I learned to shoot guns before I was 11 years old. I was a police officer for 5 years now I see why I am not one anymore. We are seeing a paradime shift in people who cannot think for themselves called socialism so they naively trust in their gov. to protect them and to make all the right decisions. If the truth were known the one who called the child welfare is probably a criminal. He/she should be thrown in jail for yelling fire in a movie theater Criminals always point fingers at everyone else. They want to lower everyone else to their perverted level. And it is a fact that this is not child abuse end of discussion.
Has anyone made the factual connection that ever
since Obama got reelected that for a while almost every week there was a
school shooting. And it was that SandyHook shooting that all the
liberals have loved so they can get people all fearful and desperate
enough to accept any answer called gun control. This is not an opinion
this is a fact so deal with it. the liberals who are the greatest
hateful group got what they want.
Liberalism is a mental disease it is like a virus in a computer if it is allowed to fester it will destroy its host. This world has become a more scary place since the liberals, atheists and radical environmentalists have taken over since the 60s. Liberals never want to make the connection that the 20th century was the bloodiest century in world history and that is when liberals began to get things their way. Liberalism has proven to fail. They had nothing to do with the formation of the greatest country in the world. The country that everyone wants to come to get freedom. freedom from communism/liberalism, high taxes, robbing from those who work and giving to those who do not want to work.
Definition of a liberal: someone who believes in freedom of speech until he finds out that there is a different view and wants everyone else to pay for their drug/porno/hate addictions. Liberals got their Obama in the white house now he is making a fool of them called "Obamination Care"
This is outrages that they (the police and the social worker) tried to bully him in opening the safe. It is a good thing he had a lawyer.

Now if a Muslim child had a bomb strapped to him, I'm sure the police wold do nothing as that's normal for Muslim children to pose one last time for photo op.

Some cops are out of control... I was in the car with my wife just a few days ago, and this car comes speeding up and darn near rear ends us... We were in town and the traffic as heavy so we were not speeding... Well we hear this loud car horn... As if to suggest WE did something wrong... Worse yet... He pulls up beside us, rolls down the window and flashes his badge... As if we were supposed to be impressed that a cop can drive like a jacka$$ and have the gall to suggest that WE were the ones in the wrong. Jerk. Having said that, the cops in my town are for the most part very nice... I've tweeted with them a few times as well and until this jacka$$ sounded off... well... My wife suggested it was almost 4pm and he was probably late getting to the station for his shift and that's why he was speeding.... still a jerk.

@stage9 I don't care what anyone thinks, I will not hide the fact I own or hunt. Sometimes I carry openly because they don't want to see it and I always transport my dead Deer or Bear on an open trailer as opposed to them wanting me to conceal it so I won't offend their poor little sensibilities.

Further statist intimidation. No wonder they did not return. Just what would they have told the judge in trying to justify a warrant? What law was he breaking? Why was a search or entry required. These guys are buffons.

@deTocqueville1 The sheer fact that they did this to begin with tells me there is a police state that is out of control. This still will have an effect. I guarantee you that family will be very careful what they post on FB as well as others.

Has the rule of law, as defined by the 4th Amendment, become extinct under President Obama? The The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
The Fourth Amendment was intended to create a constitutional buffer between U.S. citizens and the intimidating power of law enforcement. This is what occurred in New Jersey and the responsibility of upholding these rights bestowed to 'We the People ' is the duty of U.S. Attorney General, Eric Holder.
Does anyone think this administration will enforce our God given rights the Founders enshrined to all Americans?

@Laurel A @Conservator1 I agree, but one thing that Bush and the GOP did accomplish was allowing the Federal Assault Weapons Ban to expire in 2004.
Conservatives have been complicit in furthering the liberal agenda for quite some time. The difference now is that they are pushing the overall agenda much faster, and therfor their complicity it much more obvious. They can sell us out once in a while, and we tend to let it go, but now they are selling us out on a regular basis, so they are pushing our limits in being able to absorb it while continuing to support them.

Yesterday when I wrote about Rand Paul's immigration reform proposal I know many on this site and other conservative sites thought I supported it like Rubio's plan; I don't.
It was very disheartening to me and it gave me great pause to try to comprehend what was the GOP goal by selling out their conservative base. It appears the Republican Party is willing to commit political suicide.

Can someone show me where it is ILLEGAL for an 11 year-old to hold a gun? Apparently, the father was present (to take the picture) so, the child had supervision while holding the gun. When the authorities start making up reasons to search your home or threaten to take your kids away because you don't go along with their agenda, it is called tyranny!

What gives them the right to take your kids to begin with? If there is any sacred relationship other than marriage, it would be that which we have with our children. This is simply a symptom of a greater tyranny, and people should know by now that we are not a free people anymore. We haven't been for a long time.

@maynardb61 I was nine when I picked up Dad's Colt AR-15 and an M-1. Fired both of them. The Ruger 10/22 was a bit more enjoyable because of size.

I found a nearby store/shooting range I go to and they have the Mossberg and a S&w version. Maybe head over there tomorrow.

Went to Mossberg website. The rifle is called a 715T and they are out of stock and no longer taking orders.

Not to mention the fact that our government is monitoring our public and personal social media posts, then taking action on it. These actions are often illegal. This is as blatent of a tyranny as any. People need to be suing over this stuff.
Do they take the NY Times or do you have to have the LA Times as well just to be sure? ;-)
