It's obvious that Costas as a little guy (in stature) when he comes out with these liberal talking points, about guns, it makes him feel big (in stature).
Bob costas is an ignorant douche bag! you can't fix stupid and this dumb ass is clearly stupid!
I noticed that most of Costa's premises were based in stereotype and not fact. I also noticed he kept referencing the 'wild west'. He did so because he chickened out and didn't want to reference what he was really talking about and that is gangsta culture and gangs in general.
Costa wouldn't know the wild west if it bit him in the A$$. He certainly would of been grateful though for all those that did carry guns in those days. An armed society is a polite society.
I saw this interview and sat here yelling at the tv. He didn't redeem himself at all and just proved to me that he's another uninformed, liberal, anti gun, self righteous idiot who uses his job to spew his personal agenda. I was stunned when he said that a concealed handgun license holder might just pull out a gun and shoot someone for stepping on his foot in line at the theater. The Wild West mentality he talks about--I haven't heard of a single shoot out anywhere in the country between law abiding citizens. This clown needs to read "More Guns, Less Crime."
I hope O'Reilly took him down good I just can't stand to watch him do it. If it gets him ratings he's for it and that includes some liberal drival. His interview with Obama before the first Obama election was a disgrace it looked like something MSNBC would have approved. His sanctimonious shouting down his interviewees while their answering his questions is unbearable to watch. He reminds me of Chrissy Mathews when he does that.
After listening to the interview, Costas is still spouting the same old tired left wing lies about what happens when law abiding citizens carry firearms. He is nothing but a mouthpiece for those wanting to take away our rights.
Be careful how you step backwards, Bob. You might trip and fall off the proverbial cliff.
It seems that, lately, it's far too easy for a public figure (whether it be a politician or an entertainment figure) to spew whatever garbage they want and if they get flack for it, say they meant something other than what they said.
It's time to be accountable for your actions, Bob. If you use your position to further your causes, then you better be ready to lay that positon on the line for it.
This is nothing more than Costas on a PR tour for his actions. He got SPANKED by management and probably was going to get fired if he didn't get in full fledged damage control
As usual, the topic on the table is secondary, the main issue is that Bill-O is honored to be in the presence of a Leftist "journalist." Bill's such a pretentious prick. He and Costas are micromanaging idiots. So we need more background checks? On these background checks, will being a member of the Tea Party or being a conservative disqualify you from owning a weapon?
A gun culture that almost always leads to tragedy instead of safety? He's full of donkey crap! Crime that is deterred is not recorded. If people were allowed to carry guns in some of these places where mass murderers went on a killing spree, there would have been a lot of lives saved, and those would not have been recorded, either.
You have to look where the killers go....gun free zones. That says it all.
The outrage must have been large enough that NBC and Costas went into damage control mode. Think about this, Costas, a huge liberal bothered to put himself on FOX to make his case and walk it back slightly.
I agree with the premise of the "gun culture" with these immature, suddenly-rich, players wearing major bling and driving Escalades. They are loose canons.
Then you'd also agree with the premise of a "boat culture" and a "mistress culture" and a "blind culture" too, right? "Tattoo culture"? "Sports car culture"? "Satellite TV culture"? "401k culture" isn't that far off, you know.
I'm not going to watch him try and moonwalk his comments.

Costas has an agenda filled with double talk to move this Nation under the Obama Adimistration too systematically classify certain people as having NO right to own a gun. It will start slow and expand Administratively with death of the gun by type, configuration, and ammo. Note the recent stories about Vet's being denied there 2nd Amendment Rights. It is coming!
Guns are like a babies thumb. Right there with you and you don't think about it much until you want it. The baby sucks its thumb for comfort, my handgun in my auto doing the very same thing. For my comfort.

I know one thing. More guns for Joe != more dead people. More guns for Joe = more fun for Joe and a more aware and safe Joe. Screw these talking heads and their opinions that they think they can dictate our lives with.
At least 6 NFL player's have committed suicide in the last 2 years. Why isn't Bob talking about banning football due to it's violent concussions to the head.
Well ... actually Bobby did make reference in the end of the bit about there needing to be a discussion on the nature of violence related to football, but, again, it's the lesser point.
I don't watch O'Reilly.
Maybe in this instance O'Reilly gives a brilliant argument for liberty and the Constitution, but more often, he is too willing to sell them out for personal gain. He has lost all credibility with me.
Philosophically, O'Reilly's feet are planted firmly in the air. He is constantly checking the direction of the wind.

I don't either. I actually recorded the show because one of my very favorite authors, Brad Thor, was being interviewed.
No, there was really no brilliance on display here. What it was was a quality bit of 'gotcha' journalism where Bill was able to throw Bob's words back at him and then postulate a hypothetical. It's so so so so so sad what journalism has become today when the postulating of a hypothetical accounts for news. Instead, Costas should've been raked over the coals -- as he has been to a certain degree -- what what he said, which leads to what you imply. Bobby keeps using the defense of "well, what I meant was ___", and I couldn't give two squirts about what you meant, Bob.
When Costas quoted Whitlock, he said that had the football player NOT had a gun, both he and his girlfriend would be alive today? What evidence is there that this could even be close to the truth? Tell Nicole Brown Simpson that she would still be alive today if only O.J. didn't have a knife!
Also, did this football player use steroids? Maybe between the steroid use and the alcohol, this guy was going to explode no matter what. Somebody should at least ask the question if steroid use could have contributed to this guy's violent behavior.
Oh, no, I don't really think we should outlaw guns. Not all of them, no, heavens no! I just think they are really only for huntin' and fishin' and sport shootin', and stuff. Oh, and should be made so you can't shoot like, a thousand bullets at the same time like those awful "assault" weapons. Which are only for the army, and should be banned forever. Do you want your little girl to accidentally kill all your neighbors while you're out mowing the lawn?
So we should maybe put real strict controls on guns, especially any that could kill people.
And also we should probably let the government keep an eye on your little girl.
Bullets ought to cost a lot more, too, 'coz they're bad for you, just like cigarettes.

I'm afraid you'll see more of that as time goes by. Especially if you want video from any news organization. It's the only way we'll get their content for free. I learned to accept the ads. They are usually short, and you can turn off the volume. Plus sometimes you get a real bozo outfit paying money so you can see video they probably wish you couldn't see. I like when that happens.
I don't mind those ads too much. The ones that are annoying to me are the facebook and youtube ads that pop up while I'm in the middle of something else on the side of the screen and I have no idea which tab its in to stop it.
