Rest assured that Dick Durbin rarely says much that could be construed as sensical when he delivers a speech from the Senate floor. But you know the saying about broken clocks, and so here we have Durbin admitting that we have to do something about Medicare before the program goes belly up sometime within the next 10 or 12 years. This is quite an epiphany for a liberal!
Of course, nobody knows what Durbin or any Democrat is proposing as a solution. As best I can tell, the Democrats’ plan for reforming Medicare is…to just sit back, let the program die, and flog Paul Ryan for proposing specific reforms. Actually, it’s worse than that – the Democrats gutted $500 billion from Medicare to help fund Obamacare. They’re accelerating Medicare’s inevitable collapse.
Still, let’s not accuse Durbin of throwing Grandma over a cliff or anything. That wouldn’t be very nice.
