God, family, republic. Bill, not one word about God's role in this selection of this leader. Why not? You are right, either Romney or Obama will be president but not without the sanctioning of God's sovereignty allowing them that position, nor His omniscience to foretell the victor, nor the power to judge their actions as our leader. My vote pails in comparison to my prayer acknowledging Him as My Commander and Chief over a mere man.
I'm voting for Gov Gary Johnson. I would have voted for Ron Paul but unfortunately he's not on the ballot. My husband and I are long time republicans who've voted in every election both primary and local. There is no difference between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. Romney says he wants to get rid of it, but Romneycare was the blueprint for Obamacare. Romney says we're headed towards a fiscal cliff yet both he and Obama supported and endorsed the massive bank bailouts with our tax dollars, He says he wants a strong America yet both Obama and he are weakening our country with their foreign policy. We are spreading violence and interfering in the affairs of other countries and making more and more enemies every day. We are reaping the rewards of our efforts overseas with blowback. The Libyan Ambassador is dead because of blowback, thousands of our citizens were killed on Sept 11 2001 due to blow back, you would think our politicians who are supposed to be so smart and educated would see the connection between our policies overseas and the increasing terrorist threat against Americans everywhere.
The consequences of this war on terror has been to restrict civil liberties, allowed our president to extrajudically assassinate American citizens without due process, and the NDAA which gives the president the authority to detain indefinitely American citizens without due process, without even being charged if he deems them a threat; a policy which Mitt Romney supports. The consequences of this war on terror is thousands upon thousands of innocent people being killed around the globe with our drones which don't differentiate between child and terrorist.
Do you feel safer now than on Sept 10 2001? I don't Do you feel your liberty is safer now than on Sept 10 2001? I don't. Do you feel that our elected officials are taking our liberties away bit by bit to to the point where we have TSA stationed at every major transportation hub ready to grope you, your parents, and your children in the name of safety? I do. Mitt Romney and Obama might as well be the same person as far as I'm concerned, more and more people are coming to the same conclusion every day, so don't try to tell me to vote for the lesser of two evils again. It will not happen. This is a vote to ensure that the Libertarian party reaches the 5% threshold in order to obtain major party status and $90 million dollars for the next presidential campaign. I'm tired of having to choose between the lesser of two evils. I want some real change for a change.
You wont get any real change if Obama is put back in office. You'll have 4 more years of more hell than we had these last 4 years, and there probably wont be a Gary Johnson party to vote for next time.
Bill Whittle did what few other Conservatives would ever do: Apologize for saying that voting for anything other than Romney, is a vote for Obama. It is offensive and it is untrue, and so I give kudos to Bill Whittle.
Now the rest of you join him in that apology.
Just had a guy try to tell me romney would be better at foreign policy!
Wow....lets take a look at how he has done dabbling in foreign policy so far:
For instance he goes on a European tour and insults the British who have been one of our strongest allies.
And you have got to just LOVE this one. Romney declares that Russia is our #1 geopolitical enemy. The next thing you know a pro Putin brown shirt group is harassing Mormons in Russia. Romney insults Russia and now Russia is looking to deport all Mormons from Russia! Wow imagine what kind of crap he could step in as president!

Bill, anyone who can live up to their principles has set their standards too low.
I voted for Hillary in the primary and McCain in the general election in 2008. I held my nose each time. Romney was not my guy but he already has my early vote and I felt so much better about him then the two votes I cast four years ago.
Amen Bill Whittle! You humbly said this may not be your best effort.....
I disagree. You do our nation a service that is UNBELIEVABLY vital. This is the heart and lifeblood of our Republic. And you say it all with grace, strength, and truth.
Thank you!
A vote for a third party candidate in a Senate race or not voting in a Senate race is a vote for the incumbent, mostly likely a Democrat incumbent.
Possibly his most important and relevent Firewall to date.
Get out and vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.
Excellent, thoughtful, rational and wise commentary. Thank you Mr. Whittle for stating so well what many understand and for trying to get through to those who still are not getting it.
I feel sorry for you then. I'm writing Ron Pauls name in that is who I want to vote for.. Romney don't have a stance but to whatever crowed is standing in front of him.. Hes lies worse then Obama and you are going to trust him anyway... Your not very bright my friend. .. He will be just as bad as Obama. Even Ron Paul said so. You know what you still have a lot to learn.. The machines are rigged. Look up hacking democracy. You cast that vote for Mitt Romney it will give Obama 3 votes and Romney zero! So go right ahead and vote for Romney.. You just sold your soul. By the way you can find that vid on youtube. Your principles aren't set very high and yet you still break them.. Sorry...:(
I hope you'll be able to look in the mirrow at the end of the week when we have 4 more years of President Obama.
All you are really doing by writing in RuPaul is voting for obama!
Great job!! You shoud be ashamed of yourself!
Take another puff off your "joint" and have some munchies. Maybe then you will show up to vote on the 7th.
SO - vote for Ryan. Ryan has a budget plan to get the US out of debt. Ryan has remained conservative for his entire career. He's pro-life.
It is your duty to Vote against Obama and the Islamist/marxist/fascist thugs for whom he is working.
I copied and pasted your comment and emailed it to all my friends so they could waste their time like I did reading that ridiculous argument. Romney lies more than Obama? Please. Do America a favor and just don't vote. You have the right to vote but you also have the right to not participate and do everyone a favor.
With dismissing your belittling to whom ever.... Hacking democracy will not happen for one reason first off we are not a democracy we are a republic and second not all ballots cast are via computer screen input most are still paper ballots making for a very hard hack in the long run...
Vote for who you wish that's what makes a republic so great.. No one will be as bad as Barack Hussein Obama who is the only owner of that and no one can lie as much or worse then Barack Hussein Obama except the father of all lies.....
Not one human being can sell its soul it can only be offered over of its own freewill to a demon... semantics maybe but if there is a demon in this equation I know who it is and it is not Romney....... Ron Paul is a great Constitutionalists and Senator but that's it for now....
Ron Paul is a Congressman of over 20 years with zero accomplishments...other than a sour puss attitude which seems to be a hallmark characteristic of Paul supporters.
Partial audit of the Fed. Nobody accomplishes anything unless they go along to get alone.
You are going to vote for Ron Paul, who has absolutely NO chance of winning this election, and is not even a contender; as in not even on a ballot; so that YOU will feel good. WOW! May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened...Ephesians 1:18
Ron Paul would not fight against the drugs and porn, even child porn that is sickening our country.
Agree without exception and Amen.... Romney was not my choice either but is my only choice to save this country from a self induced destruction and I will gladly make that choice on November 6 2012....... This country must be saved from her stupid 4 year ago self induced free fall into the abyss....
Romney is such an idiot. I can't wait for election night when they announce that Obama has won reelection! I will force myself to turn on Faux News and laugh at Karl and the rest of the Fixed News stooges, trying to explain how, once again, they were all wrong! It will be the funniest (and LONGEST) 5 minutes of my life, but well worth it!
If you voted for Obama once, I forgive you. If you voted for him twice you are an idiot.
Four more, baby.
You guys are going to be fetal positioned across America.
I love it!
.
Yeah, he is so stupid. Oh wait, who was the mute in the debates? Oh yeah, that was Obama. Who was the one who could say nothing but, "That's not true"?? Oh yeah that was O'bama. Well he probably talks to our enemies in the same fashion, and it's no wonder they think we are a country of wimps...because he IS is wimp. I don't think Romney is going to have that impression at all. Otherwise the international list of our enemies would not be pushing Obama...they would be pushing Romney. Idiot indeed. I have to take a breath because I am laughing at you so hard!!!
So basically you are saying romney will be better at foreign policy!
SEE: http://www.rferl.org/content/pro-kremlin-group-wants-mormons-out-of-russia/24757052.html
You'll be laughing in your dreams after going to bed crying because Romney won by such a LANDSLIDE that you had no other choice but to drown yourself in sleep.
No worries, though! If you need cheering, you can watch Axelrod shave his mustache on Live TV. In that, we can all laugh together.
Four more, baby.
You guys are going to be fetal positioned across America.
I love it!
You will have to go to a alternate universe for that to occur on election night... Hope that universe has plenty of room for you and the rest that can dream such horrid dreams... And take your messiah Barack Hussein Obama with ya...... That will be the best 5 minutes of this countries life and well worth it......
Thank you! I am now printing your post and I will frame it and hang it next to the one from the BIGFOOT group. Who would have ever thought that it would be the CRAZY BITHERS that would bring the TEA party together with the BIGFOOT movement!?
Wow. More evidence that liberals place big importance on small things. Enjoy your Obama phone. Bigfoot? Birthers?
You do realize that the whole "birther" thing was started by Hillary's primary campaign manager in 2008, right? Over 90% of all Tea Party activists did not want to engage in birther talk because it distracted from the real issues. You see, we Tea Party conservatives care about big issues (economy, energy, principles, character, not leaving our people alone to die in Benghazi as they are begging for help, etc.).
I just got an email from a BIGFOOT group!
.
Here is part of
it: ( "We take great pride in our research, outreach and educational
endeavors. We ask that you immediately cease and desist in your
defamatory comments that try to compare and link us to these "bither"
groups. If you persist in such a slanderous way as you have been we will
bring litigation against you." )
.
I am having the email framed!
I tell you this just made my DAY! The BIGFOOT fools are shocked and
EMBARRASSED to be associated with BIRTHERS!! Haaaaaa Haaaaaaaaaaaa!!
Mr. Whittle makes some good points. The reality is, that one of these two is going to be elected. The reality is, that Obama is the most destructive "individual" to ever reside at 1600 Pen Ave. Reality is, that we may not survive four more years of Obama.
When saying "we may not survive four more years", I think that people need to qualify this statement, because it just sounds radical to many. Up until now, all I ever heard from other conservatives is that American will never fall.
I would ask "who put us in such a weak condition as to set this country up to be susceptible to not surviving one administration"? Well, it was a consorted effort between two parties who have secured their electoral monopoly in such a way as to literally have an electoral dictatorship.
If both parties have contributed their fair share to the economic decline, moral decline, constitutional decline, industrial decline, and legislative decline of this country, then how can anyone expect those with conscience and conviction to continue to support those who support all of the things that brought us to this point?
The problem is that something is going to have to give. Electing Romney will keep us on the same path that we have been on for a long time. There is no substantive change coming with Romney. By his own words he admits that there will be no change in our financial, banking, or monetary system. There will be no restoration of our bill of rights under the law, and he will continue what Bush started, and Obama continued. Romney will run the country the same way that the last few presidents have.
When Romney takes office, conservatives are going to give him free reign for a while. When he disappoints the base, conservatives say that they will "hold his feet to the fire". How? Are we going to go online and complain? I am sure that we will, but we are still going to have an embedded establishment in D.C. that cannot be knocked out through elections. (both dems and pubs) This establishment will not let Obama care be repealed. Sorry, but "this is reality". Romney is not anti-establishment.
One thing that Whittle did not address is that voting third party does help to get them elected next time around. If their percentages are high enough, they will receive financial benefits, and possibly debate inclusion. Now that the establishment controls national debates, that may not be true.
Some people are considering the validity of Einstein's famous quote: "Doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result, is INSANITY".
I know full well that most people here are not happy with the republicans. They will admit that their track record over the last 25 years has been traitorous to our principles. They know that both parties are the problem, and that they are both destroying our country. We can argue the fine points, but overall, this is "reality".
If we are courageous enough to admit this reality, then doesn't Einstein's statement apply? If so, then are we choosing insanity? Isn't it insane to support the downfall of our country?
What causes us to support insanity? Well, it isn't that we don't have convictions. It isn't that we don't care. No, it is that we are afraid. We live in constant fear of Obama getting four more years. We live in such fear of terrorism that we give up our essential rights and allow government to oppress us. We are cowards who cannot turn from our support of corruption and take a real political stand against the powers that be. We fool ourselves into thinking that "maybe the next election will change things". Really? Is that reality? Be honest with yourself. Break free from this insanity. Take charge of your own life and quit living in fear. Christians who live in fear are infants in their faith who are still sucking on the tit of others, and are susceptible to all kinds of deceptions.
If you have convictions, then stand by them. The only thing that Romney is going to do for you is make you feel better for a while. How is that going to help this country?
Political revolution will happen soon, or violent revolution will happen. Political revolution means abandoning the two parties and forcing their hand. If there is a mass exodus from the two parties, the system will retaliate, and everyone will see them plainly for who they are, which is nothing but a bunch of tyrants, plain and simple. It is better to flush your enemy out into the open, than for them to remain hidden and have false hope.
Whittles "reality" is still "insanity". Though I will say thank you Bill, for making me argue your points, and strengthening my convictions. I will go to bed just a little less insane.
You presume that people think life will change with one man in one office. Most know that isn't even remotely the truth, however leadership from the White House to the right elected representatives in Congress can change a lot. Reagan changed not only this country but the impact was rippled around the world and that was with a crappy Congress. Change will always come from within not without.
The president has the ability to do things that could literally turn things around. Using executive orders within constitutional bounds is not a problem. The president alone could cut $1T in spending without the approval of congress. Reagan was shutting down the DOE before he got shot. After that, it was like he was constantly on mind control drugs. We still have the DOE.
The president alone can end the TSA. He can bring the troops home and quit policing the world. He can take some of the money spent on militarization and beef up defense. He can secure the borders. He can shut down the FDA, USDA, and others, and return it to the states.
DHS is now the largest federal agency. The president can shut down the fusion centers that do nothing but spy on the American citizens. The president can shut down FEMA.
The president can order an end to prosecuting legal currency creating companies, and order the the creation of a sovereign currency, which would put the Fed out of business, and give us a currency that could retain its value.
The president could end the state of emergency that we have been under since 1933, which effectively has turned our legal system into a corporate entity. Executive order by every president keeps that going. The president can cancel out the martial law executive orders. (continuity of government)
The president can refuse to sign spending bills that are bankrupting this country, and funding communist and socialist agendas, including Planned Parenthood, which would force the hand of congress to act responsibly or get voted out due to the fact that the president called them out for the liberals they are. (both parties)
The president can do a lot more than many people know. It is a sham and a lie that we have to get the presidency and congress tilted toward one party to get things done. Propagating that lie keeps everybody on the hook, and compromising with false hope.
Every single solitary thing you just said is pure bull squeeze replete with assertions and nothing what so ever to back it up. How you vote does matter, or at least it should, personally. Yep I live in California and one could stretch and say my vote doesn't matter...but to me it matters because I can look in the mirror and say "I'm not buying it!" I can sleep at night.
As to the rest of what you posted my suggestion is you learn the difference between governance and politics and how the two effect each other. What one can do legally and one can do politically are not always one and the same.
BTW...take a better look at Reagan and why he backed off the agenda. What were the election pick up's and losses? What did he trade for that agenda? My uncle worked for Reagan for 30 years and I guarantee you he never did any political policies unless he got something political he wanted more.
I said "it was like he was on mind control drugs". I didn't say that he was. His demeanor and lucidity changed. He backed off on progress that he was making. (such as shutting down the DOE)
The things that I mentioned are within a president's legal and constitutional authority to do. Executive orders are the tool used to pass down orders to the federal government agencies. They can be abused, but I wasn't suggesting making new laws via executive order.
I would love to see Romney rejecting debt spending bills for everything under the sun. I just can't bring myself to hope, based on his history. I would love to see Romney reject raising the debt ceiling. I would love to see a lot of things, including the things that I forecast being wrong.
I have to wonder how many people, who vote, actually know whether or not their vote counts. First of all, Oregon has not been a factor in a presidential race for several decades. The winner is announced, and the loser concedes, before Oregon has their tally.
On top of that, only three counties vote for the rest of Oregon. They have all the electoral points conglomerated into one area around Portland. The rest of the state can vote totally opposite, and it doesn't matter.
I am waiting until the last minute to drop off my ballot. If the one billion to one odds are beaten, and Oregon matters, I will likely vote for Romney. Otherwise it literally doesn't matter how I vote unless I vote third party, because a certain percentage for them gets them funding for the next election.
"there is a far greater difference between governance and politics"
I don't believe that we have much time to make radical changes in order to save this country from massive poverty and loss of sovereignty, so politics as usual won't suffice in my opinion. We need a radical, but one who is constitutional.
Problem is your presumptions have some holes in it. How do you know Reagan was on mind control drugs? Your comment in that regards brings anything you say into question as well as your credibility.
Yes the president has powers but just because he has them doesn't necessarily mean he should use them. We do elect a Congress to represent us and don't forget the built in checks and balances. President is not synonymous with Totalitarian.
As to refusing funding and signing of bills...let's wait and see if a President Romney does just that, if elected and people like you throwing their vote away won't get us there. Bush did refuse to sign a lot of things including embryonic stem cell research funding and it didn't help him much.
There is a far greater difference between governance and politics.
Well some points are true to some degree... But this idea that a new birth of a party separate from the other two will occur when there is no republic for it to occur in is going to lead to exactly where you do not wish this republic to go..... As far as insanity that is found only in the idea that you are suggesting just read your words... Those words if put in motion will cause the reverse effect from what you seek... Not one conservative that votes to save this country from certain destruction is in anyway insane or should feel that they are doing a disservice to this republic for they are not... For with a republic all things are possible without one nothing is...
Also die hard liberal socialist democrats will not abandon the democrat party no matter what they see as you suggested thus no mass exodus would occur from a democrat party ever.... It would grow more socialist and have even more power then today.... You do what you wish and the rest of us will do what we must.....
As Whittle said, 2/3 of the country is conservative. If conservatives moved away from the establishment suddenly, then we would have a chance at saving the country without violent revolution. If we stay on the course we are on, violent revolution is guaranteed. It won't succeed, which is the really sad part.
I don't know that we should go third party. I don't think that a party system is a good one. Some of the founders talked about parties as being detrimental to our republic.
If Romney is the worst conservative pick that we could have made, then how is that moving away from the status quo that is killing us? Some are saying, and I don't advocate for it, that if Obama stays in, we will be motivated to make real change, whereas Romney getting in would chill everyone out, but not make any real difference. Romney will stop any momentum that has been made in getting people riled up for major change.
My vote doesn't count in this election, so it doesn't really matter what I do. The only way that my vote would do any good is to help pump up the numbers for another party ticket. If my vote did count, then I might consider voting for Romney, but it would be a tough thing for me to do.
I don't see conservatives coming together in a consorted effort to oust the establishment, so we will probably end up with a crash of the financial system, then a pretty bad lock down tyranny. That is what I am preparing for. When they start confiscating guns, there will be some who fight back, but it will be short lived. A prolonged civil rebellion is not really possible in today's USA. The people are too weak and dependent, and the government is too big and strong militarily. Not to mention that foreign troops will be used to keep control of the public in the US. They have been training here for about twenty years to do just that. Our military and national guard will be kept overseas, so there will be no real resistance. This is why our veterans are on top of the most likely terrorist list right now. They know that they will be the most likely to resist.
Most of the violence will come from the big cities where there will be riots and looting from desperate people who have no options. It would be wise to move out of those cities and become more independent, if a person is able to. We might have a few more years before all of this happens, but it could go down sooner than that.
I do agree with Bill Whittle concerning "election day". I am waiting until the last minute to vote. If it looks like Oregon will come into play, then I might vote Romney just to get Zero out. Even if Oregon comes into play, three counties vote for the rest of the state, so it still doesn't matter much.
It is just history, and human nature. When certain things happen, there is a certain reaction.
