Ya know I have to say something. Jay questions Romney's COMPASSION.....Romney just gave 4 Million dollars to charity....not sure but don't non-profits usually "help" people...and wouldn't that constitute compassion??? The left has nothing....nada. War on women...what women? Seriously??? I am so so so sick of it. I want this election to be over and I want Romney and Ryan in there bringing order back to this country. I hate to think what my grandfather a WWII vet would say about all of this. It truly makes me sick!

a tiny portion of the federal budget goes to help people, the 1% get HUGE tax breaks however, that is where we need to make a difference. Everyone pays the same tax across the board!
How much compassion does Jay Leno have? How much money has he donationed from his millions and millions?

Miller has a way with words, like George Carlin without all the vulgarity. However, people who think 0 is inept are dead wrong. He is systematically and deliberately dismantling the economy while using the Bill of Rights for toilet paper.
That was pretty funny, especially his response to the war on women....errr... the make believe war on women.
He got compassion in a nutshell. Doling out money unconditionally is not compassion, it's naive. Help the helpless and screw the people that are gaming it. Eat out of a trash can if you aren't willing to work and you are able.

Jay Leno's usage of "compassion for the poor", is a standard Liberal progressive marxist mantra, by which to attain political credibility to gain power and control, thus which is only a ruse for their hidden agenda.
Leno's sad and pathetic attempt to justify Obama's destruction of America, via his marxist inept incompetence leadership, is needless to say sad and pathetic..
Jay Leno, if you are not willing to see and acknowledge the truth of Obama and the radical far left's corruption and destruction, then you are not better than those who commit the corruption and destruction.

Dennis gets it. I always thought that leno was at least a decent guy for a liberal. But his comments just showed me he is another dumb ass liberal with the same old liberal talking points. leno is just another reason why I do not watch tv and waste my time.
First of all, you don't get points for holding a gun to somebody's head and forcing them to give their money to others. That's not compassion, it's extortion. It's only compassion when you take it out of your own pocket and give it away.
I absolutely do NOT see how Obama has helped those who need it. I don't see how his "compassion" has done anything to help anybody. We have gone from bad to worse during his occupancy and his slogan is "Forward". What does that tell you?
Yeah, Obama has really helped the helpless, by preventing them from getting jobs and keeping them on Welfare........How is keeping people on Welfare, giving them a break? Leno is a useful idiot..........

I prefer saying: Calling people 'helpless' takes away their dignity as functional human beings. At what level of living standard shall we call someone helpless?
Poverty in the US is equivalent to royalty for 50% of the world population (my own guestimate) as well as virtually every civilization that have lived before us.
Where were the running hot water, heaters, fans, airconditioners, fast food delivery, flat screen tvs, brand name sneakers in the pre-1950s? Was every being in history all helpless?
I want to preserve the dignity of our so called "helpless". Whatever life they make for themselves, it's not up to me to say that's not good enough.
You really should look up the meanings of words once in a while because the Progressives are very good at twisting their meanings.

My thoughts are that the "helpless" category is so small, that they shouldn't be the focus of a slogan. The word is something that can be manipulated to mean anything. An amputee for example, I would not necessarily consider helpless, because I have respect for his dignity and ability to do whatever it is they can do well.
We're splitting hairs, but all I'm saying is that I believe a more effective argument could be made. Only my opinion.
Anyway, enjoyed watching Miller sticking it to Leno.

Leno needs more Miller and maybe some Gutfeld, too, just to keep his ratings up. He took a pay cut so he could keep staffers employed... because nobody wants to watch NBC anymore, and Leno can't pay all the bills himself.

Compassion is enacted upon those who ARE willing to do something productive, or at least try to be, with their lives and not toward those who consume the energies of others who are. Yes, the world is filled with gamers and unfairness. But to allow that to lead you down the path of reclusiveness because your hard work has not materialized into substantial gains yet should never be an excuse to forfeit your life over into someone else's hand. Dust off, re-huddle, and run another play. You'll never know when one will finally across the goal line. Always remember, failing a thousand ways to produce a light bulb, but only taking one to succeed is a motto to die for!

How the heck is Romney not passionate? He gives millions to charity yearly. Is Biden passionate with his $350 to charity? I make 1/4 of what he does for salary and I gave more than that to charity.

The reason he was wrong is that, mathematically at least, it is like deciding on which cancer treatment to use.
(Almost all cancer treatments help "cure" a small percentage of patients. But if they don't cure enough, the treatment gets tossed. It could be a treatment that only saved 5% of the patient population, but would have saved your life, too. Now you are stuck with some treatment that saves 40% of the population; just not you.)
In other words, what Akin said was numerically stupid, like telling people not to take any cancer cures, because none of them work "all" the time.
It was beyond stupid of him to try and bring that up. Especially since he has not mastered the topic.
Fact: women all over the world get pregnant from rape, in incredibly significant numbers. It doesn't matter that some are so traumatized they are spared the extra trauma of "being punished with a baby."
It wasn't a mere gaffe; It was a major meltdown.
Percentages can be deceiving, considering that in the cases of "one nighters" the use of contraception comes into the equation and affecting the numbers. A more accurate and valid comparison would be to use the number of pregnancies from unprotected sex versus the number of pregnancies resulting from rapes. This would remove the flaw from your premise.
