The attack on the Embassy in Cairo began at approximately 11:30 AM local time. From that time on the responsible agencies of government should have been on maximum high alert. The attack on the consulate in Benghazi began at approximately 9:30 PM a difference of 10 hours.
It's common knowledge Libya is a lawless, unstable, highly volatile area where lawless individuals and groups are in possession of heavy weapons. The CIA operatives there were in the process of trying to recover some of the 20,000 shoulder launched antiaircraft missiles which are unaccounted for since the war in Libya.
The Libyan mission was probably the most vulnerable target in the region due to the lax security. Once the attack on the Embassy in Cairo began prudence would have demanded the Libyan mission be given a top priority and steps taken to ensure the mission was protected in the event of an any attack. Given the inadequate security arrangements at the mission military and other security assets should have been mobilized and put into place which could respond in a timely way to repel any assault. They had 10 hours to make these arrangements. The failure to do so is a reflection of total incompetence.
You have to wonder how these people from the president on down have the nerve to collect their pay.
Great special. I cannot imagine the last moments of life for the ambassador and the others that were murdered.
And Obama didn't seem to miss a beat. The man is so cold. It's scary.

Where is the followup to the reports that Amb. Stevens was sodomized before and after his murder? I guess it can't be reported because it might inflame anger against "the religion of peace?"

Real justice for the brave Americans killed in Benghazi is for 0 and his criminal staff to face jail time. They must not be allowed to just walk out of the WH to get on with their lives or serve in any way or form as public servants.

Art, with all due respect, we don't have to rely on Glenn to get our info. Don't get me wrong, I loved him when he was on Fox, and actually planned my days around his show making sure I could watch everyday, after I lost my job and had time to pay attention. He sure as heck opened my eyes.
Fox has done some fantastic reporting on Benghazi from the very beginning. For goodness sakes..... none of us thought the "embassy" was in Benghazi, we all knew it was an out lying consulate as well as the weapons angle. Love Glenn, but he got too deep into the political opinion area for me. I preferred it when he was the historian and educator.

The point is not that viewers thought the embassy was in Benghazi.
The point is that WHY was Ambassador Stevens IN Benghazi... and who was his contact?
Glenn is doing seminal reporting that seems to be picked up by the rest of the media... eventually.

On freerepublic the other night they had the complete transcript and Lt. Col. Hunt explaining what was going on and where as everything was going down. He explained that there would be people listening in at several forward operating sites (we were stationed at one of them before we retired a couple years ago) around the globe, as well as Panetta, Obama, Clinton, Dempsey, etc. For them all to concoct such a hare-brain story, thinking that everybody would believe it is incredible. So glad that FOX has come out with this. Just waiting to see what The One will say on Monday night, especially since the LA Times and others are saying that they think evidence exists to support the video theory. Some people would die to maintain their lie rather than accept the truth, and to that end, many will do just that.
I saw this today, the story is morphing again, and WH is tryig to launch now ideas there was a MOB of protesters to go along with new MEME about OBOZO saying terror ( you know the CANDY fiasco).
They keep moving the goal post folks, folks.

Thank you Fox News. This is the first comprehensive begining to end synopsis of that terrible night I have seen. I just heard on the radio, an AP report I believe, that some alleged eyewitnesses are now coming forward to say there was a protest going on prior to the attack. Now why do I mistrust these "new" eyewitnesses?

Wait a minute. You mean they left Stevens behind for hours , he was still alive when they locals found him. In fact, it seems there was no attempt to get retrieve Stevens after the one guy climbs onto the roof.
They did. They went in over and over and only found one guy who was already dead. They stayed as long as they could and then went to the other compound.
Remember the near death beating that Greg Palkot and his camer man took while in Egypt?
Today the reports came through that Egypt is asking Iran to help them build a nuclear weapon; and Obama would have us believe that democracy is on the move in the middle east. Not !! The middle east is coalescing into a war-mongering monster who's very first intention is to innhilate Israel. Obama's policy of appeasment in the middle east is a complete failure and Benghazi amplifies this fact. I expect Obama will do everything he can Monday night , with an assist from from Sheiffer, to navigate away from th foreign policy thread as often as he can.

The one point which puzzles me, and which was not addressed in these first two segments is where the ex Navy SEALs come in.
They were not 'security' forces,they came, AFAIK, with the people from the Annexe, even though it was not the job they were in Benghazi for.
I read somewhere (can't remember where) that without them the people from the Annexe couldn't have withdrawn,They paid with their lives so that these others could live.
I hope there's more in the following segments.
Maybe Gov Romney should bring a projector/screen monday night and say I need 9 min, and show this…..

The "liberal utopia" - in their minds - keeps ending up in reality as a concrete wasteland of misery, graffiti, looting, anarchy, turf wars, boarded-up windows, with the sound of sirens at all hours of the day, drifting through the chilly winds in a gray land of sobbing people huddled together in fear.

I know someone who's academically bright - but a liberal - I asked her about the US debt. Does it "matter" to liberals? after all, it seems like it's "just numbers". I proposed that if she racked up all her credit cards... would it "matter"?
Most of us here realize that liberalism is a mental disorder.
However, being divisive and polarized isn't a long term solution. The result is simply Us vs. them. That could eventually lead to class warfare, envy and civil war.
How do we convert people to our way of thought? how do you convert fundamentally emotional individuals into logical ones?
With patience and repeated facts and the Constitution and Bill of Rights, gently and quietly usually works best for me. Some of them just won't listen though.
I've been obnoxiously angry at the current mis-administration since this happened. Their attempted cover-up did nothing but exacerbate it. Then I find out there was a drone directly overhead and they could have had help there in an hour... and didn't. Now this! Everyone in this administration who had anything whatsoever to do with this debacle needs to be arrested and prosecuted... starting with DuhOne!

I'm not sure why it is said Stevens was tortured, dragged through the streets, etc. given this timeline. As more is learned about the actual events on the ground, it will be fascinating to find out if these rumors/other reports are true, and how they fit this timeline.
So.......I guess Obama has to go to Camp David and study up on how he's going to worm his way through this tragedy! I bet the third debate will be the most intense yet! Don't think Romney is going to let him off the hook with this one! Nor should he!
We can probably predict what Obama will have to say at the debate regarding Benghazi....

I saw this special last night and thought it was great. Obama is faced with just two excuses now. Either he lied about the video and used it to coverup the fact that his policy in Libya is a complete disaster, or our intelligence services are so bad (including the CIA, NSA, and the State Department) that they are incapable of giving accurate intelligence to our political leaders. Neither is a very good option for the president to have. And for Joe Biden to already say that "We just didn't know," well, I guess you can see where the president will be going with this on Monday night. Romney should hit Obama with this, but he should also make the larger point that the whole adventure in Libya has been a failure and will continue to fail unless the current Libyan government gets some military help to assist it in controlling the country, which is now bordering on anarchy. And in an eleciton year, I doubt that Obama will want to place boots on the ground to insure the safety of the Libyan government. What a mess.

Fox is featuring the Fort Hood victims tape and some of the survivors today. I'm so glad they picked up on right scoop's lead on it that more people will see that very touching tape and have the opportunity to hear the truth about that tragic attack on our servicemen and women.
Greg Palkot did an awesome job. When I saw what they went through that night and then think about the govt refusing them security I know there must be a special place in Hell set aside for the administration.
Bret's interview with Woods was particular moving. You could tell he was holding back tears talking about the situation knowing that if his security team had been allowed to stay, they could have made a difference and maybe no one would have died.
Maybe they would have made the difference, maybe that's why they were pulled out. Not saying that's true but I will echo what I have asked from the beginning. Why pull out security in a dangerous place and leave people in harm's way? I understand the Bolton narrative that it might show Obama's foreign policy to have been wrong, but what if its more? Either way its about as bad as it gets.
The entire show was very good and I was screaming at PJ Crowley from my chair. His utopian view is not only naive but dangerous. Gotta get the Obama administration unemployed.

On Fox today Elliott Engel (D) congressman tried to convince everyone of the Obama line and blamed the Republicans for making an issue of Benghazi. This in the face of the docs released by State yesterday. Uma P on Fox kept saying but what about the 4 Americans who were killed and he never blinked an eye.
The Dems are cold, heartless beings and will do anything to get or retain power even betray the American people. I hope we not only have a Romney win but a 2010 result with the GOP also winning the Senate. We need to get rid of these people.
Well, that just adds further proof of how damaging this is to Obama.
