did promise to people (not to mention unions) during the election? Just relax and take "comfort" in the knowledge that YOU are going to get stuck with the bill for it. Basket-case states like California, Illinois, New York, and Michigan will certainly get bailouts from the Federal Government because it's what they do best, spend money, especially money we don't have. So until we reach the point of being just like Greece, and that point IS going to come by 2016 at this rate, Obama and his enablers are going to keep spending like there's no tomorrow. Unfortunately, there always IS a tomorrow and it's coming real soon.

I think that's what God's telling us too. If we would've won this election we would've gone right back to business as usual. But now, we're forced to reflect and examine our hearts. God's giving us an opportunity, a measure of time, to repent of our nation's sins, to turn from our own futile ambitions and to return to our First Love -- Him. If we don't, God help us.
I wish more conservatives would embrace your thoughts. I believe the same thing and have since obama was elected in 08. Conservatives have gotten way off course over a number of years and they have not been getting it. 4 years of obama apparently was not enough.

I honestly don't think Obama will do anything to bail out cities like Detroit. He only hands out our money where he stands to gain politically or financially. What does he stand to gain by helping Detroit? He's done running for office. Even if he could run again, Detroit would vote for him because he's black, period. He will keep the slaves of the government in their place.

I think he should bail them out. Every last one of the idiots that voted for him should get on the band wagon and hound him and DC till they can't stand it anymore. They so think they are entiltled to it because they did vote for him - after all he gave them free phones and all the other free stuff they get. Grr I am so sick and tired of this.

We started down this road a long time ago. FDR discovered he could win by giving out OPM. You've got to give her credit for saying out loud the game much of the country has been playing under the table for years. When the rules of the game are acknowledged out loud we have a chance to change them.
This is funny coming from the party of "bipartisanship". Why can't these folks just swallow their pride and work with the State government to fix those problems with the budget? If I can recall, they have a Republican governor. Sheesh. This kind of thinking is the problem with this country.
We have a Republican everything in Michigan since 2010 at the state level and we still have that after this recent election. That's why she's appealing directly to Obama instead of Snyder.
We did have a city managers law in place where they could come in and retake the purse strings from poorly managed cities like this, but it was voted down (gutted) as one of six ballot proposals.
Currently we are pushing "Right To Work" through the state house and trying to relax some stifling gun regulations. That's working it's way through too.
If the gun thing passes, I'm buying my wife and daughters some ultra-high-voltage stun guns to carry around. They have some that look just like cellphones now.

Adding to that, apparently the legislature is going to let Detroit go bankrupt. Also Snyder is pushing for school vouchers and gas drilling. Snyder would be a better president man.

Congress should freeze spending: unnecessary spending as well as perceived necessary spending.
It think we should simultaneously re-adopt the 1999 budget and the 1999 tax rates. That would make everybody happy. We would eliminate the "Bush tax cuts" and put some of the burden back on the lower income people while raising taxes on the rich. We also cut spending back to the "near-balanced" level of 1999.
There would be trade-offs. For example the repubs would give up Medicare part D and No Child left behind. The dems would give up Obamacare, the increased CAFE standard on car makers the higher minimum wage and the stimulus spending enacted in 2009 and 2010. As well as most of the "green jobs" money.
There would be no more "Obamaphones" we would cut foodstamps back to 1999 levels put the work requirement back into welfare and pull out of all military conflicts started since 2000. Sounds like a fair deal to me, what do you think?
Since Barky Boy thinks Israel should go back to 1967, I propose the US do the same! 1967 budget, 1967 welfare, food stamp, Pell Grants, Medicare, Medicaid, and on.
This is the same city that keeps electing the same types like Kwame Kilpatrick and Coleman Young. Both were absolute disasters and could probably still get elected. It's your fault Detroit, not ours. Now go tell your unions that they lose and the benefits are no longer available. UGH!!!
