Two thoughts: Her conversion to Islam and back to Christianity might have both been false. The reason given and the statement that "she converted her family back to Christianity" do not line with biblical conversion. Might be sloppy reporting, hard to know. Secondly, when they get out of jail, will they thrown back in for another 15 years if they are still professing Christians?

Didn't the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper say while Mubarak was being overthrown that the Muslim Brotherhood was "mainly secular?" Sure, and pigs fly. This is what you get when radical Islamists take over a country. Expect to see a major pogrom against Christians soon, especially if the Muslim Brotherhood totally takes over the Army. When that happens, the Christians in Egypt had better find a new place to live.
Christians knew that all the jumping and cheering in the streets by Egyptians, after they got rid of Mubarak, would lead to disaster for them. They're not interested in democracy. Sharia has to be the most devilish standards put on people, especially women, in the history of the world. We think we live in a 'modern' world, when this kind of cruelty can be applied to innocent people, but let's remember that the word 'modern' does not mean better. It's true meaning stands for 'the times we live in', that's all. An improved modern society is one that has evolved to enlightenment, and Sharia remains a regressive shackle that binds people for impulsive controls.
So will the 'liberty'-screaming left now say this is a really humane judgement, because they only go to prison and haven't had their heads chopped off?
Will they now say that shariah is as gentle as the muslims claim it is?
I know one thing they will say: that lady and her children shouldn't have converted back to Christianity in the first place, so it's all their fault ...
Looking at the increase in islamic states, and the wider and wider implementation of shariah across the world, it feels as if we're marching backwards, culturally, with ever greater speed.
Islam DOES NOT consider any other religion OR state as legitimate or worthy of recognition.
Islam DOES NOT consider any agreement, promise or treaty with another religion or state, signed or otherwise, as valid. (Islamists have broken every treaty with Israel).
Islam DOES NOT consider women, Jews or Christians as equal human beings.
Islam should never be negotiated with or allowed in the fellowship of nations.
Islam should be banned from the face of the earth.
Christians are facing extinction in the middle east (yes Libs, it is happening and nor is it a "right wing conspiracy theory") and yet the world just sits there. Frank Gaffney actually talked about this a few days ago, and at the rate it's going, the Christian population in the middle east is going to be pretty much gone sadly. But, if we mention this, we are "Islamaphobic".
One day, soon, the whole world will be 'Christian', and won't even need to use the word anymore.

Why isn't this in the media,, I know but still frustrated,,,, the de vil runs this planet so the media is always silent on the persecutions of Christians. I just need to realize this. Even if the Egyptians had kil led them there would be no note of it.

I recently met some coptic Christians who saw the handwriting on the wall, just before Mubarak was removed from office. They were intimidated and threatened with death every week. They fear for the rest of family and friends who try not to venture out too much, and who are now living a more fearful life than they ever knew under Mubarak.
While we party, there are serious plotters working behind the scenes against us.
Let us not forget this man:
Pray for him as he faces a death sentence for being a Christian.

Yes, and gave the government 2 billion dollars of taxpayer money. Imagine how many foreclosures could have been prevented with that kind of money. The money could have been used to buy some time for the residents of homes going under foreclosures.
Lord help us, that never made sense to me the whole thing of giving these countries billions and war weapons that can be used against us (during war and peace time with them). But yet we remain in this huge climbing debt and our defense ($+ more) is decreasing. Of course while our military is being undermined in many ways and between training given/approved by muslin brotherhood members (in admin) and even terrorists/extremists and anti-islam materials removed, the materials, equipment and money is not there to make sure they are protected and/or have proper equipment, etc, let alone laws of not able to carry or shoot. Its terrible what is going on. (all this while UN and FEMA grow immensely).
We have a muslim in the White House. I bet Obama discussed all these things with the muslim brotherhood when he had them over for dinner---all under the security of armed guards, of course, many who were probably Christian. What a farce.
Egypt used to be such a friendly country, I loved going there and meeting the Egyptian people. I think that they are the victims of this govt. The people are not all like that bunch.
They are victims of a revolution that was designed and carried out by foreign influences. What we are seeing now was always the desired goal of those who orchestrated it. They sold it as a grass roots movement that was spurred on through social media, but what people tend to forget is that Google took credit for helping to get the revolution going. Google is essentially CIA, so the Egyptian uprising was not so much of a natural occurrence, although the atmosphere was ripe for it.
Converting to Christianity to obtain an inheritance is similar to claiming to be a Christian just to get elected President (names left out to protect the innocent - me from Obama).
As much as I detest the laws of Sharia and my heart goes out to these children, one should have a religious conviction before converting to any religion. I won't stand in judgment, that is up to God. I will only pray for these children and their future.

Interesting take. Where did you read that? I read the full article and all I saw was that she converted to Islam after she married him, and reverted back 'to obtain an inheritance'. I found that strange to just insert in the story, if it wasn't the main reason.
thats why i said maybe... we really dont know the circumstances.. one thing is for sure they will murder for allah and im trying to make sense of it... knowing that she and her children would be imprisoned or murdered for converting back to christianity, just doent make sense...
Somehow, though, I believe the mother preferred to raise her children in a belief system of justice, than the injustice of Sharia. She converted before Mubarak was removed, but the judge under Sharia was too ignorant to take that into consideration. Well, maybe he did, and that's why he didn't sentence her to death. It's still very cruel, though. Imagine, that what muslims are pushing for in North America---to obtain the right to apply only Sharia laws to muslims living here. How can any muslim support that, unless, only the men think it's good for them to be able to be so dominant over their women. What a time to bring those guys here, when we have such cowardly, dysfunctional politicians who never have anything to say about this kind of thing. Afraid of leftist media criticism?
Isn't it ironic that, in our country meant for individual freedoms, we already allow the murder of our unborn babies (unable to fight for themselves) and now, allowing Sharia, women and children would lose their freedoms right along with potentially any religious person outside of Islam. Second amendment rights are presently in their gunsights, and control of the internet is pending.
The trend is obvious. And it must be reversed.
I agree. We must be involved in any way we can. The biggest reason Obama was elected to his second term was because people didn't get involved (over 90 million eligible voters staying home is simply unacceptable).
Referring this site to friends and family is a good first step. Using social media too. Then organize petitions to be sent to our representatives, listing our concerns, and demanding action to ptotect our country from foreign influences--especially lobbying that harms our way of life and social good.
It's a start.
