The story here isn’t the ejection of Suh, even though his actions were clearly intentional and uncalled for in yesterday’s game. The story here is that Suh expects us to believe that he didn’t do that which he was accused. In a press conference yesterday, he said he was simply trying to get his balance and the “man upstairs” knows that he is telling the truth.

Here’s his statement to the press:

If you hadn’t seen the actual footage of what happened yesterday, you might think he sounds believable enough. But here’s the clip from yesterday’s game where he was ejected:

Not only was he trying to shove the guy’s head in the ground, but he clearly looked down just before stomping the same guy on the arm. And then he tries to tell us he was just trying to get his balance and accuses the press of making up their own narrative to fit what they wanted to see?

Typically, this is something common among children who lie to their parents to avoid getting in trouble. But Suh is a grown man and yet he still lies, even with HD footage showing exactly what happened and how angry he was when he stomped the other player.

It’s one thing to lose your cool in a game as physical as football, especially when you were just beaten pretty badly. It happens all the time as tempers flare and it sometimes ends up with a physical confrontation. Even if Suh had apologized for it, accepting the consequences of his poor behavior, we would still all know that he has problems controlling his temper. But we could accept that he would be penalized by the NFL and hope that he would learn his lesson.

But to lie to the press, and ultimately the fans, is to make known his low opinion of us, that he thinks we are dumb enough to accept his lies as truth. We have eyes and what we see is an immature man who is a liar, who in his arrogance reveals that he has little moral foundation upon which he lives.

And that will likely hurt his legacy far more than losing his temper on the field. And it should.

This is clearly an example of an obviously racist, white referee discriminating against an innocent minority, who is guilty of nothing more than expressing his diverse opinion to his white oppressor, Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith. I expect the ACLU to file an anti-discrimination suit immediately.

    Resist we much.

I don’t watch football often, so I could almost give him a pass on shoving his head into the ground a couple of times- but that was in no way trying to regain balance. That was immature and unsportsman like.
By the way mr. suh, the man upstairs does have a name. Don’t be afraid to say it.

No matter, this idiot is going to be issued a healthy fine to which he’ll learn how to control himself or be suspended from the league for his childish tantrums. Other than that, it’s his money if he chooses to throw it away.

      • http://twitter.com/PoeAllen Allen Poe

Football is a very complex game. rules are set up for all players. In school games, you can be throw out of school for being such a idiot. Being pro, means you get paid to be there, not to win at any cost. A Dallas Cowboy, destroyed his new foreign car, was simply fined $10,000, and banned from pro football. That is simple fine. Say you break a quarterbacks arm. You get fined what the club will lose, then you get fined for being an idiot, then you get banned from football, and any kind of job, slightly connected to pro ball. He will get no medical help. Most end up as bouncers, or day laborers. This is a direct result of sports media coverage. They always have to make their point, and ignore reality. I had some friends, banned from football. We were doing church work, Their only source of income, I did mine free. I asked them what they would do different, they said not play football. The press always pryed into their lives, and ruined it. Women, drugs, cars, anything, and then nothing, they were 30 years old.

OH God! Is that the name to which you refer, ABC?

He probably realized that if he used GOD the media would bleep it anyway.

Suh will be celebrated for bad sportmanship and lying. Tebow will be vilified for thanking Jesus.

Because of Tebow, I am now a Broncos fan.

      Love him!

Someone should press his nose against a screen playing those last moments!! And capture his reaction. If he doubles down on it, he’ll prove he’s got no decency!

There are a lot of players in all sports that have “issues” and no matter how good they are eventually teams will shy away and their earnings will diminish because they are difficult and high maintenance and not worth it. If I were him I would see a shrink to help me change my ways or a very good investment banker because my earnings will shortly run out.

    • Anonymous

Yep. Ever since the Cowboys hired Terrell Owens I have been rooting for them to lose. Now he’s on the Bengals of course, but I still root for the Cowboys to lose.

I love the Giants, the Colts, and the Patriots the most.

      • Is_Sense_Common

Be careful about rootin for dem Cowboys to lose – you might get blocked at The Scoop. (LOL!) It’s been a difficult year to root for the Colts though. Interesting that you like the Pats AND the Colts. Is that sacrelig??

        • Anonymous

It shows how good Peyton is doesn’t it? They just fell apart like a house of cards you accidentally kicked.

I like them both because of the quarterbacks Manning and Brady and their individual work ethics. It’s such a pleasure watching them both. Perfectionists. Now when the Pats play the Colts, it’s really tough. I usually tilt towards Manning then.

So, Scoop’s a Cowboys fan? Well, if so, I’ll just take the S and the C off the front of his name…now what’ve ya’ got? Oops!

          • Anonymous

You must be jokiing. Brady is a whiner 49′ner and P Manning is a class act.

      • Anonymous

You used to root for the ‘Boys? Thats like France rooting for America and then rooting for Nazi Germany. Point is your are going to be disappointed at the end of the season. How do you like the Pats and Colts at the same time? Haven’t met many fans that root for both sides in one of the best rivalries in football. Go Cowboys!

I’ll have to answer that with this.

HaHa. Great answer. You got me on that one.

Rshill7, Owens is no longer with the Bengals. He is still a great wide receiver but nobody wants him now after all the angst. As you know, it’s not only athletic ability it’s also character that counts.

        • Anonymous

He was always so busy tooting his own horn, nobody else could get their lips on it. Had he been modest and let everyone else do the tooting, he might be listening to some great brass right about now.

And to that Gino I would say the following: “A great personality will open many doors in life, but it’s your character that keeps them open!”

I am a Detroit Lion Fanatic. I was born and raised on the Detroit Lions, and this year we have done pretty good. We have been drafting finally responsibly. Suh is a great asset to our team, he is a great defensive player out of Nebraska.

But Suh needs anger management classes, he is a liar, he deserved to be ejected from the game, he is the highest fine player this year. He even had a meeting with the head of the NFL to get the rules right, to know and understand what he is and is not allowed to do. When he played for Nebraska he didn’t act this way.

If he is a muslim I dont’ know. His father from Cameroon and his mother is from Jamaica. I don’t think he is. His name means House of Spears. He has beautiful sisters, and he does have a heart of Gold. the gift and what he does for Nebraska is amazing. He also is very active with kids.

But the way the Lions played Yesterday, and the way he played yesterday and for that matter all year, was un necessary and uncalled for.

Schwartz is going to have to come out and say that behavior is not going to be tolerated. The NFL is reviewing this next week, and I think he needs to be suspended for the Rest of the year.

So uncalled for and just hurts us. Last year he did not play like this. I am wondering if he thinks because they are winning, if he can get away with anything.

  • Anonymous

The guy isn’t a Muslim. I don’t think what he did was right but people need to relaxe. This sport became what it was by being at the bottom of the dog pile and squeezing a guys junk down there trying to get the football. Big hits and ripping someone’s helmet off. Watch football from even 15 or twenty years back. They’ve achieved making the NFL the Nancy, Flo and Lisa league. I miss the days when they would hate each other like the Eagles and Cowboys. You do have to face some consequences but not as stiff as today. Watching that happen yesterday brought back memories.

Pathological liar!! Sometimes I wish I was a psychiatrist so I could understand the reasons somepeople are the way they are.

Could be he’s that way because they named him Ndamukong. How would you like to go through life repeating your name four times and spelling it three times when someone asks you your name? I know, I’m a racist.

There he is on video, stomping the player’s right arm, then lying about it. Outright lying about it! Is that cowardice? Imbecility? If he tells the truth does he think his Johnson will fall off?

What would the baby mama say? (Insert here: _ )

If you didn’t see the game yesterday, Detroit was still in the game, only down by seven. After this play, Green Bay scored 17 unanswered points.

Not only is he in denial, he cost Detroit the game.

He should be suspended for the rest of the year…period.

  • Mary Beth House

At first I thought he was irritated because the Packer was holding his leg and he was kicking him to get back at him for that. But with that other angle, it’s clear he was smushing the Packer’s head into the ground…he was not being held by the Packer…and then he lashed out without thought to the consequences to himself or the Packer.

Reminds of that great scene in Magnolia where the cop finds the dead body in the lady’s closet and she says, “That ain’t mine.” But, before people get too exercised about this, I grew up in Pittsburgh (full disclosure diehard fan) and Mean Joe was called that for a reason. For me, Suh’s reaction just makes him a clown. And, he will continue to be a liability to the Lions until he can learn to play hard only between the whistles…

  • Anonymous

Mr Suh meet Mr Goodell and your 2 game suspension.

  • Anonymous

    Unacceptable.

  • http://www.crosssworksme.com GiantM

On one hand, there have been a few if not many football players that HAVE played dirty over the years, Suh being one of them of course. They’ve been fined for their actions and everybody moves on.

But in this case, this is one that clearly draws the line. Not only because …

    1. He’s a multiple offender

    2. In this case….the camera does not lie.

    3. He clearly did it, and then lies about it! And in doing so, tells the rest of the world…we’re idiots for thinking otherwise!

To actually stand there after the game and come up with such a lame excuse should only result in one way to handle this. Suspend him for the season and a 200k fine. This will let the rest of the bunch know, enough is enough.

As I’ve always said: “Nip it in bud”

    • Anonymous

Ban him from the NFL for life and fine him a million.

The man upstairs huh. Suh is no Tebow lol.

  • mrcombi

I know the definition of a stomp and that was one, he should be suspended for a quarter of a season…

  • KenInMontana

Suh’s behavior was unacceptable and for him to lie about it afterwards exhibits the same pattern of a lack of personal responsibility that is epidemic across our country and the rest of the world. The game was a showcase of emotions run amuck, what I found remarkable about the commentary after the game was that everyone seems to have forgotten that a member of the Packers was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct in the first quarter, he did not appear on tv and lie about his actions, but he was not interviewed about it either. Might have had something to do with Suh’s past problems, at the same time it should have gotten some mention as well.

Ndamukong Suh has shown himself to be the total ignorant football player that he is with stomping on the arm of another football player from another team which is totally unacceptable in football. As far as I am concerned he should be let by the Detroit Lions and be permanently banned from ever playing football ever again because of his stupidity and ignorance.
